Review: 40367 Lady Liberty
Posted by CapnRex101,
LEGO has produced surprisingly few BrickHeadz models during 2019, focusing almost exclusively upon holiday figures. 40367 Lady Liberty seems accordingly interesting and strikes an appealing balance between accurate detail and the unique BrickHeadz aesthetic in my opinion.
Furthermore, this figure incorporates numerous sand green pieces which are rarely available and I anticipate some unusual building techniques, based upon official images. On that basis, I have been looking forward to assembling 40367 Lady Liberty for my BrickHeadz collection.
The Completed Model
BrickHeadz models are traditionally displayed on black bases and the Statue of Liberty is no exception. Despite its exaggerated proportions, the statue is immediately recognisable and the sand green colour scheme looks wonderful, corresponding with the original structure. Of course, that has also resulted in the provision of some interesting pieces which rarely appear in sand green, including basic 2x4 plates and 2x2 tiles.
The construction techniques employed within this model are simpler than I was anticipating, although the crown is somewhat unusual. Five pointed sections are fitted around an octagonal ring plate, much like 21042 Statue of Liberty from the Architecture theme. The face looks familiar too, matching past BrickHeadz characters and featuring the same printed eyes.
However, the hair includes remarkable detail, effectively combining smooth curved slopes with some exposed studs. The resultant texture seems reasonably faithful to the source material and I love how the shape of the crown has been continued on each side. No windows are included towards the front but Lady Liberty does carry the tabula ansata which is represented by a plain 1x2 tile.
Her famous torch, on the other hand, looks more elaborate. 21042 Statue of Liberty includes Captain Salazar's hair piece from 71042 Silent Mary, albeit moulded in pearl gold rather than black. The same technique appears here and this flame is connected to the torch using a lipstick element which seems interesting. Moreover, the textured dress looks magnificent in my opinion, again mixing exposed studs with curved slopes to good effect.
Overall
The most popular BrickHeadz models exhibit innovative building techniques, differentiating them from the standard template. 40367 Lady Liberty certainly conforms to this trend, although I was anticipating greater complexity, perhaps matching 41629 Boba Fett which remains my favourite BrickHeadz model at the moment.
Nevertheless, this is an impressive addition to the range and represents an inexpensive alternative to 21042 Statue of Liberty, costing £9.99 or $9.99. For that reason, I would recommend this set but think other BrickHeadz creations are potentially more appealing, including some of the alternative Seasonal designs.

Great review. I loved the Brickheadz line but honestly gave up with so many low run and exclusive sets.
Love it, might snatch it along with Fett later on.
I've got two of these, I love the design of this Brickheadz. Its one of the most detailed Brickheadz that doesn't have any prints designed for it.
Brickheadz Eiffel tower is next.
The only Brickheadz figure I own is the Aquaman, bought in Walmart on sale for 3.99$, that's literally the only reason I bought it.
I then used it's extra eye brick to make one of me, (it was interesting because I have blue hair, with brown accents) I used an extra Monster eye from the doctor strange, sanctdom showdown, I now have a Brickheadz of me with an eagle eye, and holding the CMF vet rabbit, for my pet rabbit.
Great review!
Personally, I am looking forward to this one. Honestly, I could care less about Funko; but at least with Brickheadz; I can use them for something else. This set is pretty much nothing but the much sought-after sand green color.
wow, went to add it to my bag and it's out of stock! would be my first brickheadz, hard to pass up all that sand green ;)
I bought this one almost the first day. Love it. But, I was really disappointed to find a pink brain brick. Hollow would have been awesome.
This model is to become my Lego City Statue of Liberty for my own harbor. It's character and design is perfect for the aesthetic I'm going for and I adore it. Can't wait to finish the section where she'll rise.
I like BrickHeadz only because 41597-1 exists (and was retired all too soon, thankfully I got it on clearance).
I'm in need of sand green bricks specifically, which this, for all the sand green it offers, has very, very few of since most of it is surface texturing with plates and curves. So this isn't the parts pack I was hoping it would be. That said, the build itself looks well-sculpted.
I find it interesting that the Statue of Liberty is one of the most depicted things in LEGO, compared to just about anything else in the world. I wonder why?
@Mica86 - We cannot always review everything immediately after its release, hence we sometimes publish reviews a couple of months after sets become available.
@Havok211 - I have not heard any official comments on that subject but I believe LEGO produced too many BrickHeadz during 2018 so some were struggling to sell. They have therefore slowed down significantly this year.
It's simple to make a decent baseplate for it that resembles the actual pedestal.
Love the torch! I'm a huge NYC fan, so I might gonna get this..
I don’t think the slowdown hurts - this and the ghost are great, and the elves look fun too. Last year They would not have attracted my attention. Except the ghost, because ghosts are cool.
Decent model and nice part pack!
