Random set of the day: Beauty Studio
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 3200 Beauty Studio, released during 1997. It's one of 10 Scala sets produced that year. It contains 31 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$16.5.
It's owned by 50 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Beauty Studio? This is just a vanity for a bedroom or dressing room.
31 piece inventory mystery!
I, too, set up my vanities in public parks.
She's gotta do something about those crusty elbows, but they don't make Lego moisturizer!
"Walls, not included..."
For a weird moment, I thought that was a Friends hair-bow piece on her left wrist.
I'm reminded of the first season of The Walking Dead, when Morgan's wife is standing outside their front door, trying to turn the doorknob.
After the creepy horror-fest that was My Dad, My Mother just seems mildly bored.
Or possibly inebriated?
Remember when mobile telephones looked like that? Yeah.

Your elbows might be crusty too, if they were made of ABS! :)
After My Dad last year and Baby Princess a few days ago, the creepy Scala family is complete.
What the Princess grows up to become after My Dad goes out for milk.
She's trying to look good for My Dad.

I’d say she’s trying to look like Barbie, but failing.
Looks like Lego tried to avoid all the critisim that Barbie got, and succeeded.

Maybe te studio is just that big, its nearest wall is just over those hills in the background!
@Brickalili: Sweetchuck (Police Academy 3,,,I think): "Boy...What a lobby..":)
Every cloud has a silver lining.
1 of the first sets to contain the "4 Scala Perfume Bottles: "https://brickset.com/sets/containing-design-6932 that was also the only good part of the set for me.
@Rimefang brickling/peeron/rebrickable have the inventory
@Zordboy seems to be a cordless phone not a mobile.
When beauty was a duty...
"It contains 31 pieces and 1 minifig" ... does not really look like a minifig to me
Is she holding a phone? That's really ahead of her time. Practicing to be an influencer before the technology was invented.
@watcher21 It also has one of those red dishes that is worth more than the retail price, because Kaneda's bike.
What are the odds on LEGO announcing a EUR 500 UCS Scala set?
Daughter of My Dad.
She's trying desperately not to look creepy. She only partly succeeded. Now her head in the box just looks super smug.
It almost makes you appreciate My Dad more for not even trying to hide how terrifyi- I mean terrific he is!
*blinks 'help' in morse code*
The way she's looking at me through the box...
She would fit perfectly in that hulk buster.

So what you are saying is that the Hulkbuster is a potential Scala re- launch? Nice!
From the dark times...

After creating the hellish demon that is Baby Princess, wouldn't you drink yourself into oblivion too? And when Lucifer / My Dad leaves her to "go buy milk and cigarettes", and you start to feel sorry for her...
As for the mobile phone, she's probably dialing the local priest to exorcise Princess... again.
@Murdoch17:
Now I’m imagining FXX’ Little Demon done in stop motion with Scala dolls. Clearly My Dad would be voiced by Danny DeVito, and I guess this one would then be Aubrey Plaza.

Now with regular bricks being made in "flesh" color in more sets (boutique hotel or 3-in-1 noodle shop for example), where's the buildable Scala-scale doll-mech with a minifig/minidoll pilot inside.
Sounds a whole lot more interesting compared to a Hulkbuster.
Scala is the Barbie of LEGO. The only other LEGO toyline that didn't focus on construction sets was the licensed Galidor line in 2002.
Set contains no black.
Set contains no Trans Neon green.
Set contains two white parts. And they are slippers.
Conclusion: Set is not Blacktron.

At least there's yellow. Now we just need tr. red.
And pretty much 100% of all parts to be different.
Never mind you're 110% right.
