Tiny Rahkshi man that's actually not a Rahkshi at all, I just don't know why the design team decided to do that. Some might assume that it was because the heads and staff pieces were leftover stock, but the colors aren't the same in 2005 to the ones from 2003.

Hey, stop pouking me!

The Rahaga *should* have been Rahkshi--they should have been little Turaga Rahkshi who could have been dark mirrors of what the Metru would fear becoming as Turaga. Instead, we somehow got another Toa team out of them.

Would that I had the time at the moment to type out the lore on this guy.

The recolour certainly makes the design team's choices all the more confusing, but does at least mean they aren't as lazy as the 2006 Matoran who just use the exact same masks in the exact same colours as the Toa Metru.

Yeah, I remember seeing these sets as a kid and assuming they were the Rahkshi equivalent of Bohrok Va, until I saw the movie and was just confused by the choice of head piece. I am glad we somehow got another Toa team out of them because those sets are great (although they also should have been other characters). Toa Iruini / Nidhiki's doppelganger holds the honour of being the only 2005 set I liked enough to go back and pick up on Bricklink.

It's bad enough that he has to have a zip strip shoved up his backside, but then he's also brown? I mean, come on.

The last Rahaga I got! I don't remember every detail, but about a month before the first 2005 Bionicle sets were scheduled to release in the UK - because they were March releases for us, if I remember rightly? (though earlier in America) - Argos suddenly popped up a five-pack of the Rahaga before anywhere else in the UK had them.

Naturally I got them as soon as I possibly could; but for whatever reason, Pouks was the single Rahaga not included in the pack. I admit I got kind of bored of their build after the first three, especially when putting all five together in immediate succession, so I held off on getting this guy until later in the year. By then the experience felt fresher again, so I recall that I enjoyed building him far more than I had done with Iruini or Bomonga ^^

I liked the Rahaga though. They were silly weird little creatures clearly designed from leftover parts (even though they included some new recolours) built around the launcher function for that year; but they had a kind of charm to them that I enjoyed. Kualus is my personal favourite out of them.

The Brotherhood of Makuta were once powerful guardians of the Matoran Universe. Despite their immense power, they saw need to have guards of their own. Toa stationed at their many lairs and labs to protect experiments from thieves and attackers (and vice versa) They called these people Toa Hagah, meaning "Guardian Heroes" in Matoran tongue.

Some Makuta had no Hagah, some had many. Teridax, the Makuta of Metru Nui, had six. These heroes were stationed on the Makuta's homeland of Destral, rather than Teridax's own lair in Metru Nui. They served him valiantly for many years, until his true colors began to show.

One day Teridax sent out a command to one of his brother's, Kojol, to steal the fabled Mask of Light from the heavenly land of Artakha. 1,200 years later the Hagah would learn of this theft. They quickly realized that the only reason a being of Shadow would steal the Mask of Light was if he feared its power. Teridax was clearly planning something sinister.

Soon the Hagah agreed to betray their master, and get the Mask of Light somewhere safer. They raided the Brotherhood's Fortress and stole two artifacts. The Mask of Light and the Makoki Stone. The later of these was a round stone, broken into six pieces, that detailed nearly all information there was to know on the Brotherhood of Makuta in the event they turned evil.

As they Hagah tried to make their escape they were captured by one of Makuta's servants, Roodaka. Roodaka used her powers to mutate the Hagah into small and twisted forms. She dubbed them Rahaga for their Rahkshi like heads. These Rahaga narrowly escaped her grasp and fled the island.

The Rahaga and Roodaka's paths would soon become intertwined in strange ways. The Rahaga set out on a quest to locate the legendary Keetongu, a Rahi that was rumored to be able to heal any ailment. Roodaka became leader of the Visorak Horde, an army of vile spiders who would conquer islands, killing or driving off the Rahi that lived there. The Rahaga soon took to protecting Rahi from the Visorak, and helped many of them migrate away from the horde.

Eventually the Rahaga reached Metru Nui, the northernmost land of the MU. They decided to settle in this land, as they believed it was were Keetongu hid. They hid the Mask of Light in an underground vault, sealed by the Makoki Stone. They then broke the Makoki Stone into its six components and hid them around the city.

Around 300 years after the Haga became Rahaga, the Great Cataclysm struck. Makuta Teridax had succeeded in his dark plan to put the Great Spirit to sleep. His next step was to flood the island of Metru Nui with Visorak Hordes to establish a good foothold on his new empire. During this chaos Metru Nui's protectors, the Toa Metru, were captured by the Visorak and mutated into half Toa-half Rahi beasts known as Toa Hordika.

The second the Visorak reached shore the Rahaga set to work in protecting the Rahi, and when they spotted the Hordika they rushed to their aid. The Rahaga knew what it was like to be turned half-beast, and so set out to guide the Toa in controlling their violent new emotions.

The Rahaga and Hordika went on several quests together. First each Toa and Rahaga split up across the island so each Toa could retrieve a piece of the Makoki Stone. They then combined their stones to reach the Mask of Light and Onewa used what was left of his power to seal it in stone.

They then joined forces once more to seek out Keetongu. Early on in this mission, Vakama betrayed his brothers and kidnapped all the Rahaga except Norik. The remaining Rahaga and 5 Hordika managed to reach Keetongu's lair.

Keetongu revealed that with his knowledge of antidotes he could cure the Toa Hordika, but not the Rahaga. In addition, his people had been wiped out by the Visorak long ago, he would only help them if they drove the spiders out of his new home. The seven heroes beset the Coliseum at the center of the island. During this assault they saved the other 5 Rahaga, convinced Vakama to rejoin the side of good, and Vakama used his newfound position with the villains

The seven heroes beset the Coliseum at the center of the island. During this assault they saved the other 5 Rahaga, convinced Vakama to rejoin the side of good, and Vakama used his newfound position with the villains to disband the Visorak Horde. Roodaka managed to get away with the help of Makuta at the last minute.

The Toa Hordika were cured and set out with the Matoran for a better home on a mysterious island above. They took the Mask of Light and Makoki Stone with them. The Rahaga, Keetongu, and Turaga Dume choose to stay behind. Together they would protect Metru Nui incase the Visorak ever returned, and rebuild as much of the city as they could for when her people returned.

1,000 years later the Matoran of Metru Nui returned to their homeland. The Toa Metru/Hordika had been transformed into Turaga elders, but they brought with them a new team of Toa, the Toa Nuva. The Rahaga realized they were needed elsewhere, and left the city in new capable hands.

Several months later and paths would cross again. Roodaka's homeland of Xia found itself in the middle of a giant monster battle. The Great Tahtorak and the Kanohi Dragon dueled above its foundries. The Rahaga rushed to the scene, hoping to calm down the giant lizards and bring them home. The Toa Nuva had also arrived in the city, planning to capture Roodaka and bring her to justice by command of the Order of Mata Nui. Only Roodaka's own powers could undo her mutations, and so the Toa forced her to cure the Rahaga. They were Toa Haga once more!

Soon after these new Toa were thrust into new conflict. The Order of Mata Nui was hot on the trail of Maktua Teridax, and they needed the Haga's help to bring him to justice. The team joined a larger search party and managed to track him back to the City of Metru Nui, and eventually to a series of caves sealed beneath the foundations of the Coliseum. It was here they discovered something mysterious indeed. The Core Processor. Mata Nui's brain.

It turns out that during his comatose slumber and brief death (see the main story for that) Mata Nui's soul had briefly left his body. During that window, Makuta Teridax thrust his own soul into the machine. This Core Processor controlled al of the Matoran Universe and its functions. Before this search party had much time to react, our main heroes, the Toa Nuva, succeeded in "awakening the Great Spirit." In truth, this awoke Mata Nui's body with Makuta's mind!

Makuta used his newfound godlike powers to torment the search party. The Haga got off rather lucky. They were cast into an endless vision of paradise and joy to believe that nothing was wrong and that the day had been saved. Eventually they were rescued from this illusion and joined the resistance against Teridax's Reign.

The last we saw of the Haga was in the franchise's epilogue. They were sent on a quest to rescue the Toa Mahri from the mysterious Golden Skinned Being. Thanks to the Story Serials ending in 2014 and Greg Farshtey being fired from The LEGO Group in 2022 this plotline ended on a cliffhanger and likely will never get resolved.

Pouks was the Rahaga of Stone. As a Rahaga, his Rhotuka Spinner could fly low to the ground and knock the legs out from under a target. Also has a Rahaga he possessed small wings that let him fly. As a Toa He wore the Mask of Emulation, which let him temporarily copy the powers of another Sapient Species. He was loud, boisterous, and straightforward in every thing he did, and preferred to capture and protect large land Rahi.

@ThatBionicleGuy:
I built six copies of the Exo-Toa in rapid succession. I think as early as the fourth copy, I'd stopped using the instructions. Even the times when you're building a single set, and you hit a section where you have to build the same component 4-8 times all at once get a bit tedious.

By in United States,

How many pouks would a Rahaga Pouk if a Rahaga could pouk Pouks?

By in United States,

Man the Matoran/small Bonkles really fell off for a few years after 2004.

Some say
that he's made out of strange parts that a few weird people call LEGO, and that he and his friends saved the company from bankruptcy.
All we know is
he's NOT The Stig.
He's The Stig's Bionicle cousin.

By in United Kingdom,

Maybe it’s because I never got the books, only reading the more limited story in the comics, but I was never really sure these guys had much of a personality; Norik did, sure, but the other five were just kind of “also there”. Even Iruini who at least had a bit of personality as a Toa gets reduced to an extra here

By in Slovakia,

Light brown bricks included - I was even not anymore aware that this color existed even the few not Bionicle parts are including a hair piece used for SW

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Funny how this really rare colour is just called 'brown'.

By in Netherlands,

Ah, the Rahaga. In my opinion they didn't add much as sets but without them there would be no 2005 story. Yet Norik was more than enough. And strangely only two were also released as their toa counterparts. And even stranger, they use different mask parts than the ones they canonically have for convoluted reasons.

I used to own pouks as I found the Rahagah as sealed boxes in 2011. They didn't do much for me. The builds are uninspired and feel closer to the good guy/bad guy/function type sets, just produced as a copy-pasted set of 6. The orange liftarms used on their bodies make them feel unrefined.
