While I never had this one, I always LOVED the mini Creator 3-in-1 canisters as a kid. I think I still have a few lying around somewhere!
Merry Christmas!
PS. i have this set. And the 2014 successor.
I got this as a gift at my dad's office Christmas party that year, and absolutely loved it. I think it might still be built somewhere
Trains?
On Christmas Eve?
You can't convince me this was "random".
I think I had like 4 of these at one point, one as the steam loco and the others as cars. Great little set. They should do more of these.
Is this Bionicle or Clikits?
When you ask Lego for a new trains set, but Lego is working with a tight budget...

That's the great marketing on this one, 1 is cool but 2,3,5? At least!
Mom!!! lol
Half of me expected they’d rig the system for a day and give us something Christmassy today. Guess it depends on how you feel about trains
This set made me fall in love with Creator 3in1: I played with it more than any other LEGO product, endlessly rebuilding it to see how many different locomotives I could create using those few bricks.
I am now a model designer on the LEGO Creator 3in1 team in Denmark, so I guess I owe this set a lot!
@GeorgGilliatt
Dude! You're living the dream! Good job!
I love this set. It introduced me to the Creator 3-in-1 subtheme and was one of the first to bring me out of my long Dim Age.
Wow! This was my first ever Lego set!
Anyone else catch the error on the picture? On the cab, the light bley 1x1 brick with 3.2 shaft on the side is cut off by a brick behind it. I wonder if that made it to the final box art...
This Set has a Special Place in my Heart because it was the First LEGO Set I ever got
One of my first sets!
I won this for coming 3rd in a Lego competition. still have the diesel engine built. Pity its no good for minifig scale.
