And the CEO of Danone said, "Your children shall be indoctrinated in the ways of our food products and will swear unwavering loyalty for the rest of their days!"

Pairs perfectly with pretzels that are larger than your head.

This is really nice... Almost as good as the real classic Lego era of 60s/70s Legoland.

I didn't remember this set at all, so after reading more I found out it was a promotional set, which explains it. Also no minifigure included, and it was so different from other sets released that year. It seems to be a throwback to pre-minifigure days, before the ability to seat figures in the vehicles was incorporated into designs.

One advantage of this was vehicles looked more realistic, whereas minifigure ones inevitably became more cartoon-like, with a single seat and no roof, also taller and out of proportion, but with much greater play value!

And those printed headlight/grille bricks bring back childhood memories! The amount of times I'd build a house only to find one 1x4 brick (usually red), halfway up the wall had the design on the other side. Later on, it was the same with eyes printed on white 2x2 bricks!

Happy days!

Everybody has a dark side.

I love seeing old obscure sets like this!

Needs more Batma...ah, who am I kidding? Batman wouldn’t be caught dead having anything to do with a set that looks like this. Well, maybe if some Z-lost villain was using it to commit a crime because they weren’t successful enough to get their hands on one that’s minifig-scale...

Another RSotD that came out the year I was born! But I don't think I'll be tracking this one down on eBay like I did 8858. Although those wheels are giving me some nostalgia.

That's the kind of licensed set I can get behind.

Raise your hand everyone who saw the name and instantly had the “mmmmm, Danone” jingle play in their head

So, the same as the CEO of LEGO says to us all??
:)

It can be yours for the low price of $210 on EBAY in a sealed box. I need to hold onto my LEGO and not open the boxes. :)

Promo sets often looked older than they were. In 1998 - 2000, the best Town sets were promo sets still in the Classic Town style!

The chrome grill print goes back to 1970, when it would have looked very modern with the square headlights. I believe the same pattern in black goes back even further
