Backhoes are the best hoes.
There's a lovely symmetry in going from a front-end loader to a back hoe.
I would recommend getting the backbro, before getting the backhoe
Double windscreens and double printed signs, nice!
Lovely set. Got a lot of play out of this one as a kid. Only thing that has come close to it since was on the back of a 60098 train car.
This along with the dump truck was one of the first LEGO sets my grandma got me!
Good thing there’s a sign pointing out where he should dig. As if he didn’t already know...
Back-hoe’s back, alright!
This is the very first set my parents bought me, back in 1993!
Had this as a kid. The back scoop arm kept falling off on me.
How cool is this set with studs and all...
First time with two Rsotd in a row which I own.
One of my first and favourite sets. Simple design for hours of playtime.
Still the best backhoe around! 4-wide and generous play features.
I'd struggle to compare a 6-wide backhoe today with comparable features.
I still build them like this!
4 studs will always work best for my city layout.
The type of set that works perfectly with trains as well, nostalgic!
that roof piece, I miss it.
Also, what a complete set MEGA play value.
Best set ever!!!
My favourite growing up! I'll have to get it built again and on display so my wife can see where it all started...
Almost pure perfection.
only thing missing is a Bob The Builder minifig.. :)
Good set. Nice pieces, nice build lots of play value
One of my favorite sets as a kid. Unfortunately the arm of the backhoe got loose very quickly and wouldn't pose in the air. :)

The blue circle with arrow is a European "keep right" or "keep left" sign, depending on which way the arrow points. Equivalent to construction signs and barricades in the US. I had several of these printed pieces as a kid and never knew exactly what they were until I traveled to Europe and saw them on the streets when a lane was closed...
In the 1992 UK catalogue, this is named 'JCB.' In subsequent catalogues, it is renamed 'Digger.' I assume this is because JCB, while a colloquial term for such diggers in Britain, is actually a company and a brand. At the time, Lego never did licensed products. Today, maybe they could do a licensing deal with JCB itself.
