This is the Daredevil variant of the AT-ST. It can see everywhere it goes, but doesn't use its eyes to do so.

How cute. A printed flag would have been cuter, though.

I wonder what Captain Rex (on the picture, not the staff member) is looking at. Most box art with pictures of characters has them looking forward, not a strange angle like this.

Funnily enough, I think the legs on this fella have more pose-ability than the modern ones

He's watching his Gunship being shot down and thinking, "Damn. Now we gotta walk."

Fascinating, this build seems nearly identical to the 2003 variant (set 4486), despite an 8-year gap that included the 2004 corporate and creative shakeup.

A printed flag was included on the 2003 variant.

He’s got an itch on his lower right jaw, and he’s rubbing it on his shoulder to scratch it.

The more I stare at it, the more I realize that it's probably just a glorified re-release lol

I think I compared the instructions once and they are identical.

There are some differences beside the flag

The feet use a 1x3 tile with hing instead of 1x2 plate with hinge on a 1x3 plate. The new part was introduced in 2005. The legs use a new variant of those hinges with holes, introduced in 2007. Also, the entire thing is now light bluish grey and dark bluish grey instead of the old greys.

It's close to a complete re-release however. Just a cheaper, inferior one.
They did the head again in the 9679 Bespin & AT-ST planets set, but with original legs. That one even has the flag print again, now on a light bluish grey flag!

I much prefer the 2022 30495 Hoth AT-ST polybag design when it comes to miniature AT-ST.
But 4485, the 2003 one was far ahead if its time. That entire mini range was for the most part.

There's also 911837 and 912175 from the magazines. They at least try something new...

Or ‘Damn. They should have included better figures’.

They didn't even try to make it not look like a render

The range was amazing.
The AS-ST/snow speeder was 4486.

I just picked up a second copy of the new one to see what it would take to make the Ep6 version.

It’s fun to see how often lasers and lightsaber blades are crooked relative to their source (gun, handle, etc) in two dimensional media.
