Just picked this guy up on bricklink. Loving this bionicle binge, huwbot.

Oh there's a few copies of this set sitting in the local Bricks and Minifigures that have been tempting me...

True randomness at play everyone, I just want to remind you that true randomness can result in larger chunks of similar things, that's how Clikits became so frequent, they were just properly randomly selected.

Unlike Clickits, this ridiculous "random" run of one theme isn't just a funny joke - it's AWESOME.

And a funny joke.

Does anyone remember a day when it wasn't a Bionicle set?

By in Turkey,

There are only 85 or so Clickits sets listed... How many Bionicle sets do you think we have, and we'll see? It seems between Bionicle and Hero factory, there are almost 500 sets. So yeah, winter is coming!

Loved these cheap characters LEGO used to make...

To be fair, Bionicle (and constraction) were only added to the possible RSoTD as of about 3 months ago. Since there is such a large pool of sets, I’d expect them to show up more frequently than normal. But 8 sets in 19 days is crazy! I’m loving it.

Anyways, this was a nice little set, one of my first few sets.

@Takuaaaaa
Wait, really? Constraction wasn't always part of it? Interesting...

HAIL DENMARK! More Bionicle sets to reminisce over. (If any of you get this reference to Reviving Bionicle you’re a real one)

Bionicle for life! Orkahm wasn't that bad either, one of the first Bionicle sets to use dark/earth green.

Lol, just watched Nick on Planet Ripple's LEGO Rewind as he posted the monstrous Bionicle episode. I really love that even as a non-Bionicle fan I can enjoy the theme more and more as I begin to understand the storyline.

Ooh, another Metruan. That's two down, wonder if the other four will be in the next couple of weeks!

The cgi pose is both cheaty, and plausible here. The head couldn't turn like this since it was an axle connection, but the elbows and knees all look fairly close to their actual 90 degree bends, and you could get that hip splay be leaving out the 2l axle that normally joined the two sockets at the hips.

Huwbot set of the day. His random generator may need a reboot.

Yeah early Bionicle was constantly cheating in the product renders. From the "illuminated eyes" on the eye-less Matoran from 2006; to the implausible bends and poses on figures in action including all the 2001 Toa canisters. It looked great when you want to represent the characters as "realistic" and how they would really be like if they were true cyborgs and not Lego toys. But it was a bit deceitful for being used in product packaging since that isn't how the actual toys could move. But few of us as kids in that era really complained, and we ate it all up all the same!
