Random set of the day: Creator Bucket
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 7830 Creator Bucket, released in 2002. It's one of 12 Creator sets produced that year. It contains 200 pieces.
It's owned by 112 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Don’t mean to be a troll, but Lego should stick to classic stuff like this instead of what they released today.
^No pun intended I'm sure.
Ugh! Look like it was designed by a 4 year old!
Why can't they make buckets for Star Wars?
Off by 2! The one I own is 7832, a very similar set with a totally different set of bricks.
This is the Creator theme I miss.
@Kynareth: They did, once: https://brickset.com/sets/7159-1/Star-Wars-Bucket
The most interesting part of this set is the fair number of transparent bricks.
While currently we have the "Classic" theme similar to this, with eyes and various bricks, they also increased the number of colors to like 20+ so in the end you only get a few bits of the same part/color in each set.
But some of the "themes" they choose are still interesting. (eyes, gears, wheels, windows)
The 2018 60th anniversary sets were nice since they had some basic smiley minifigs/accesoires/hairpieces.
But having the Classic theme around still since it's "reboot" in 2015 is nice as it shows a core part of LEGO , building by imagination.
@TeriXeri: The old Creator theme was well-known for its decent portion of transparent bricks in many of its sets. Ironically, though, while it even had a set (I also own) called Regular and Transparent Bricks (4119), that set had fewer transparent bricks than this one. I very much enjoyed the Building Bigger Thinking sets too, with 10404 being the set to break me out of my Dark Ages.
@LegoSonicBoy, oh my god, I knew it existed and I was going to make a joke about it being a bucket at a garage sale, but I've just clicked the link and realised that I've just been given those bricks in a bucket from a family friend who's moving!
Missing the Jar Jar Binks though :-/
@LegoSonicBoy I also came out of dark ages recently (around 2016), since 2000, so my experience with many of those older Basic/Creator type sets were mostly basic bricks, often just in the 5 core colors for a long time (red/blue/yellow/white/black), with some grey and green parts added in the late 90s.
My favourite model has to be that white X.
Hmmm. This set seems to be on par with my MOC level :)
@namekuji The white “x” is a bone for the dog...
Transparent red/blue is definitely the interesting part of this set. Better than that ugly Friends magenta pieces I get in Basic buckets today. I have not found a single use for those primary colored parts--at all!
My favourite is the semi-decapitated dog with transparent red neck.
