That's one big specialized part... Too juniorized for me!

I don't think I want someone dumping bags of clubs into my golf cart from that height...especially if I'm in it!

Except its not one part, its a lot of parts making that conveyor... My buddy has one of the sets with the red version of that Conveyor, I was envious.. Until BL and I could get my own parts to build one of those!

I own the European Version from 1971,
    351-1 Loader Hopper with Truck.
    Those conveyor belts look amazing!

A good set to end the year wirh.
    Happy New Year!"

BL seems to include a granular tree for this set’s main picture. Something is fishy.

I remember good old grandma finding this for me at a yard sale and bringing it home (well, to be fair, that was 37+ years ago, so it could have been one of the handful of other, similar, sets)

Yes, BL photos are quite often inaccurate. e.g. 347-1 picture is missing the tree and 345-1 is missing a macaroni brick from the end of the fence. They appear to be from catalogues for retailers, with comments like 'Packed 4 per carton', rather than customer catalogues.

This was my very first set. I got it for my sixth birthday in 1972, so 50 years ago this year.
Till that day I didn't even know what Lego was. I loved it and got many more sets until my last set in 1980 set 8860 . Then the dark ages started.

"why does remind me of model railroading?"

A similar type of conveyor station was often used to load coal into the coal tender wagon behind a steam locomotive, so I'm sure a number of model railroads have one.

An upscaled version of this build would be perfect for a layout that has the Emerald Night!

    Or, even better: Power Functions!
That can't be done with these older conveyor belts"

Anything's possible with an angle grinder and a blow lamp!

""Back in my day, we didn't have specialized parts.""

Back in my day, there were only a few specialized parts in a given set, and I treasured them for their uniqueness and in the way they spiced up the LEGO brick model. Nowadays, it seems like every set is mostly specialized parts, and the basic bricks/plates are now the minority...
