Fabuland!

Gosh, these sets were so cute and sweet, weren't they? I actually really love the large-size flower pieces, although I know they weren't exclusive to Fabuland, but they worked well.

Such a pity that the centuries of peace eventually came to an end, and the realm of Fabuland descended into a war for those blue Chi crystals.

Everything about this set is perfect.

Will be this a sign of the Fabuland era for Huwbot?

Find out after these messages!

And 2 more days until the 2010 sets are possible on this section. Most notable sets include: 3177, last wave for Bionicle until 2015, I think Hero Factory, Prince of Persia, the beloved Toy Story sets, Atlantis, and for laughs, Ben 10.

It's our first ever Fabuland Random Set of the Day!

See, expanding the roster for what could be accepted into the algorithm did pay off, it wasn't just for Bionicle.

Ooh, I'm looking forward to Atlantis and Hero Factory.

Hungry Hungry Hippoes? No. Just thirsty.

I miss Fabuland. I found a Fabuland bear in my bin of legos from my childhood, next to random castle pieces, horses and old space radar dishes. My wife and kids laugh at my 35+ year old LEGO bricks, but I love them!

Those bench pieces are actually very neat!

By in Turkey,

Finally, a Fabuland set. I was too proud of a teen to buy a Fabuland set from the toy store. Now, for the past 20+ years, I look back and feel regret for not buying a single Fabuland set. Look how beautiful and colorful this set is, so lively.

In The Lego Movie I remember Fabuland was shown the montage of themes "we don't talk about" by Wildstyle... Was it actually the case that LEGO Group were ever embarrassed by the theme, or was that just a joke for the sake of the film? I've always wondered.

I thought the line was more like "Don't have time to mention" not just "don't talk about". Bionicle was in that montage too and there's no way Lego is embarrassed by that

By in Singapore,

This is the only Fabuland set we own, before I was born. I still have most of the pieces, including Hannah herself and the two benches which I plan to use in my layout.

By in Italy,

Fabuland could be ripe for a reboot. Kids love anthropomorphic animal figures, like Sylvania Families.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

I don't remember this wave of chima

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not enough gun racks in this set

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Wow, it's not even a transforming hippo-shaped war vehicle with 30 guns on it?

In all seriousness, I grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s and I still find fabuland nostalgic. They're just so incredibly innocent, colourful and sweet looking! I wish we still had smaller sets like these. Not everything has to be a vehicle!!!

Wasn't there a TV show based on this theme? I feel like there was... I think we had, maybe, a couple of episodes we'd recorded off the TV; although I was very little when I saw them, and all I remember clearly was something where the crow pilot got lost in fog.

Or maybe I just dreamed that; I am honestly not sure at this point xD

Otherwise... I dunno, Fabuland was a little before my time, so I never owned any personally. Even after discovering they existed, I've never been completely sure what to make of them. It's mostly those big, specialised pieces, I guess...

There was a TV show, done in Claymation and released in the UK and Canada, I believe.

You bet there was a TV series done in puppet animation, I actually uploaded several episodes to youtube a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keJua4D2Ymg It was called "Edward and Friends".
