Love this set. I remember saving some money as a kid and going to target to pick this one up.

Both cars are absolutely perfect.

Those faces tho...

Imagine trying to fit so many figures in one car nowadays...

I can't take this set seriously anymore, after seeing the face on the driver of the front car.

Man, I always wanted this! I only have one Indy set, and this one and the Ark set were always on my list.

Raiders is my second favourite movie of all time yet I own no Indiana Jones sets. Shameful.

By the way, the new AT-AT pics have leaked and it has some nice new features not seen in previous versions. Exciting!

I remember the story with this...

I was just getting into LEGO Indiana Jones and there was a sale on some of the sets at Kmart. So my mum took my younger brother and me to pick one out. I was keen on this, but he wanted the Venice Canal Chase. After arguing about it for a minute or so, I eventually went with his choice and that was what we got.

I still wanted this set though. Therefore, I begged my parents to get it for Christmas. However, I didn’t know a lot of set names then so I called it ‘The Car Chase’. As a result, I received the rather similar Race for the Stolen Treasure instead!

While I do think RftST is my favourite of the Indy sets I own, this one is still one of my most wanted of the theme alongside The Temple of Doom. Meanwhile, the Venice Canal Chase has been in pieces for years, and I doubt I can repair it.

By in Australia,

Its so strange how the Indy face in this set is perfectly fine by modern standards and yet every other face is a monstrosity. The other Indy 2009 sets seem to similarly be mixed bags in terms of face designs

By in Turkey,

Is it me or is the photoshop a bit off with the bumper of the car at the back?

Yeah, I saw that as well.

The faces look bad in the set picture but are fine if you look at them on the actual minifig images.

Indy looks so weird wearing the hat. It looks so incongruous against the suit and he didn’t start wearing it until later in the film, did they not want to give him a hair piece? Were they worried people would’t recognise him?

I wish I had this set since I love old cars!

Im hoping for another Indiana Jones theme with lots of old cars and aircraft along with perhaps some military vehicles too. This set really needs an update.

If I build this set Id love to include a couple of 1x1 studs to represent the shoe boxes Short Round wears to reach the pedals lol.

The set actually does include hair for Indy. It’s just not shown in this image.

Love this theme ,as a kid I convinced myself the movies were trying to teach me history ,later on ,too late for cop on ,realising they were actually fun and slightly educational i got into Indy's antics and would love a re-release of this theme and maybe more Indy movies

I don't know if Temple of Doom is an appropriate movie to make LEGO sets based off... It's not a movie for kids, I can tell you that.

Both of the first movies are pretty gory (They originally got a PG in the US (until TOD resulted in PG-13 being created, but theyve always have been 16+ uncut here)

Also super glad I didnt sell any of my Indiana Jones sets except for Jungle Duel (dont really care for TotCS to begin with, it did have some amazing sets though, the Tent in it was cute though).
They go for so much now

This is the set that brought me out of my second dark age! (It was maybe really just one big long dark age, but I briefly came out around 1999-2002 for the initial Star Wars sets before losing interest in them). I passed this in a Target and loved the old cars and Indiana Jones and couldn't believe they made the latter into Lego sets. It helped that my girlfriend (now wife) loves Indiana Jones too and tolerated me buying this. Little did she know that my Lego buying wouldn't stop after this set...

Nice cars. I'm glad the blatant racism is behind us.

By in Norway,

I've always thought of this as "Horny Hotrod and the Vendetta Van" - my only minor gripe is that the bad guys didn't have tommyguns (luckily I had some spares), they had them in the movie and it fits great with the gangster theme. I usually have Indy and Willie in the front seat sharing a decanter of wine (the diamond held upside-down) and Short Round in the slot in the back, keeping guard in case the bad guys shows up.

Indy is the closest I've been to collecting a complete theme, I have all the sets except four - Peril in Peru (too big, not that interesting), Flying Wing (terribly disappointing model*), Jungle Duel (couldn't find it anywhere) and Chinchilla Cemetery (just didn't care).

*I'd been willing to pay double or triple price if it had looked more like this MOC: https://www.deviantart.com/roaddenberry/art/Lego-Indiana-Plane-252719628
