Random set of the day: Dream Cottage
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 3270 Dream Cottage, released in 1997. It's one of 10 Scala sets produced that year. It contains 120 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$76.
It's owned by 30 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

"So long as you promise to love me, I won't beat you with this umbrella."
Lepin-brand Clikits
The expression someone has when asking who broke wind.
"Does this look like the face of mercy?"
Oh, Huwbot, you scamp!
Is it weird that there's absolutely no way to tell what the set actually is, from that picture?
For all we know, this Scala resident's "Dream Cottage" has a punishment room in the basement with cabinets full of those little Lego whips.

Peach: Am I a joke to you?
I am sorry but I really need to know who the 30 brick set members who own this set are. I just went to the instructions for this set and it’s like an alternate universe Barbie+LEGO mashup.
Wha... what am I lookin' at?
Those are LEGO?
Glad I never got this for my birthday.
“It’s not Barbie!”
Don't click the "1 minifig" link...
Dude! Those instructions are incredible!
The worst Random Set selections make for the best comments!
wait, is that underwear directly to the right of the figure and next to the umbrella post???
The story setting of the instructions is pretty neat. And our heroine even gets a PC to use in her Dream Cottage.
@commandervideo and @melvlee - I agree! It’s really impressive how much effort went into posing everything for the instructions. It’d be cool if modern sets showed the figures performing some of the steps, too. And I like that the instructions even show the passage of time - at one point she takes a coffee break, and it’s sunset when the framing is finished!
It's a dream come true!
Looking at the instructions, I am disappointed that they went to the effort of making the dream house constructable but not compatible with normal Lego. Just feels so half-hearted
It looks like a bespelled minifig accessory kit.
Scala had some awesome pieces, with the cloth elements being a stand out. I got a few of them off Bricklink, and they are great for MOCing. The people here really need to take a closer look at this theme before judging it.
@Lordmoral They were exiled from the Lego Kingdom many centuries ago, only the bravest of the brave dare to approach their kind. Be careful.
Burn it with fire!!! :)
Oh Huwbot,
With these random set of the day choices, you’re really spoiling us.
Once again its grear reminder to UPDATE your database with proper pictures.
Scala is weird. But those instructions are the best I have seen! I wish they would make them in that style again.

You bastard, I wouldn't have clicked on it, if you hadn't told not to!
I will send the bill of the shrink to you.
I was not expecting that much set based on the database image!
All those accessories would be great in a Playmobil or Sylvanian Families set. In a Lego set...... not so much.
I just clicked on the image of the doll. As a doll she looks quite nice. Were they the same size as Barbie or smaller?
I guess that is from where come some huge oversized, compared to minifigure, goblets and books. It's funny how these are still alive today, while all other scala molds gone, i guess.
Some time ago our LUG received something like 200 of the Scala toilets - no idea why. It's the weird looking piece below the underwear. Folks were challenged to try to figure out how to use it in a MOC. There's no studs or anti-studs on the piece. I think the winner was someone using them for eye sockets.
@Huw- please find a picture for the "minifigure" with clothes on. Its just disturbing.
For International Women's Day, nothing more empowering than seeing a girl build an entire cottage with her bare hands in just one day (seriously, check the manual if you haven't yet).

What is love?
Baby, don't hurt me,
Don't hurt me,
No more...
