Hey, it's a ... spider with six legs?

Oh, dear... it looks like it’s already been squished!

Guess this is a sidestep for randomness to a Technic/Clikits set tomorrow.

What spider have you seen that has eyeballs that stick out of its sockets??

What living thing for that matter have you seen that has eyeballs sticking out of its sockets.

Hmm. As far as being a spider--FAIL! But for parts--it's a goldmine!

And it came in a pack of Duracell batteries?! I never even saw the Matchbox cars that came in Duracell--only a couple of pretty cheap screwdrivers, and headphones that broke in a week and sounded horrible.

It’s actually a crab pretending to be a spider. That explains the eyes.

sometimes a crab spider is a crab spider.

^ I think we have those in Australia.

@Your future president - snails and mantis shrimp come to mind.

Given that this guy only has six primary legs, he appears to be based on one of the spider species that mimic ants by holding their front pair of legs up as if they were antennae. One example: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrmarachne

I assume this is Huwbot weighing in on the Disney/Sony fiasco that’s currently ongoing.

^ haha, you really made me laugh!)

What if this is a crabber or spiab that's secretly made from Clickets, and that's why it looks so weird?

By in Singapore,

Just me who immediately recognized this as a miniature (and uh, six-legged) version of the spider from #4101-1 from two years before? One of my favorite models from that set that's on the back of the box (not the front), and also featured on the cover of the instructions.

Despite the lack of legs, he looks very nice.

The eyes of the spider are terrible.

@Balthazar Brannigan

I thought at first that you were doing it wrong, taking this seriously. Then I read your last sentence. :)

By in Netherlands,

Perfectly fine design for the time, before the "mixel" style ball joints, or plates with handles.

Ok, it has no 8 legs, but it's still recognizable with mostly simpler parts.

2005 was 14 years ago, now of course a lot more smaller parts have been made to look more like an actual spider.

2011 40021 Spiders Set has 2x 8 legs with clips.

2019 30451 Spider-man Polybag mech is a good example of a more modern 8-legged design with better proportions, but also more parts.

Okay, hold up, did somebody report my "3spoopy5me" comment from about 12 hours ago? It's a meme people! That's a misuse of the report system for sure. I was certain people would find it funny and have some fun since the other comments are about how the set looks squashed, and that the spider only has six legs, and the eyes are poking out funny, but I guess not. Memes are no good. :/
