Review: 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle
Posted by CapnRex101,
Marvel Super Heroes products are sometimes maligned based upon their various inaccuracies when compared with the movies, although such issues generally relate to spoiler avoidance. The unpopular Avengers: Endgame range produced particular disappointment.
Fortunately, any misleading reference materials and spoilers are no longer important, hence 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle achieves much greater accuracy than 76131 Avengers Compound Battle. Furthermore, an exceptional group of characters is provided, including Scarlet Witch and an exclusive rendition of Thanos.
Minifigures
Numerous appealing minifigures are available here, notably including Iron Man. The advanced Mark LXXXV armour returns from 76131 Avengers Compound Battle and features considerable detail, displaying metallic gold and silver highlights which compare favourably with the onscreen character. However, dual-moulded pearl gold and dark red arms would certainly have enhanced this minifigure.
The helmet includes a hinged faceplate, which opens to reveal Tony Stark's double-sided head underneath. One side displays a confident smile while the other includes a blue HUD, matching past minifigures. These designs are reasonable but an exclusive version, seeming more rugged, would have been preferable. Tony's black hair piece appears excellent though.
Captain America only appeared once among the original Avengers: Endgame sets, wearing his Quantum Suit. This minifigure is accordingly unique, including an exclusive torso element which resembles the design from 76101 Outrider Dropship Attack and corresponds with this onscreen character. The intricate pattering around the silver star is particularly impressive.
The double-sided head is shared with previous Captain America minifigures, integrating a strap on one side with a smiling expression on the other. Steve Rogers' medium nougat hair element therefore accompanies the minifigure and he wields his traditional shield with Mjolnir, while Iron Man carries the shield that appears during Avengers: Infinity War. Two stickers adorn this shield and display appropriate detail.
Thor was shrouded in particular secrecy before Avengers: Endgame was released, hence the minifigure from 76126 Avengers Ultimate Quinjet appeared quite similar to past versions of the character. This minifigure instead incorporates a suitably bedraggled hair piece and beard, with grey flecks in the facial hair. Thor closely resembles the figure from 76193 The Guardians' Ship, differing only because his arms are pearl grey here.
Following her memorable appearance during WandaVision, Scarlet Witch has become even more popular. Unfortunately, the character has only appeared in two previous LEGO sets and this design seems fairly bland, especially when compared with the example from 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle. Retaining the hair piece and fabric jacket tails from the previous minifigure would definitely have enhanced this example.
Moreover, I dislike the smiling expressions which are completely inappropriate for Wanda. The selection of trans-pink accessories seems strange too, since the heroine's magical abilities are usually depicted in red. These elements are appreciated though and Thor wields Stormbreaker, which appears authentic beside the original weapon.
Four different Black Panther minifigures have been created since 2016, including three based upon the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This rendition is certainly my favourite, displaying various purple and lavender highlights which denote the kinetic energy charge. The silver necklace and surrounding details compare favourably with the onscreen character as well.
Unfortunately, the arms and legs both remain undecorated, although the head features superb detail. I particularly like the Wakandan letters which adorn the reverse, even though their small scale only enables identification of three letters as '...AK...N'. Another head, showing T'Challa's face, would have been appreciated but the present minifigure is satisfying.
Ant-Man has appeared twice previously in nanofigure form and this design strongly resembles that from 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle. However, the dark red and metallic silver decoration is unique, appearing more accurate to the onscreen character. Of course, a standard minifigure would have been wonderful too, although six different heroes are already provided.
Appealing though those heroes are, the new Thanos bigfig is undoubtedly the highlight of this entire set. While his proportions have remained unchanged, the figure features a rotating head which is extremely unusual among the numerous bigfigs produced since 2007. Additionally, the head can be completely removed and shares similar proportions to traditional minifigures, even including a functional stud on top!
Four additional studs are located on Thanos' back. These seem reminiscent of the outstanding Bane bigfig from 70914 Bane Toxic Truck Attack, although the studs are not actually used here. Otherwise, this figure maintains consistency with other bigfigs, integrating articulated arms and hands while the torso features attractive golden armour. This definitely improves upon previous Thanos figures.
Thanos employs a powerful double-bladed sword during Avengers: Endgame and this weapon looks quite impressive. The blades are curved which deviates from the jagged source material, although their reversed orientation is appropriate and the bigfig can grip the sword neatly. The blades can also split because another 3L bar is provided to form a separate handgrip.
The original Chitauri minifigure was introduced during 2012 and an updated design appeared among the Avengers: Infinity War sets. However, those each leave something to be desired so this minifigure is welcome. The head represents a particular improvement, integrating a golden helmet that corresponds with the onscreen warriors.
Intricate decoration continues across the torso, where the Chitauri's alien skin is visible beside mechanical detail. The legs are plain which is somewhat disappointing, especially because the minifigure from 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle did include printed legs. This character carries a stud shooter, rather than the excellent rifle from 76186 Black Panther Dragon Flyer.
The Completed Model
76131 Avengers Compound Battle encapsulated issues which affect numerous Marvel Super Heroes sets, including unfortunate inaccuracies and superfluous vehicles. Those issues were understandable, given the notable secrecy surrounding Avengers: Endgame. 76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle therefore improves upon its predecessor quite dramatically!
Nevertheless, consistent features remain intact between both models. The shape of the New Avengers Facility was established during Avengers: Age of Ultron and both structures capture that design effectively. However, the new model excludes the garage section which is certainly beneficial in my opinion, permitting greater focus upon the most important building. This model therefore measures 35cm wide, including the flanking structures.
Those supplementary structures are connected to the main building using Technic pins, hence they can be removed with ease. The first represents the destruction caused by Thanos' arrival and looks impressive, featuring shattered edges around the wall panel. However, this appears somewhat strange because the primary headquarters building is completely intact. Maybe this section of wall could have been detached from the central structure.
Defensive measures are destroyed before they can be deployed during Avengers: Endgame, although the New Avengers Facility likely does include such measures. This missile launcher seems accordingly appropriate and is integrated nicely, featuring a turntable underneath. The shooting function is excellent as well, although I would have preferred some additional ruins.
While the central headquarters building is considerably larger than its predecessor from 2019, this structure only measures 19cm wide and is relatively shallow. However, its external design demonstrates reasonable accuracy to the source material, including large windows across the front. The projecting window on the upper level appears particularly authentic.
The entrance is simple but does include a stickered security console, requiring minifigures to register their hand print. Of course, the necessary hand print therefore matches a minifigure's distinctive claw! The dark blue highlights beneath the door look appealing too, complementing the matching accents which appear throughout this whole model.
Dark blue bands therefore separate different floors when viewed from outside. Otherwise, the exterior is rather plain which corresponds with the onscreen location, although communication equipment is placed on the roof. The rotating antenna is presumably required when contacting characters travelling beyond Earth, including Captain Marvel, Rocket Raccoon and Nebula.
The interior is divided into three sections, including a small laboratory which contains various enjoyable details from Avengers: Endgame. The inverted Möbius strip, devised by Tony Stark and stabilising paths through time, is provided with Tony's advanced Nano Gauntlet. This vital accessory is represented by a dark red gauntlet element and can fit over a minifigure hand.
Unfortunately, the Nano Gauntlet lacks decoration which is disappointing, especially because the matching gauntlet from 76144 Avengers Hulk Helicopter Rescue is absent. The trans-light blue screens surrounding the gauntlet look splendid though, showing where the Infinity Stones would be attached. Despite lacking a detailed Nano Gauntlet, I am pleased with this laboratory.
The neighbouring space contains a prison cell, featuring trans-red lasers across the entrance. They are unusually assembled using antennas and actually make use of the spherical toppers as attachment points, which is incredibly rare. Each antenna stretches through a Technic frame and I think the resultant design looks appealing.
Lowering the Technic frame provides easy access to the prison cell, which contains adequate room for several minifigures. However, the packaging emphasises that this cell is intended for Thanos, hence no roof is provided to accommodate a taller character. Of course, this prison is not present during the movie but it certainly offers some enjoyable play value.
Thanos appears delightfully silly when imprisoned, barely squeezing inside the modest prison cell. There are alternative uses for this space which may have been more appropriate, notably including the time machine, but I am satisfied with this prison. After all, the time machine would have needed significant scaling down and could potentially appear at a realistic size in a future set.
The meeting chamber that appears onscreen returns from 76131 Avengers Compound Battle, now including more modern furniture. The trans-clear 4x4 ring plate around the table appears particularly attractive and I like the contrasting dark blue seats. The printed Avengers emblem looks perfect too, although the shrub in the corner could perhaps have been enlarged.
Natasha Romanoff receives updates from the remaining Avengers via hologram, following the Snap. Two stickered holograms are therefore included, displaying Captain Marvel and Rocket Raccoon. Both characters are reportedly on patrol and their minifigure styling is fantastic. The gun rack also appears reasonable and these weapons presumably belong to Natasha.
Luis' notoriously ugly Ford Ecoline van, which was introduced during Ant-Man, is exclusively available here and appears suitably hideous! The boxy shape seems authentic and I love the dubious reddish brown, dark brown and medium nougat colour scheme. The model measures 14cm in length, thereby resembling various City vehicles in scale and proportions.
The truncated bonnet definitely appears reminiscent of City vehicles and the simple radiator structure looks excellent. Furthermore, I like the angular bumper which seems realistic, even though Luis' van should include a bullbar. The medium nougat stripe looks rather bright when compared with the original van but I think this shade is more appropriate than dark orange, for example.
Stripes continue across both flanks of the van, interrupted by trans-orange side lights towards the front and rear. The dark brown band looks particularly effective and I like the curved wheel arches, which have never appeared in reddish brown before. The simple 6x6 tiles covering the roof seem surprisingly successful too, capturing the aforementioned boxy profile shape.
Removing these tiles reveals the interior, which is comparatively spacious but features limited detail. The steering wheel and stickered dashboard are both reasonable while the rear section remains completely empty. Some mechanical detail relating to the Quantum Tunnel might have been nice, but leaving the space vacant provides customisation or storage options.
Clear-backed stickers adorn either side of the van, displaying authentic 'X-Con' branding. The back includes another such sticker which features Ant-Man's unusual helmet, beside two ants. Black 2x2 round plates and a 2x2 round tile constitute the spare tyre, reflecting the actual van that appears onscreen, but the ladder for accessing the roof is missing, unfortunately.
While the exterior includes reasonable detail, my favourite section is definitely the Quantum Tunnel inside. This important device is simply represented by a sticker which could certainly have proven disappointing. However, the execution of this design looks excellent, conveying realistic depth and featuring a beautiful metallic finish.
Overall
76192 Avengers: Endgame Final Battle includes an extraordinary selection of minifigures and they have dominated discussion surrounding this set, understandably. The brand new Thanos bigfig represents an enormous improvement over previous designs and the heroes are superb too, especially given their remarkable quantity. Scarlet Witch remains somewhat disappointing though, differing from the original character.
Certain aspects of the New Avengers Facility seem relatively bland too, although I am pleased with how the internal space is used. Moreover, the distinctive van features extensive detail and Hank Pym's Quantum Tunnel appears fittingly impressive. The price of $69.99 represents good value in the US but I think the UK price of £79.99 seems rather expensive, despite the amazing selection of characters included.

I remember some people speculating that the reason Wanda's power parts were pink vs red was that trans red would be too similar to blood splatter. Hopefully we can find out one day since it's certainly not done from concept art.
I'm so glad they were able to revisit this set though. If there's one silver lining to all the Marvel movies being delayed it's them finally going back and doing Infinity Saga sets. Can't wait to see what other ones that they come up with.
Personally I was happy with the selection of sets we got in the original Endgame range. Granted, they weren't exactly movie accurate. But they were still pretty good sets on their own merits, and gave us cool concepts like the War Machine Buster.
The van is the best part of the set. I love it.
Love this set! Builds are cool and it isn’t even as overpriced (in the US) as I expected. The new Thanos bigfig is awesome and the other minifigures are good, but Scarlet Witch really bothers me. The hair is the wrong color, there’s no skirt piece, she’s got that goofy smile, and if the designer had the budget to recolor the Power Burst pieces why weren’t they made in trans-red? I’m really hoping we get a better figure of her in the CMF series.
Great set. I will sadly not get it tho, as 100€ in my country (France) is simply crazy, almost twice as much as the US price. I am really disappointed by the price, I would have gladly bought it for 70 euro max... Let's hope for clearance
That van is super. It is so ugly, I love it!
The Lion from today's RSOTD (7872) looks more like Thanos, than the actual Thanos from this set.
It's a nice set but I think some of these minifigs would deserve printed legs for the price.
I believe this is the first time LEGO has done a minifig scale vehicle without any obtrusive studs!
$70 vs £80? That’s insane! Excluding VAT, that’s $94 at the spot rate. I hope that this set doesn’t sell well at all in the UK and LEGO realises it’s because of the price.

You know, I have to believe that. Seeing how there is still a rather large and active group of Lego fans online who do war and horror scenes and love spilling out massive piles of trans-red studs out onto disarmed and beheaded minifigures, I can totally see Lego deciding not to release those pieces in red. One less piece those fans can use as gore parts in their Lego murder-fests.
I do wish Black Panther was replaced with a different character, since the same figure does appear in 76186, such as a new Doctor Strange figure, but other than that a fantastic set for $70.
An ugly brown van like that was the family car until I was twelve. How much for just the van? The rest of the set is fine, but for me it's all about the ant-man van, man!
I consider buying only the Parts for the van via PAB or BL. It's so great!
Can I see the new Thanos head on a minifig?
This van is so damn good. I'm tempted to buy one and just toss the entire rest of the set in the trash, minifigs and all. Every other brick in the box is unworthy to bask in the glory of this van.
The Thanos is good, but its sad that the Knockoffs from 11 years looked better still xD
“ The unpopular Avengers: Endgame range produced particular disappointment.”
Says who? I bought them all and was more than happy. Easy pass on this one as it gives nothing new apart from the van.
Wish i had this van, as the Police chief Jim Hopper's car, from 75810. Find these colors very appealing.

While the Avengers: Endgame range included some enjoyable sets, which is obviously most important, those products were notoriously inaccurate to the movie and received accordant criticism across the LEGO fan community.
Of course, neither criticism nor praise are ever universal but that range was quite unpopular.
I want this just for the van. It's going to look great in the trashy part of my city!
Big fan of the van!
Worth it for Luis’s van alone. Lego really missed an opportunity with the Ant-Man sets for creating a full-scale version!
I'm glad they redid this, even if personally Endgame was definitely a personal letdown after the excellent Infinity War from the same people (Funnily enough, the same could be said for their respective lego themes). There's still scenes I'd like to see them take a stab at, now the movie is fully understood (The soul stone planet and the 70's SHIELD Facility, to name two).
That UK price though, oof. I'm not touching this until it's below at least £65, and even then it's not going to be a high priority for me. Still, given the source material for this set, it should be a quick seller, but I worry that their greed in pricing it is really going to work against this one.
While I agree about the blood splatter speculation (even the Marvel Legends figure has pink power blasts) it seems odd they wouldn’t do that but they’d allow flesh hips for Porky Pig, knowing what people will do with them..

So, NOT everything is awesome in your Lego realm? Indeed, that van is good!
Very excited by the Thanos fig and the potential for more bigfigs to advance to this new standard. I don't necessarily think it's necessary for all bigfigs—for instance, I'm a big fan of Sandy in the Monkie Kid theme but since his beard couldn't really be made to rotate well, I don't think he'd benefit much from a separate head piece.
The next thing these types of heads will need is hair or helmets for other characters. They'd most likely need to be shaped to fit these heads, though I'm mildly curious what the hairpieces from the Trolls theme might look like on the Thanos fig—probably not a perfect fit, but it'd probably be funny looking one way or the other!
The rest of the set looks decent but not especially exciting to me since I'm not really a Super Heroes collector. While I've enjoyed my fair share of Marvel movies I've never really been impressed enough with this Avengers "compound" to think it'd be much of a display piece. The trans-pink energy blast pieces for Scarlet Witch are a fun recolor, though.

They posted an image on the Brickset twitter feed.
I would like to see other angles of the piece, I assume it’s mostly hollow?

Didn’t come across any of that unpopularity myself on here or on Facebook groups. So not sure across the LEGO community is a claim you can make. Also the sets seemed to sell out in stores ?????
I'm not discounting the "blood spatter theory," but the physical manifestations of Wanda's powers are often depicted with pink highlights in the comics. In fact, I just did a quick Google image search, and every single comics image seems to use pink instead of red. So while it may not be "MCU accurate," it's accurate to what counts (ie, the Avengers West Coast). :)
The van is the only reason to buy this set! :) But when will we see the review of the Daily Bugle?!? I'm dreaming of it and wednesday can't come fast enough!

You missed it then, there were complaints by the truck load ;).
Sets can still sell even if people dont like them- especially if there are minifigs people want.
Plus lego-collectors complaining is different to kids not liking something ;)
I have an important question
Do Troll hair/10 gallon hat work on thanos?
Wanda's smiling expressions really piss me off because in this battle she's pure rage. I do like new expressions but the previous head was more appropriate.
The non-dollar prices on this are pretty ugly. Apparently we're all made of money on this side of the pond.
"Additionally, the head can be completely removed"

Here, me. The entire line was an embarrassment in how inaccurate it is. Some of the sets were fine in and of themselves, they just seem to have a very tenuous connection with the film at best.
Compare that with, say, the Star Wars sets released for the new films since 2015 – there was usually one or two misses per wave, but by and large they managed to stay pretty true, and there was a followup wave shortly after release. Poor Endgame finally gets sets actually resembling the film two years later.

I just looked that up and pictured it in my mind. I can’t decide weather to hate you for putting that image in my head, or love you (platonically) for putting that image in my head!
Given how many people seem only interested in the van, I expect Bricklink will see a large influx of the non-van parts of this set.
The only good thing in this set is a van. But that sticker of quantum tunnel... Jeeez. Lego is super lazy on designing MCU sets. And MCU minifigs too. Where is leg printing? Where is huge THOR's beard? Where is Cap's broken shield? Where is minigauntlet whith stones? If all that would have cost 20$ I could thought about buying it, but for that price? Nah..

For what it's worth, her magic also sometimes tends to look pinkish in the movies themselves or in promotional material (especially scenes where it's blazing more intensely than usual), such as in this screenshot from Endgame : https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marvelcinematicuniverse/images/0/03/Avengers-endgame-movie-screencaps.com-17085.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20200118223324
I need a minifig head attached to the Thanos head.
For scale.
The boxy van sure is the highlight of this set, just a shame about its interior - there even are four large holes in the floor!
Really wish that van was sold separately. Hope we get more waves of Infinity Saga sets.

I'm sorry, but what?
I'm pretty sure the Thor figure in the Guardians ship is identical. It has medium nougat arms in one of the images but pearl grey in all the rest. I'd have liked if they were different but it doesn't look like it :(
I really only want Wanda and the van haha
Anyone else notice there’s only one picture in which the steering wheel is on the correct (left) side for the vehicle?
Cool set, buying it.
Funny seeing so many mentions of people only loving the van.
Same here, I don't give a toss about the source material, but that van is a must-have.
Though definitely not enough to buy the set at that ridiculous price.
I'll download the instructions and just rebrick the van.
Nice van!
Hopefully the retailers here in Australia decide to mark this set down pretty quickly since the Australian RRP of $150 AUD (about $116 USD) is completely ridiculous. That's only $20 less than what the old version sold for at RRP and that had almost 200 pieces more as well as a second bigfig. Its a shame because its a nice set and I much prefer the updated figures in this set.
The 2021 range is much better. I was really disappointed with 2020. A lot of minifigs here for the price so a great playset.
Looks pretty blah to me. It has some really neat details, but it feels like a compromise between wanting a building and wanting a lot of minifigs and as a result neither seem that good to me.

Which picture? Looks like the steering wheel is centred and therefore not true to the movies in all the pictures.

You are correct - I took another look and the steering wheel is indeed centered and incorrect in all the pics. The angle of most of the pics threw me off.
The van is very cool, no interest in the rest of the set. Might buy it and sell the minifigures.
My target price on this would be £50, which is spot on the US price. I'm liking the figures and the van, not so much the rest.
The van needs to be Briclinked - even if the colour is different (I am not sure if those reddish brown wheel arch bits are easy to get hold of...); I previously Bricklinked the Blazer from the Upside Down as an exact match - economies of scale meant it was easy to do 2 and a non-Lego fan colleague now has one on his desk!
It's gonna be seriously hard to discern what sets I'm gonna buy this summer and fall: the Infinity Gauntlet set, this Endgame Final Battle, the Harry Potter Chess Set, Vidiyo Bandmates Series 2... and the problem is, I can afford only one of those sets!!!
Great set. Love the accurate figures. Will definitely be picking it up Day 1, along with all the other Infinity Saga sets.

Indeed! I think that pink is sometimes used by visual artists to represent a really intense, "white-hot" red.
I love the van, but that alone can't justify the cost of the set.
I thought the movie Avengers: Endgame was pretty disappointing. Still like the Lego sets, mostly for the figs (especially Thanos) and the van. Well, it will likely come with at least a 30% discount after some months, then I'll start considering.
Hard pass... its soooo boring. Every mini fig in the set has been done before. Instead of rehashing recent sets, I think they should work from the wealth of comics
I'm not a licensed collector but that Van design is a pretty nice design to "borrow".
Question on the van: Is that supposed to represent a Dodge (or Ram) model? Especially given the similarity between the grill piece and the appearance of the grille for many years on Dodges.
My first vehicle was a van, painted a murky, somewhat sewer looking brown color. Cost me 750.00 US. It was a Chevrolet, not a Ford, but it was from the late 1970s, early 1980s…what a complete POS….but it WAS MY POS. I’m getting this set just for the van, frankly.
Really nice to see the creation of a more versatile BigFig body and head configuration that allows for the creation of more BigFigs in the future with less tooling expense. I’m simply surprised it took this long.
I'll pass on this one. Drop the building and the cost and maybe they had something here that I would be excited for.
So in the U.S. they pay €59.
And they expect us in europe to pay €90?
I don't get it.
