Shiny silver bucket.
Parrot.
Awesome.

That little puppy mould is nostalgic. I remember it being prominent in one of the catalogues.

That grey dog looks like he is trying to hurt the black dog.

By in Germany,

I didn't know Lego ever had the Playboy license.

By in United States,

I want to clown on this set but it’s actually pretty cute! Tons of neat parts, too!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

I loved those fence pieces (particularly the piece on the hinge that swings open). They were great.

By in Poland,

When I wasa kid this set was VERY important for me. Great pieces, 2 small dogs I named after two we have own back then and THE CHROMED BUCKET that become an artifact in my stories!

At first glance, I thought this was a Friends set, but then I realized, "That's not a minidoll."

Gravatar
By in Canada,

A cool set, but that freaky doll thing really throws me off. The dogs are quite cute though!

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

I wish they still print the parrots in that plumage.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

A very high percentage of parts from this set are still being made today, aside from the figures and animals (parrot notwithstanding).

I do wish LEGO would have kept making palm tree trunks, though.

Look, the puppy’s shadow is making a break for it! Get a needle and thread!

Better hope not...

The certainly were. I had red ones in my 1969 Legoland House with Car set 346-2, and was really surprised to find that they still existed when I returned to Lego for Tower Bridge in 2015!

Absolutey, they were fanatic and the flexibility was great for posing. Not a fan of the modern technic brown pieces used to make tree trunks.

By in Australia,

It's not terrible. I really like the little play pen.

@chrisaw:
While it doesn’t accurately capture the texture of the trunk, there’s a more graceful alternative to Technic angle connectors in the Flintstones set.

Don't worry, only 82 days left until they are allowed.

And this set would likely be $30 or so today.

By in Croatia,

Well, this is the first time a Belville set shows up on RotSD and everyone actually praises it for having good parts. Previously, everyone would just make weird jokes about it, but it seems like people in here have finally grown up and see all the wonderful unique parts that this line gave us.

By in Germany,

Matching theme for RSOTD and RPOTD today. And one of the more obscure ones with Bellville at that. Nice.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I question the point of a fence that doesn’t actually go all the way around what you’re trying to fence off

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

Has someone found a good use of those Belville bases? I think that there could be a castle with a big well built with them (possibly Temple of Doom).

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

It's a Lego set with dogs in. That automatically makes it a good set, in my book, regardless of literally ANYTHING else.

Some interesting unique part recolours in this set, too. It's the only set to have the fence and gate pieces in Light Violet, or the large roof slopes in Dark Pink. So that's pretty cool, too ^^

Yeah, I knew Friends was getting close to being eligible, so thought it had already happened.

Could You explain, what is ending in 82 days?

The year, and therefore the period of ten years since Friends was introduced

ThATs wHat YOuRe iMagINatIoN iS fOr! But seriously, I couldnt have been the only kid who thought about and was bothered by stuff like that in kids toys. I remember being a little fella and trying to complete fences and similar things, because if I didnt, it just didnt work! Come to think of it now, maybe me having that mindset at such a young age shows what Ive often feared: I am insane...

Gravatar
By in Germany,

This set did introduce the three-leafed plant stem part 6255.

By in United States,

@Brickalili:
Growing up, I had some neighbors across the street and one lot over who had two sections of fence in the middle of the front yard. Each section was about 8-10’ long, straight, parallel to the road, and did absolutely nothing. Their daughter, along with a couple of the other neighborhood girls, tried to tell me that if you didn’t have a fence in your yard, you weren’t cool (because all of these girls did have them). I calmly explained that the property line we shared with one of them went right through a tree, so my dad had given my neighbor permission to build their fence between the shared tree and our shrubs, so that entire length of tench was sitting just a few inches on our side of the property line. This meant we actually had about three times as much fence in our yard than the one who had started the whole thing. That pretty much shut her down cold.

That black dog is definitely a Blacktron spy.

I found a good use. It makes a great square/straight edge when I'm making sails for boats.

Palm tree is still awesome. Chrome bucket even more awesome, but less useful.
