Does it count as a jetpack if it uses a propeller to remain airborne?

Having a chainsaw for a hand has to make it tough to go to the bathroom...

I think I actually have the entire run of villains from this theme, all hanging out in the volcano base

By in United States,

Those skis on the snowmobile are Bionicle parts...

Do we have any lore on those? :P

Well he made short work of that baddie. He didn’t even have to do anything but show up, and he scared the villain into waltzing off the cliff! Talk about presence...

The parts used are Kopaka Nuva’s Ice Blades, which could either be wielded as dual swords, a single double-ended melee weapon or be attached to Kopaka’s feet for use as ice skates for quicker travel across the frozen terrain. He could also channel his ice powers through the blades to create ice or freeze existing water. He once used the weapon to freeze a lake the Rahkshi Guurahk, Lerahk and Panrahk had fallen into, trapping them.

When Kopaka received his adaptive armour, the weapon was replaced by his Blizzard Blade.

By in United States,

Another great unlicensed theme

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I’d love a return to this theme, but not like ultra agents from a couple years ago.

Gravatar
By in United States,

One of my favorite themes as a kid! This one was always a great smaller set.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

So many great memories with the og agents theme

Gravatar
By in United States,

Happened to pick this up back in the day, it didn't persuade me to buy any other sets from the theme but the jewel case element was appealing and Agent Chase remained my special ops minifig of choice for years.

Unique: 1
44032 large figure weapon, blade with three pin holes in pearl light grey x2

Rare: 1
30332 propeller, three blades, 9L diameter in pearl light grey x1

By in United States,

So they didn't think of using the "chainsaw arm" piece for Razor-Fist from the recently unveiled Shang-Chi sets?? (Yes I'm salty. Didn't own any Agents sets but I enjoyed Ultra Agents a lot.)

I guess this guy saw them lying around and used them for his snowmobile after, right? ;) Although judging by the box art, they're now sitting at the bottom of a snowy ravine with a bunch of other snowmobile parts.

By in United States,

I have this one! The stickers are unfortunately peeling (as they are on a lot of my favorite old sets, unfortunately); the "jetpack" is actually probably my favorite part of this set, it's surprisingly chunky and offered a lot of play value.

@Harmonious_Building:
The last appearances of that robot arm were for two different versions of Apocalypse Benny two years ago. The mold may have been scrapped by now, or they may have just decided that a clearly robotic arm didn't fit the look of the character (it's also possible Disney decided this for them).

By in United States,

Kinda busy tonight so I'll keep the lore brief.

Dr. Inferno was a sinister evil mastermind bent on world domination. He would often outfit his elite henchmen with cybernetic enhancements, including Saw Fist here. One of Saw Fists missions was to steal an energy crystal from a mountain base, though he was thwarted by a jetpack-mounted Agent Chase

By in United States,

I honestly wish TLG would remake themes like this, they were so much better than most things they make nowadays.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Love this theme, you can tell it stands the test of time when 8635 is still being remade under the banner of others themes. Thinking of getting the Batman one for nostalgia purposes. (Though I suppose you could count 8635 as a remake of 4746 even if the design was fundamentally changed)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Its kinda wild that kopaka nuva's swords were brought back after 6 years out of production, for this one tiny set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Just put one of these up for sale on eBay (with a brand new unused sticker sheet too!) if anyone is interested. Feel free to take a look if you'd like :)

By in United Kingdom,

It’s slightly jarring seeing muzzle flares on official Lego box art. They’d done, like, futuristic lasers flashing about but I think this is one of the few times they’ve done realistic gunfire

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

I have this one! It is a very fun little impulse set, with some great figures. I love the bad guy figure, his design gives me the impression that he is some sort of robot disguised as a human (kind of like a Terminator, if you will).

What was the problem with Ultra Agents, again? A lot of people seem to think that it was a big downgrade from Agents, but in my opinion it was just as a good if not better. At the very least, you have to give credit to the Ultra Agents villains being more unique and diverse.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I don't like all those stupid guns. Not very child friendly.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Agents came after my time with Lego, but I gotta like unlicensed themes.

Gravatar
By in Portugal,

This is a set that I love! I need to get it soon.

Gravatar
By in Slovenia,

You just have to like Agents :))

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Very fond of this little set, one of my first new purchases after emerging from my Dark Ages. I bought several of the others too, and then went on to collect all the Agents and villains, having just discovered Bricklink thanks to Brickset (cheers @Huw!)

For me it's the absent color scheme and style. The whole theme is all over the place in terms colors and vehicle style. I'm not necessarily saying, that every faction needs a uniform color scheme, but it could've been handled way better. Also Agents is a lot more grounded, Ultra Agents very much leans into the supervillain vs super hero thing, while Agents was more about Agents with fancy tech vs very violent criminals.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Agents is a fantastic theme! This set here might be one of the weakest, though IMHO...

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I had a few agents sets. Always wanted this one. Up with unlicensed themes and up with cool cheap sets!

This. Agents was semi ‘realistic’, almost like a parallel universe James Bond theme. Ultra Agents is just like every other ‘tech’ Lego theme that they so dearly love (see: Nexo Knights). "

Not necessarily. The swords were also used in 2004 on 4743 in Light Bluish Grey and 4745 in Sand Blue. They were later used in 2006 on 7783, in Light Bluish Grey again. So they’d been consistently in production up until this point.

By in United Kingdom,

This was one of my absolute favourite small sets as a child, with two impressive vehicles and Saw Fist, who was among my favourite minifigures.

In fact, everything about Agents was amazing! This is the only instance I am aware of where my bias towards an older theme limited my enjoyment of its successor, in Ultra Agents.

All jetpack joking aside I can completely understand that. There's a weaponized jetski with a guy with a chainsaw hand and a guy with a "jetpack" dual wielding guns. Kid me could've played with that for ages.

By in Germany,

Saw Fist's head is brilliant for a Terminator figure, especially if you paint over the robotic eye with a thin red marker.

Heh. For me it's Alpha Team (especially the first wave) kind of overshadowing Agents.

Bruh, everyone keeps being limited by their nostalgic bias and fail to see the merit of newer iterations of a theme they grew up with. This is a common problem I see with a lot of AFOLs those days...

AFOLs should take off their Nostalgia Googles more often and enjoy LEGO themes for what they actually are.

I can relate to that! Though for me, it was Rock Raiders and Power Miners, respectively xD

Personally, I never got into Agents. This was through no fault of the theme's own, just its timing: it came around just as I was starting to slip towards my 'dark age'. So while I paid attention to its existence - at least, the first year of - I felt no compulsion to pursue any of the sets. That was the case for me with a lot of the new-for-2007/2008 themes, in truth; Aqua Raiders and Mars Mission passed me by in the same way. By 2009 I only knew what was what because I was still getting the Lego Club magazine, and even then didn't pay much attention to it; I reappeared briefly in 2010 for the Toy Story sets, then plunged into my 'dark age' for real.

In hindsight, I like to imagine Agents as a sequel series to Alpha Team; to my (slightly biased?) eye, many of the team members from Agents' first wave look like they could be the children of the Alpha Team characters, following in their parents' footsteps by becoming secret agents themselves to thwart a new generation of villains who rose up when Ogel was defeated. I kinda saw Agent Charge as potentially being Dash's son - they have the same hair, similar grin, and he could have been named for Dash's best friend on his old team - and the headcanon kinda spiralled from there!

By in Israel,

Wait, why is this agent trying to hurt Zane from ninajgo?
Joking aside, lots of nostalgia for this theme!

By in United Kingdom,

Quite a good likeness for a snow jet-ski with the twin skis and single track. Guess there is a story behind being the only ever amputate mini-fig at the elbow, appearing in just two sets. Unsure about the long pole with radar on one side, but the plinth with container for the diamond is cool.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@ambr:
What are you talking about? Besides the fact that the robot arm was used on several human minifigs (in fact, the second use ever was a Blacktron I/II hybrid cyborg who also had a metal leg), Darth Vader is technically the first minifig with an arm that was amputated at the elbow. It’s just not obviously a cybernetic prosthesis.

By in United States,

This was a neat surprise to see as the random set of the day. I have fond memories of this set. My father took me to then Downtown Disney for the day and bought me this at the LEGO store, and then we went home and I built it. It's a pretty good set, but the connection to a good memory with my dad is what makes me fond of it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Between this and the recent Space Police set of the day, I've been sadly disappointed by the quality of some of the pictures for these sets that are a little over a decade old. Obviously this isn't the fault of Brickset—the web was a very different place back then—but I can't help but dream of some point in the future where Brickset can potentially improve the images for sets like these, either by another source for the official pictures surfacing somehow or by getting higher quality scans of boxes or instructions.

Gravatar

Man this line was so violent, shame I only bought a couple of sets from this line.
