By in United States,

That face on the left is one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen in my life.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I can't even really tell what I'm looking at, but that monster face is horrifying.

Gravatar
By in United States,

That must be the face of the monster that the guy on the left wants to grab.

It's a Technic Creator 3-in-1, but what a bizarre way to advertise it. With a name like Stunt Race, it implies more than one vehicle at a time; a truly odd set. And yeah, that face... That face is something else, man.

By in Germany,

It actually wasn't 3 models. You buil a couple of modules that could be connected in different ways to create the 3 individual 'games'.

It's interesting for the amount of exclusive teal and old purple parts like the wheels and the cyber slam shooter/arrow. Also the guiding tracks (which are barely visible here) are entirely exclusive to this set.

The huge motor block (which is Technic's approach at juniorization) however came in 2 other sets that year.

The upgraded version of Nick Stryker looked pretty cool in his Mad Max style armor though....

Why Cyberslam 2.0 (which this set is 1 of the 2) changed from the black and teal/purple to teal/orange and purple/lime was weird somehow...

"We built you a new stunt car."
"Great. But where's the driver's seat?"
"See those two sticks on top? You hold on to those..."

By in United States,

I actually own the ‘Turbo Racer’ from this. No spares to make any of the other builds though.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Yup, that sure is a set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

The background looks like Slizers and Robo Riders

We now enter The Hall of Retired Parts.

By in United States,

I move to refer to this set as "Stunt Face" as I'm sure the current name is just a misspelling.

By in Australia,

Is this like an odd Shrek/Mad Max/Rollerball crossover?

90$
392 pieces
Year 2000

What a bargain....

Gravatar
By in United States,

Okay then. I’ve got nothing to say about this one.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm just trying to take in everything going on there...

Gravatar
By in Croatia,

The year 2000 featured the last ever apparence of the Technic figures, never to be seen since.

In my opinion, LEGO really should bring the Technic figures back someday, because without them, most of the Technic sets of today are severly lacking. Not having any sort of drivers for all the Technic vehicles they keep releasing today makes them quite boring.

The turn of the New Milennium was a lawless wasteland for the Lego Group designers.

@LegoDavid:
The problem there is that Technic figs have a tiny fraction of the accessories that minifigs have. There's two types of helmet, two types of helmet visor, two types of chest armor, a scuba tank, swim fins, skis, and ski poles, that I know of. There's only two hairstyles, which are "standard male" and "bald cyborg". The male hair isn't removable and has to fit inside the helmet. There isn't a large print library available, and most of the designs look like coveralls used by pilots or race car drivers. To make the Technic fig useful for a wider variety of sets, they'd really need to be able to branch the design into construction, which would mean having to figure out how to add a construction helmet that wouldn't fall off. It'd also mean having to make sure that every Technic set was built to the same scale, if they're not already.

By in Netherlands,

Mom, can i have that lego set? The one with the disturbing box art and the unclear what they are vehicles, please?

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Genuinely having a hard time seeing what’s going on in those box art images. I’m unclear what’s supposed to be actual vehicle and what’s obstacle. Judging by that monster face’s expression it’s having the same issue

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

I have never seen this set before. It's not on my 2000 LEGO catalog. Had it been, I would've recognized it immediately. How peculiar!

Again, the picture shown here on Brickset is actually the picture used on the instructions, not on the Box Art. The actual Box Art for this set is a lot clearer (you can view it on Bricklink).

By in Denmark,

Not a hugely popular set.
1 new and 10 used for sale on BL.
Zero sold the last 6 months.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Those were dark days for Lego.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Oh hey, I have this one. I believe I got it for Christmas or 'Sinterklaas', but in my memory I was older than the 4~5 years I would be at the time of release.
It's been apart for years, but I remember it actually being really fun to play with, with the contraptions and the big, invisible on that photo, plastic parts to 'steer' the car. I'm afraid I lost those parts though.

It has an electric motor part just like 42124 : Off-Road Buggy

$129.99
374 pieces
Year 2021

By in United States,

"wheel shooter" sounds like some sort of automobile repair place gadget or something that takes your tires off and shoots them at oncoming traffic.
"Buy the NEW Tire Shooter! For when you want to lay siege to oncoming cars!"

Gravatar
By in United States,

That is rather astounding! This is a set I have never seen nor heard of before!

Gravatar
By in United States,

@LegoTiger72376 :
In all fairness, it does appear to be shooting a pair of wheels. I’m just not sure why. From what I can determine, there’s a trigger arm that you have to use to strike a target on the scorpion thing. By doing so, you cause the wheels to be ejected from the front of the let’s-be-generous-and-call-it-a-vehicle. To what end, though? They clearly aren’t going to hit the green scorpion thing, which you’ve theoretically defeated anyways by scoring a direct hit on its target. I mean, I suppose launching a pair of wheels across the room ranks quite a bit higher in terms of “preferable ways to show you succeeded” than getting shot right in the face with a missile the size of your own head...

By in United States,

I've been a Bricklink member since 2009; lost countless hours just looking at assorted sets here; and I still didn't know they made this thing. Featurewise, it's great. Bad design-wise, sinful price-per-part ratio. Even with the electric motor, it should not have cost $90 20 years ago.

I see in BL, these are not hugely valuable sets. May buy one to mess with.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

"WHAT ARE YOU DOIN' IN MAH SWAMP?" - creepy face on the left

Gravatar
By in United States,

My first impression was that these were three individual sets and this was a bundle. Truly strange packaging.
