It's owned by 221 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Cookpot as a catapult--that's a new one!
And a Kabaya set. Meaning more of that chalky stuff they falsely call candy.
But how heavy is it really? It looks to be just a few grams to me.
The theme I always wished Ninjago would be like...
Ninja was a very cool line that hit just when my Dark Ages were getting underway. I’d kill for a historically realistic Japanese line.
What about even an Architecture set of a Japanese castle? Pretty please?
Bad cook?
@Mr__Thrawn :
It's not really a gun either. And the "Master" is one of the Robbers. With that helmet, I'm thinking more along the lines of masterless Ronin.
But at least they got the "and" correct!
I was a huge Castle collector as a kid, having all sets from the theme from 1984-1994, but if I hadn't been three years into my dark ages by the time this Ninja sub-theme had shown up, it probably would have sent me into them. As a separate theme, sure. But this is not Castle.
I remember getting excited for this theme but somehow the architecture of the larger sets didn't impress me. Figures on the orher hand, were amazing.
Ninjago should have been more like this line right from the start. No mechs, bikes, cars or jets. Just plain location sets, like this line had.
The Ninjago fans are gonna hate me for saying this, but to be honest, I like Ninja 1999 a lot more than Ninjago at this point.
Rap duo Master and Heavy Gun were big in 1998 with tracks like Brick the System, From 5 til 10, and Blocks 3016. Clearly inspired by the Wu-Tang Clan and their Shaolin Kung Fu influences, Master and Heavy Gun had their Samurai gimmick.

European catalogues featured the ninjas as a seperate line. The (catalog-)set numbers of the line however got the castle prefix 60-, thus the categorization.
Has he got gills??
This was more appropriately relabeled as Ninja blaster 1099 in the following year when TLG realized that there was no heavy gun? The larger sets still look fantastic , e.g. 6089 Stone Tower Bridge and 6093 Flying Ninja Fortress, and capture the Ninja spirit. Pity the new Monkey theme couldn't have looked at similar Chinese architecture and history, as also originally set in the ancient past.
@ambr monkie kid is only getting started, if it's successful who knows what other stuff they might have planned for the future.
It's a heavy gun because that cooking pit is made of cast iron.
Oh they had toilet roll flingers back then too. The tp is kinda grey tho, must be recycled.
This heavy gun looks a lot like a catapult to me
Classic Ninja! Classic Ninja! Classic Ninja! :D
...okay, NOT a shining example of the theme, right here xD But still, something about this line is still just so appealing to me; it has a real sense of atmosphere and character... even if it naturally does take some liberties with historical accuracy!
The fact that it was this one that first introduced me to Lego themes as a whole - by way of the UK Lego Adventures magazine, which featured Ninja in its first ever comic strip - may play a big part in why I like it so much; though I only had one set at the time, it's, like, the epitome of Lego nostalgia for me, along with Adventurers and Rock Raiders. I'd love to get more of the old sets from this theme someday, if they weren't so elusive / expensive on the secondary market xD
@CliveyB - Stylised sideburns, I believe! They were all the rage for Lego Minifigures in the late 90s; everyone from Johnny Thunder, to the Shogun and his arch-enemy (the guy here), to Docs from Rock Raiders seemed to sport some variation on the theme.
Ninjago definitely could use a castle-infusion style for a wave. A nod back to shoguns, battering rams, and siege towers would be fantastic. And lots of horses.
Yea! Master that heavy gun!
I miss those realistic (or at least semi-realistic) historical lines. These days there are barely any sets without monsters, mechs or motorized vehicles...

Same with the American catalogues.
It... isn't even a gun...
No, see, those are very short-barrelled cannons.
