Another Ghost Bike!

Ghost Bike doing a wheelie!

With sweets in Japan!

I love Japanese sweets. That's the reason to buy toys from Japan. A lot of Super Sentai merch comes with little sherbet candies, and my gosh, they just melt in your mouth and wrap you in a wave of sugary-goodness.

Another one of those oh-so-evocative names.

Is this the Technic set with the least number of pieces?

I own that set. To be more correct, one of the releases of that set: 1268 , who got a much cooler name that is 'Bike BLASTER'.

It was (and still is) the cheapest set I purchased in my life, cost R$5.00 (around US$2.50 at the time). Found it in the back of the shelf of a local toy store in 2008, completely hidden by newer sets from the time.

@lynels:
I think the cheapest set I’ve actually paid money for is 5005250. Every Meijer in my area got about 100, quite a while after they had initially been released, and interest had already worn off. At some point, they got marked down to $0.59.

Wow. And not a bad set either.
Do you think it was a mistake or were they just that desperate to get rid of it?
Considering we don’t have pennies anymore, was it actually free?

Déjà vu
I’ve just been in this place before
Higher on the street
And I know it’s my time to go
Calling you, and the search is a mystery
Standing on my feet
It’s so hard when I try to be me, woah

-some bystander who saw 1268 Bike Blaster in the RSOTD earlier.

Any bike held together with a rubber band is *really* not safe to ride...

Loving the octopus in that set. I never even knew it existed and it's in 22 sets!

No, there's quite a few with fewer pieces. There are even two bikes (well, one is a trike) with fewer pieces 1257 and 2544

EDIT: Sounds like a contest opportunity: build a Technic bike with the fewest pieces possible :)

I bought some other stuff to avoid any problems, but around that time WM put a lot of stuff at one or two cents to get rid of it. I remember I missed out on 60104 for two cents as I didn’t get to the store fast enough. They don’t do it any longer.

Kind of interesting they used an old and a newer style of wheel in the same set. And I guess this was one of the earliest completely studless Technic sets? What I like is that despite the simplicity they still managed to work in a true Technic function with the rear suspension. A very simple but smart build.
