Random set of the day: Cement Truck
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 7876 Cement Truck, released during 2007. It's one of 22 Creator sets produced that year. It contains 44 pieces, and its retail price was US$3.99.
It's owned by 420 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

It's almost like a chibit model. The mixer has the correct angle, but seems too narrow in diameter to the rest of the truck. Or the cabin is too wide. Somethings not quite right, yet still makes for a fun model.
I don't think yesterday's engine is gonna fit in this one....
It's free? So can I have it?
Give me the images of Creator 2022 sets! :)))
Seems to either be part of a value pack or a gwp?
This is reminiscent of the one from 4347 Auto Pod, except it's got a much better-looking drum.
Man I would take some free Lego right about now...
I kinda like how they used the two 1x2 transparent bricks next to each other instead of a 1x4 that goes all the way across because it gives the impression of a split windscreen, which looks good for this truck
It has an awkward appeal. Like a baby cement truck :)
The package says “free” but the summary says “retail price was US$3.99.”
Which is it, damnit?!
Maybe it was “free with purchase”—buy this packaging for $3.99 and you get a free cement truck inside.

I suspect you had to pay $3.99 for the cement mixer, but you did get 4954 thrown in with it.
Gah, why have I never seen 4954 before!
Owned by 420 brickset members... nice
This looks like someone’s kid was driving one of those battery-operated Power Wheels driveway vehicles and ran into one of those plug-in cement mixer drums that people use for pouring sidewalk slabs.
This looks really cute, like the Tiny Turbos from back in the day. I’d definitely keep this if I ever got my hands on one! Probably won’t ever happen though, as with most RSotD’s I happen to like :P
"its retail price was US$3.99."
But...but the sticker on the box art says its free! Art you lied to me!
Free? Yeah, sure. How do I get it?
The box says 'gratis', which is Dutch for 'free'. So I guess traveling to the Netherlands to get it.
According to the reviews, you could receive this set as part of a Brickmaster subscription. I guess that's where the 'free' comes from.
I love these tiny creator construction vehicles. There was an excavator 4915, mini digger which could steer 5761, and a frontloader on a truck 31005.

It means ‘free’ in English as well. As the box art already says ‘free’, maybe it was intended for Brickmaster subscribers in different countries.
The 'free gratis' sticker makes me want to make a witty Deadwood reference. But I can't think of anything clever, so this comment will have to do...
Aww, it's so cuuute
Very nice color combo!

It was a free brickmaster promo. You could also buy this set for $4 on shop at home.
Free lego! YAY!

Thank you for confirming me! I also want to say I enjoyed your bricklist 60132 wall of shame.
Just this day I saw a "concrete" truck that didn't spin. Does it still mix the cement in some way inside of the tank? Why change the design from the spinning kind? I suppose it might be cheaper and less likely to be maintenance, but maintenance would be harder if the mechanism was on the inside instead of on the outside.
