The other names from this line of slammer type sets are Fast, Hero, and Bad. Top notch naming here guys. Really put in your best efforts. Only the best is good enough.

By in United States,

In my experience, the launchers never worked that well. I never got mine to go that far.

By in Australia,

Between the name and the design, everything about this is weird.

By in Italy,

Strong what. STRONG WHAT?!

By in Australia,

I had Hero and Fast in this line. I didn’t find the stompers to work really well, while you also might have stepped on the the vehicle as well.

The builds were also pretty weak, except Hero, which was the best for that reason.

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.

Strong....

Can't wait for a set called "Weak"

Well, about as much effort went into the name as went into the back of the truck.

Today's RSOTD post is going to be a dog pile, and I am here for that.

By in Turkey,

I'm not even liking the parts in this set.

So how did this not end up in the finals for best set of the last decade? SMDH AFOLs have no taste...

By in Germany,

Yeah these sucked really bad. You couldn't even reliably launch them a few meters, by far the worst power racers line.

This looks weird?...

Man those air pump things just keep finding their way back into themes don't they?

By in United States,

The slammer unit and attachment piece on the truck don't even look remotely like authentic LEGO. And that slammer housing looks 3D printed.

By in Australia,

The air pump elements look 3D printed, I don’t know what this vehicle is really meant to be, “strong” isn’t a name it’s a descriptor. And it’s very kind of LEGO to include a piece of plastic at the front to cause maximum damage to the walls

By in Croatia,

This was actually one of the first LEGO sets I ever got. I remember back in the day, I wanted this set so badly that I convinced my father to buy it for me, with the condition of not playing any video games for 10 days. After that time passed, we went to the store and bought the set.
Looking back, it's not one of the best Racers sets (although I actually do like the Air Stomp gimmick, it worked pretty well for me at least) but it still is quite a nostalgic set to me. So much so, that I recently re-built it, and it has remained on my display ever since.

By in New Zealand,

Oh wow! The pump is used again! I love that piece.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Perhaps it should have been called
PUMP

On second thoughts, that thing looks like a usable basis piece for a gun emplacement in a D-Day MOC. Sans the red pumpy thing of course.

I found that slapping the pumps usually worked better than stomping them.

Honestly, both of these look like prototype pieces from a 3D printer, the actual pieces are a lot smoother, especially the attachment piece. The "barrel" of the air pump also has a rubber piece, to seal against the attachment piece.

By in Finland,

Oh I remember this, as a kid I took only the pump and the part that attaches to it and shot it at a tiny Lego car with crash-test dummy inside it. It was like a nuclear missile test. I stomped the pump and the car exploded. No, more like vaporized. I found pieces on top of shelves and other rooms. It's a miracle all the bricks survived and didn't break. I would say this is the most powerful weapon they have ever made.

By in Canada,

The pump launcher worked fantastically if you attached it to a smaller vehicle.

By in United States,

If you look at all four set's main pictures, they all have different diameter holes in the center to let the air escape from the launch pad. Also only Strong has the LEGO logo on the top of the 3D-printed launcher, lending credence to the theory these were taken pictures of before they were actually finished design-wise!
