Random set of the day: Adventurers Car
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 3055 Adventurers Car, released in 1998. It's one of 21 Adventurers sets produced that year. It contains 21 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 505 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.
Help me come to life! If you like the set I've chosen for you today, please pledge your support for me on LEGO Ideas so I have a chance of becoming an official LEGO set!

VROOOM!!!
2 Adventurers sets this week. Huwbot smiles upon us.
The man, the myth, the Lego rides again.
Inspired by these great Adventurers cars, I designed this LEGO Ideas set: the Rover Expedition: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/60beb351-7f98-44f7-88a3-db4be4016a4a
Hope you enjoy!
It wouldnt have killed them to put 1x1 round trans clear plates for headlights on this.
Adventurers Car (or, Johnny Thunder's Go-Kart)
I want Adventurers to be the new Clikits.
I see these sets as developement kit. You buy it and develope it. I have couple of small sets such as this, and I turned it into a more proper set.
Johnny’s Fisher Price Buggy
How good is that grille piece?
Had it been released just two years later this would be the clear favorite to win Brickset's "best since we started" contest!

"It’s really a stretch to call this a car...
Maybe “2x6 on wheels with a figure similar to Indiana Jones” would be a more fitting set name? "
An "Adventurer's Go-Kart" maybe?

Excellent. Supporting, and shared!
The entire Adventurers theme happened during my dark ages so I have zero connection to it. But just recently I bought a couple of used minifigs via BL and among them was Johnny Thunder and something that looked like a female version in a very similar outfit. So at least now I also own a Johnny Thunder even though I don't have any of the sets he came in.
Um. Not one of the greats of the Adventurers line-up, would you say?
I think this may just have been: "we have a grille piece and a Johnny Thunder minifigure; now, what's the least number of pieces we can use to turn them into a marketable set?" xD
Then again, I'm not one to judge, because I loved these little tiny 'nonsense-build' boxed sets where they included one of the theme's appealing minifigures for cheap. Still wish they did those nowadays, honestly.
Also, wasn't this the one that was part of a cereal promotion? I vaguely remember someone showing me it at school, I think it was a... collect so many tokens from cereal boxes, then redeem them for one of three sets, of which this was one of the options?
Hahaha, neat little buggy of great and rightfully famed Adventurers theme, oh yes.
It was a time, when insted of polybags we have small-sized BOXES, yes, boxes, and there were many, many such tiny things - and quite cheap!
Johnny Johnny!
Yes papa?
Getting on RSotD twice in a week?
No papa?
Really 'cause that would've been a good thing I was proud of you
