Yesterday we had set 6666.
Today we have set 3666.
Coincidence?

yeah probably.

Gosh these sets cute.

Fast forward 30 years, and Lego decided to arm them and give them giant robots.

Are those Duplo studs? I thought this was a System set... Or am I just seeing wrong?

Yeah, but the address on that building is also 66, which is starting to make me think otherwise.
At the very least, Huwbot is beginning to focus on numbers involving 6.

Parts Analysis: Plenty of strange chunky parts, but the tricycle takes the prize. I dare someone to use that in a MOC! The spanner is rare in light grey. The pipe wrench is cool, but begs the question: what are they supposed to use it for?

Well what else but to bludgeon your enemies of course! Fabuland's happy setting is a front, and its citizens are far more sinister than they appear. I mean, that mouse on the roof with a broom is clearly practicing witchcraft. It just makes sense.

That is an awesome tow-trike they have.

Mortimer Mouse is a pretty important Disney character tho...

Happy or nervous as their life is sucked out of them?

Goes with the witchcraft on the roof

Ahhh more Fabuland. I didn't have this one sadly. I have the trike from another set - Peter Panda and Gabriel Gorilla window cleaning services. Amusing Fabuland story time. My Fabuland world was very soap opera like. Ricky Racoon was dating Lisa Lamb. Robby Rabbit was dating Gertrude Goat but Clara Cow had a massive crush on Robbie.
Anyway.... as a kid I didn't know if Gabriel was a girls name or a boys name. So essentially my Gabriel was gender fluid. How modern and 21st century - but in 1985.

Actually thinking about it my Fabuland world was more Made in Chelsea than soap opera.

Everything is good in Fabuland. And with the good eyes

I noticed that too.

Oh! This was my first Lego set as a child (apart from some very old bricks from my Dad)!! And I loved it so much! In Germany the figures were called "Peter Panda" and "Morty Maus" and I still have them (like all my other Fabuland sets that followed).

I picked up a bunch of Fabuland in a bulk purchase a while ago, sold most of it, but kept a few of the figs for my kids as well as the trike above and a scooter. And those aren't duplo studs. Just a close up picture.

Nope they are system.

I didn't have this set but if I remember right from my other sets that Mouse was a rascal. Either playing pranks or being lazy or just being mean.

This also gives me flash backs to what I hated about my Fabu Bakery set. The stickers were put on multiple pieces, making it impossible to take apart and rebuild into something else without destroying the stickers. I can imagine 4 year old me yelling "Whyyyy!!!", thus beginning my life long hatred of stickers.

I think they're more nervous at the prospect of all of those bare, potentially virus infected, hands grabbing all over their pumps! In all seriousness though, I'll take a bit of Fabuland blissful alternate reality right now. I vote for RSOTD being all Fabuland for the duration of this crisis :)

Boy, wouldnt it be great if we had a GWP Fabuland throwback set from Lego this year? Hoping some of the recent vintage offerings continue.

Fabuland sets were rare in the US especially after around 1984. I was lucky that my parents got me a few. Not this one unfortunately.

Well, that monkey wrench is just a disaster waiting to happen. That being said, around here, Channellocks are the cause of most of my hardware headaches.

That being said, even with myself being born way after Fabuland was in stores, I find the theme quite cute.
