Good old Power Miners. Gotta say though, I'd hate to see the workplace health and safety report on that particular piece of mining equipment...

Oh, huh, that's interesting. Never knew they got even smaller than the Stone Chopper! This one almost looks comical.

"You think they’d put a little more protection on these vehicles, so a chunk of rock doesn’t hit you in the head as you’re hacking at it."

Isn’t that what the helmet is for?

Wow if I were a rock I’d definitely be scared.

Oh no! I’m about to be hacked by an orange thing.

Google is next.

Hot diggity, Power Miners was my jam. Solid color scheme, great rock dudes, and just about all of the sets had some impressive and unique functions

I've always loved power miners.

By in Turkey,

This looks like a sorry excuse to find a way to insert ATV in a theme.

There an actual mechanism to that things big orange jackhammer or do you have to move it manually?

Giant finger tapping machine.

I always liked Rock Raiders more than Power Miners, though both of them are cool.
My main problem with Power Miners was that every set I owned had at least one piece break down while I was building them.

Brickalili you have to move it manually, its just a simple pivot with no mechanism. This was an ok promotional packet, although the most popular sets were larger mining vehicles (all around 200 pieces so price reasonable) which included either an adult or child rock monster, e.g. 8707. I miss these monsters as they all had different names depending on the color of their lower half, and must of been amused by all these crazy miners run around obsessed by colored bits of plastic. The ultimate set (which I've never seen) was a mining conveyor belt plant, which from the photos I never really understood the purpose of if someone could explain to me?

Power Miners is one of my favourite themes ever. I’ve made it my mission to collect all of the sets, including polybags, and right now this is the only one I’m missing. It’s annoying becuse this set goes for around £13 on bricklink, and that’s way more than I’d like to pay for a polybag.

I dunno, as a die-hard Rock Raiders fan, for me Power Miners was like... you know when a reboot is made of one of your favourite TV shows? And the reboot isn't bad at all (and might even be better); but no matter how much you want to, you just can't fully enjoy it because you keep remembering everything you loved about the original instead?

That's 100% me to Rock Raiders and Power Miners. Nostalgia is a powerful thing!

Still though, I really like that Power Miners occupies for a different generation of Lego fans that same nostalgic niche that Rock Raiders did for me; it's so cool to see that same kind of enthusiasm for these, when they come up, that I hold for the older take on the theme :D
