The man. The myth. The legend.

Duracell Bad Guy > Energizer Bunny

Duracell literally got whatever spare parts were lying around with this promo

By in United Kingdom,

There was only one hook going, but Duracell did get that black 2l axle

He's HERE.

What was that about ghastly Bionicle sets on the last random set of the day, eh
@AustinPowers ? ;-)

By in Australia,

And we swung back to Bionicle, and what a way to do it.

I was just about to ask, "is this character's name Gratis?" then I remembered. Maybe his name could be Gratis, I mean, it sounds suitably Bionicle-y.

By in Australia,

Does anyone have any lore on this figure. Bad Guy sounds like a really meaningful name on the storyline ;)

Durac Ell was a malevolent figure that was secretly the most important villain in the series. Makuta was nothing but his puppet.

They keep neglecting to include the batteries in the part listings for these sets. Ugh

By in United States,

I still have this beautiful set built to this day. No other set rivals his greatness except Good Guy himself.

Think about it: The other Duracell Bionicle promotion 7216 was the random set of the day two months ago on 9/11.

Coincidence? I think not.

Apparently 8721-1 Velika was actually a Great Being in disguise, so you never known

Nope. His appearance suggests he might have been a Matoran equivalent for the Skakdi, the race from which the Piraka hail. But thorough as Greg Farshtey was, he never gave this guy or any like him a story role.

Oh heck yeah. Now HERE'S a set I regret not getting back in '06!
(it's actually only half sarcasm, believe it or not. I do kinda want this ugly dude)

And this is what I get for falling asleep early. Too late to make a decent quip now. I've missed 5 hours of likes, which is unacceptable. I have failed you Bionicle, and for that I am sorry.

By in Latvia,

So, this is the main villain from Bionicle, and he's sponsored by Duracell? He must be really powerful

By in Netherlands,

I'm one of the 164 xp

By in Poland,

Where's the Bionicle lore guy?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Clearly the arch nemesis of that damn bunny.

Also, wasn’t this guy supposed to be a toy even in universe? Him and Good Guy were supposed to be like puppets or dolls that the Matoran used to tell their folk stories

Am I the only one thinking “what the heck is this..?” All the bionicle stuff happened during my dark ages, and sometimes I’m thankful for that.

It's just a promo polybag that came with Duracell batteries. Nothing more. The actual Bionicle sets are much much better than those promotional items, trust me.

Is this is what's inside if you a skin a duracell bunny?

Gratis is the dutch word for free.

QUICK Bad Guy Yellow is the best of these.

Oof, what an ugly pile of parts xD

...though to be fair, if I was given only those exact same pieces to work with, I doubt I'd have done any better!

In one aspect, though, he's ahead of the Matoran sets of that year, who had empty heads quite literally: for some reason, Garan and Dalu and their pals weren't given the eye/brain piece that went with their heads; while this guy, for all his shortcomings, at least has that piece in place, so you can't see out the back of his skull when you look into his eyeholes!

I always liked the Bad Guys/Good Guys/ Even though they were just random jumbles of spare parts with absolutely no story signifigance they're freakin' adorable. I always headcannoned they were Nynrah Ghosts who went through extensive body mods.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

@legoverslinder :
I'm pretty sure that's just a coincidence. It's also Spanish, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Afrikaans for "free". I mean, that last one isn't too surprising, since Afrikaans is basically just a divergent form of Dutch. Most likely it was included because it's Spanish. French would have been the other likelihood, except their word is gratuit.

I kinda like this thing though. As someone else said, he looks like what a Matoran version of a Skakdi would be. Or perhaps he is simply a Skakdi midget.
