Gas and go? Does that also mean the camera is plug and play?

Got it on my 7th birthday and loved it!

By in France,

Got it when I was 13 and thought it was a bit ‘Meh’, but I can see some good uses for the parts now.

Never got it. Octan sucks. Long live Shell!

By in United States,

I always loved that two-bladed propeller piece that could be doubled up (as seen here) to make a four-bladed one. I also loved the little fuel truck. (Although it would have been nice if there was a place on the plane to plug the nozzle in.) As woefully inadequate as the horizontal stabilizers were, at least it had them; the previous year's 6536 didn't have any at all!

My first Lego airplane as a kid. I remember wondering why it had a camera mounted to it...

Got this in a LEGO eBay lot, neat little set.

This is one of the best Town sets of the 90s. Granted, that's a pretty low bar...

By in Canada,

Somehow I think the fuel tanker ATV has a smaller capacity than the plane’s fuel tank.

My favourite airplane toy as a child. For the longest time I thought the navigation lights on the wings were red and green because Octan was red and green. All time great set.

@DaBigE:
That’s easy. It’s for spying on your neighbor to see if there are any violations you should report to the HOA and/or city hall.

Plane equivalent of a dash cam; with the sheer amount of planes in Lego City you gotta watch out for collisions

An oddly charming set for mid-90s town, despite the juniorisation.

For me, this is one of the best *simple* Lego sets ever. Two figures, play value, fantastic mixture of parts and such.

Got it as a kid and still have it, I love it

Where is this juniorised please?

By in France,

One of the first set I bought on eBay, around 2004. It was the end of my dark era. I was rebuilding my 6368 Jet Airliner and wanted more planes. This one was really looking great. still love it . The other I wanted most was the rescue plane 6356.

Unfortunately, the sun completely yellowed it, with my town, in my bedroom in less than 18 months. Some Retrobright sessions are needed, now.

By in Netherlands,

I remember I always looked longingly at this set in the catalogue. I might be biased because I grew up in the 90's, but as far as I'm concerned, sets like these are peak Lego.

By in Germany,

It was my first LEGO plane, I wanted it for the canopy, so I could finally dive into cool starship building (the last cheap set withe that piece at that time, 6897 just went out of sale). I cought myself liking it for itself and rather rebuilding it into "mundane" stuff like boats and seaplanes.

TLDR: When you like something more than you had expected!

‘94 is like peak Town for me. So many iconic sets.

I can only echo this reply. There were no juniorisation in the mid-90s. It wasn't untill 1997 that Town Jr was introduced.

Hmm...this reminds me soooo much of the 'plane' from near the end of 'Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome'...That, and it gives me 'kitplane' vibes; and not in the 'good' way...
