And just like that, Classic Space is out and Classic Technic is in!

Ah, old Technic sets. I always forget about these, and sometimes can't even recognise if they're meant to be Technic, or some small 90's failed theme, 'cause there were a lot of those kind of themes out there.

By in Australia,

I loved the steering pieces used on this one. They were different to my previous sets.

I’ve got a couple of these. Never built the steamroller... maybe I will now.

I thought I used to have this for a sec before realizing I had 8842. Was wondering why the steamroller didn’t look familiar at all

I thought I had 2 & was preparing to sell one tonight, but found I only had one. I couldn't part with it, so I built it.

Man, the driver has got to have extremely long arms to reach the steering wheel and be sitting down at the same time…

@slobrojoe: but a technic-figure fits in there.
I had this car and I liked it really a lot. It even had two axles in the rear, so steering is great!

A couple of years ago I dug out all of the LEGO my brother & I had as kids to wash, dry, sort into sets, and store for when his kids are old enough to enjoy it (I have enough LEGO of my own to keep me going!)

Anyway.... There were 2 copies of this set, but rather weirdly, I ended up with not enough of the many (many) wheels; the tyres on about a third of them had perished & partially disintegrated off of the rims.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

By in Netherlands,

Another set I had, and still have built with my seperate old LEGO collection.

This set also came with instructions for a supercar combi-model but I never got the other sets for that.

I also used a techic figure to sit in it , only had one from set 8223 Hydrofoil 7 (1996).

Same figure also fit perfectly in the helicopter from set 8825 Night Chopper (1990)

By in United States,

I miss these small Technic sets. Nowadays you need to spend upwards of $30 USD to get the same kind of functionality.

This year's $10 Buggy and Tractor sets are similar. Hopefully they keep those going.
