Hands down, best set of the 90s, that encapsulates the 80s

By in United States,

The pool is crocodile infested. That is why it is a poolSIDE paradise.

Wild Playset Lego! I l would so buy this, fill the pool and put those new rubber duckies in it.

I loved Paradisa. The minifigure standing on the balcony was always my figure. I was the mayor of Paradisa—a town of earthquakes, fires, explosions, floods, serial murders, and evil twins, but it was such a beautiful place that the tourists and townspeople would always hang around.

By in Portugal,

Epic set. Still remember the old catalogs, with all the pool parties and chilled scenes on the balconies... Paradisa was a short lived theme, but made its impact back then. Still does, I believe.

Those big trans-clear pieces... On my wanted list forever...

I wanted so much this set when I was a girl... I never got it... :(

I loved this set as a kid. An amazing baseplate. Paradisa needs to make a comeback.

Most gangsta set of all time, today's minifigs live in hovels

By in Australia,

The set was just the epitome of Lego luxury, back when 9-year-old me glimpsed it in catalogues of the day. A gorgeous set, and I absolutely loved it.

By in United States,

Fun fact: this set was the last time those window pieces appeared prior to the recent Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313)

Little kid me immediately liked this one, then got insecure about the pink

By in United States,

Those stairs are legit. Never had pink ones, I have the black spiral staircase from Majisto’s Tower. Side note...my Wife had a college marketing professor about 7 years ago tell Her that Lego only started producing pieces in pink after about 2010. I referenced Paradisa to correct them.

By in Poland,

Remember when Lego was gender neutral?
Seriouslsy, many of my friends had Paradisa sets, but todays kids says Friends is Girl theme.
Lego is loosing mad bucks.

By in United Kingdom,

You'd think they'd go back to something like this as a City theme at some point. They've made a few efforts at being more than just police and firefighters, perhaps instead of explorers we can get tourists

That car can fit right in with this year's Friends Holiday Calendar ornament builds - hang it from the white piece that's representing the car seat!

One day.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Had four Paradisa sets in 90s. Never liked the horse sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I had this as a kid, one of my favourite sets ever! Still got all/most of the parts for it. Certainly the cool baseplate anyways.

By in Hungary,

Paradisa day is always a good day.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

That base plate! Pretty nifty set this one.

Gravatar
By in Italy,

I can't believe I bought this when I was 35...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Bought it only 3 days ago. It only took 27 years to overcome that boy-pride...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

@WemWem, Agree about the baseplates. It's a real shame raised ones aren't produced anymore for any theme.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

bough this a few years back at a second hand shop - good find

lovely Paradisa beach sets never stop to amaze! but had to build a new car for this one ;)

Never had any Paradisa sets back in the day but always loved the colours, which were so much cooler than all the standard red-yellow-blue-black-white-grey back then.
Bought several Paradisa sets (including this one) via ebay over the years and think I might get the missing ones in time as well. Great theme.

There is a nod to this theme in the recent Xtra sticker pack. One of the stickers is a sign for "Paradisa Beach".

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Paradisa was such a great line, and signalled the beginning of the huge expansion of colours that continues to this day.

By in Netherlands,

This set is entirely carried by it's baseplate.

If this same set was made on just smaller plates and the palm tree/swimming pool was a sidebuild, some people would scream juniorized as the building itself is fairly simple construction.

Of course that doesn't take away, that for it's time, it was a unique set, in terms of rounded elements, color scheme and baseplate of course.

The closest modern example to this would be the alternate build on 31077: Modular Sweet Surprises , a 2018 Creator 3-in-1 set , which has a swimming pool and a 2-level small "building"

By in United States,

I had this set!!! I used to lock the people up in the covered hole in the baseplate and have other figures come rescue them. They were also often drowned in the pool. I particularly liked the bird, but had a hard time getting it in and out of its little alcove.

By in United Kingdom,

Been spending most our lives living in the poolside paradise...

Lovely set and fun features. Leisure theme needs a come back. All those police and fire fighters have got to relax somewhere right?

Gravatar
By in Russian Federation,

One of my fav series back then. Though I didn't have a single set.

I love the design of this wedge cars from early 90's.

By in Portugal,

I wish more sets could be released with those two Trans-Clear Panel 3 x 3 x 6 (6059) and 6 x 6 x 9 (6002) Corner Convex with Curved Top parts, other than Ship in a Bottle (6002 not in Brickset inventory).
