Love this set! I always wanted to remake it with a different attachment up front... never did though.
Hashtag NotMyGraniteGrinder :P
Why is Glaciator the one pulling that container with a harness? Is he robbing Duke? That doesn't look like a robbery.
Beautiful set. The mechanism works perfectly and Rock Monsters are the Best!
One of my favorite childhood sets. I got some of my first trans-clear parts in this set (my parents did not like that color as it was so easy to lose).
Ooh! More Power Miners!
My bro had this one, though - not me. I had the mech and the power drill, and later the awesome Crystal King.
Even though it's not Bionicle, we can still talk about Bionicle because look at that Lerahk staff piece recolor!

Aye, it's a favorite of mine!
I remember seeing a MOC of this set where someone made the Bionicle part spin instead of thrust. Probably another reason why I ended up getting this set.
Power Miners!
Oooh, I loved these guys. I made darn sure to collect all the different-coloured little monsters, too.
Power Miners was one of my favorite themes growing up. Out of all the sets my brother and I got this was one was my favorite to play with. The jackhammer function never got old and the sled/container piece made hauling crystals from other sets so much fun!
It's a nice little set but I do not like specialized pieces. They tend to have very limited area of use.
Favourite theme, ever!
Oh I love this set. Such a brilliant age fun little mechanism. I honestly had no idea about it when I bought the set, and so I was very pleasantly surprised when I put it all together and then pushed it around the table for the first time.
Easily one of the top two sets named Granite Grinder! I’m partial to the Rock Raiders one, but this was great too. After 1999 and 2009, it’s disappointing 2019 didn’t have another sci-fi mining theme...

I loved this theme but I think you are right. Have the miners enslaved the rock creatures? Are humans the real monsters?

I figured it must do something, with the elastic band there and all, but actually seeing the little jackhammer in action was actually very funny
11 years old already? Wow.
Anyone else up for a Power Miners reboot?
I remember getting this and the Power Driller on a trip to Walt Disney World. Man collecting all those crystals was cool.
I miss this theme (??)
Wow this set brings back memories!
On of my first lego sets i got :D whwn i was 6!
Also @Speed_champions_fan a agree we need a reboot :)
Much nice, much parts, much fun!
I love the Power Miners theme. I played around with the designs a bit to fit them into Star Wars. Here's an example: https://flic.kr/p/TCZVE5
Power Miners is my favorite theme !
The colours is so bright/beautiful and they catched me and my boy at the first seeing.
I still remembered this theme sets first came out in Lego store Bluewater, they sold out quickly, so I and my 6 yrs boy had to waited for a week .
I also remembered the prices 8956 £2.99/ 8957 £4.99/ 8958 £6.99/ 8959 £14.99/ 8960 £19.99/ 8961 £39.99, so nice!
I had already collected the whole Power Miners themes box sets ( some sets are more than one), now my boy has grown up a young man, he has not been interested in them any longer , but I still often take them out from glazed unit to play with, they brings to my mind happy memories of early ages.
I'll collect them again if this theme come again in furture.
Power Miners was a somehow underrated theme. Granite Grinder may not be my favourite, but it is still very good.
I remember I had so many Power Miners sets, they were so good. Still have them, they're just sadly all broken up in a box now.
My first set with a minifig! I need to buy another one. I really do.
Man, Power Miners was so good. What I wouldn't give to have another solid theme like this...
This theme was literally ending right as I returned to lego. Sad I never got any.
@LegoSonicBoy My guess is forced labor maybe?
Great set overall (even if it is really small)
l feel sorry for the poor rock creature being treated as a slave
These sets sure make for a great addition to any SW themed MOC.

It's really nice to get that Bionicle Rakhshi blade recolored in orange!

My brother had this set too! Such nostalgia...
Rock Raiders and Power Miners are some of the best themes ever!
