By in United Kingdom,

This is the 5th RSotD in a row where the focal point is a car, or in this case a 4-wheeled vehicle that uses a motor.

Good thing he's got a Bluetooth headset. That monster phone would cause brain cancer for sure, if you can actually see the atmospheric distortions caused by the radio waves it emits!

Well 6 days ago was a castle with a 4 wheel catapult/trebuchet and then a tractor, so I vote a week straight

By in Australia,

I wish we still got good space sets. This isnt the best example but I liked the 2011 City line, the new one was far too futuristic for my liking. I also wish Lego would focus more on developing a space centre i.e mini NASA Cape Kennedy etc.

Speaking of which, I would love to see an Apollo theme with City scale lunar lander, command module, maybe a scaled down Saturn V and launch tower. Some 1960s era vehicles.

Maybe even some Mercury and Gemini mission stuff, or 1950s era jet fighter with a Willys-esque jeep to go with it i.e flight tests in the desert.

The Space Port subtheme felt like a downgrade from the Launch Command subtheme from only 4 years earlier. I remember being excited that I could add these to my Launch Command stuff only to decide they werent for me.

By in Netherlands,

He is driving a moon buggy on what looks like Mars, but he is not wearing a helmet? 90's cover art was interesting to say the least!

By in Turkey,

Somehow nothing interests me in this set.

By in Canada,

This set has so much Blacktron potential.

By in Australia,

I really felt like a lot of those late 90s sets (particularly the smaller Spaceport sets) were constructed from just random excess pieces they had lying around the factory.

"Hey Bob, we've got a tonne of these transparent dishes."
"Just throw them into some new Spaceport sets!"

Just another awful example of the late 90's for LEGO

Ya don’t see $3 LEGO anymore I can tell you that. (Why are the collectible minifigs $5!)

This thing didn’t even come with a helmet? He’s riding around another planet in his shirtsleeves?

At least it has wheels!

*cough* 6801 *cough*

So given the moon is right there in the background and our driver isn’t wearing a helmet, is he just in a desert on Earth somewhere communicating with someone who is actually on the moon with that big old satellite dish on his buggy?

By in United Kingdom,

As indicated by the baseball cap this is possibly the Nevada desert test vehicle for Lunar Rover 6463

By in Germany,

This is obviously the test article, being driven around the desert by a test technician. This explains the lack of a helmet, the Moon being visible in the background, and why altogether the whole thing feels still a bit ... buggy.

6801 with repulsorlift tech is superior.
