By in Australia,

My cousin had this set, when we were kids. I was so jealous. It's a gorgeous house, with tonnes of play value (look at all those people and vehicles).

One of my childhood memories <3

Damn, that looks good.

I wish I wasn't a one year-old baby when this set came out. Aside from hospitals, the other Lego set category I totally missed on collecting are homes and houses. This one comes with an RV! I suppose there is always eBay.

Everything about this is beautiful. And so stocked. House! Boat! Car! Campervan! Minifigs x4!

Totally balanced Set- no need for stickers. How about that yellow roof?!

Ah the 1989 re-release, before we got the 1987 original as the random set of the day. :)
As I wrote back then - very detailed kitchen for its day and the very first use of the mailbox as a cooker/stove. Then it wouldn't be used like that again until 2008 and the Vestas Wind Turbine, believe it or not.

Amazing, amazing set... Too bad that I was into space back then. Years later I look at the pictures of it with envy.

By in Netherlands,

I bought this set from a friend two years ago. Box was included and it is still a nice set to look at.

By in Poland,

I wish they remade sets like that in city. You dont even have to change much, just add some neo standard details, and better car.

How useful 353 pieces were...

They all look so happy.

This is peak LEGO. Top notch!

By in Belgium,

Just a brilliant set; I wish TLC made more sets like this... Or why not a re-release as a GWP, just like we've had the 40th Anniversary Locomotive? That would be a good opportunity to get such a baseplate, BTW.

That would be an incredibly cool GWP. Great idea.

I love that packaging artwork. Very simple, and beautiful.

I converted the covered outside area into a bedroom on mine with two full height windows as there wasn't anywhere inside for the people to sleep.

What a beauty of a set! Even the basic background artwork is lovely.
I wonder if anyone has MOC'd a modern interpretation of this set?

By in Poland,

6388 plus 6590 plus 6592 and you have a beauty leasure diorama.

By in Netherlands,

That's a very nice set. I can't remember ever seeing it in the store though.

Clone people are unsettling.

That was my wife's favourite set as a child so I bought it for her birthday last year - so much joy

They were very literal about this being a double date

By in Puerto Rico,

Love this set even though it's way before my time. It'd be great to own someday.

Gravatar
By in United States,

This set would be 3 different sets today, all at 2x the price of this one (adjusted for inflation...).

Gravatar
By in United States,

This one has been near the top of my Wish List for years!

Re: the clones, perhaps a pair of identical twin brothers married identical twin sisters...

This to me is just pure Lego; this is the aesthetic I'm always harking back to. Also interesting how much 6351 Surf 'n' Sail Camper must have been inspired by this set - I remember getting that in 1992...

Absolutely top-notch set- there's so much play value here, and the aesthetics still hold up today. It doesn't get much more Classic Town than this.
