It’s like the kid with a box full of little plastic tools so they can run around the house pretending to fix things with a parent who’s actually trying to fix things (probably with above average success, or buying toy tools for a kid would feel too much like being taunted and they just wouldn’t do it).

Dang technic box art so good they've reused it for 15+ years

Funny it's obvious it's a Deere, but we didn't get an official set until last year (42136). Due time--I had Best Lock and MEGA Deere sets as a kid--all of which were garbage.

I've been hoping LEGO would give CAT and Deere some extended ranges--both classic and modern machines, system and Technic. Big display models, and toy-grade stuff.

If we ever get a vintage CAT D9, I sugggest it be the one from the 1974 sci-fi film Killdozer! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killdozer!_(film)

Well I see lots of black. Good, good.

BUT WHERE'S THE TRANS NEON GREEN? Regular green just isn't going to cut it mate! Oh, and swap those yellow wheels for white. Unless you're going for the OG Blacktron. Then keep the yellow wheels.

By in Germany,

Look, it's obviously a Deere, but back then Lego didn't give a damn about licensing, and prices weren't so hiked up

By in United Kingdom,

I mean by minifig standards its a perfectly respectably sized tractor

By in Jersey,

The B model motorcycle and sidecar is quite nice.

By in Netherlands,

Back when a tractor could just be a tractor and didn't have to be licensed. And although the smaller technic sets are still less often licensed... we did get a polybag vehicle that's licensed last year.
And personally I just wonder what difference it even makes.

This set is nice, as the back apparatus actually moves. Functionality!

The first Deere.

But not the last.

Clever, the back wheels turn the horizontal gears at the back when pushing forward or backwards. Just missing some basic steering as in the latest mini tractor 42102.

I'm surprised Deere never noticed.

Apparently Deere is so zealous with copyright infringement suits, I've seen ads and stock photos change the colors--sometimes by graying out the yellow rims, or worse--making it look like a Deutz Fahr when it's still obviously a Deere.

It’s not, it was inspired by a Deutz Agrotron.

EDIT: didn't see this comment had already been made by someone else!"

According to your link it goes back as far as 1974, e. g. in 813. That was before the Technic theme started. I had in yellow in the eighties from 6481.
