BREAKING NEWS: Another military vehicle unearthed in retired LEGO set.

Smallville in itself was a pretty good show, at least in the first season. I haven't finished the season finale, but so far, it's pretty good.
This seems entirely unrelated though.

Yeah, it was based on 'Man of Steel'.

It doesn't seem like this set came out ten years ago. How time flies. I always liked Zod and Faora's armor.

@randomness: Not sure if you're serious, but if you are this set has nothing to do with the show, It's from the movie Man of Steel.

That armour is pretty crazy.

Don't think we're supposed to be able to see so much of the photography studio reflected in the various round dark gray pieces...

The minifigures still look fantastic, even to today’s standards. General Zod and Faora have especially intricate detailing for 2013!

Must be one of the last times that big piece for the car seats and doors was used, dating back to the first Adventurers wave I believe, in 1998.

New to me. Must have missed reading the Daily Planet that day.

That part was used in 10273 as the seat for the ride.

Oh, of course. Nearly forgot about that one. I guess this leaves me with nothing left to do besides

KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!!!!!!!!!

By in Canada,

Have this one (surprise, surprise...). Only thing I hat is that Jeep (yes, I capitalize it), and its seat area. I mean, it 'looks good', but it's off-center; Meloni's...er, 'Hardy's' hands aren't able to "10 'n 2" if his life depended on it...but he can use the horn though...:)

Someone recently claimed that tan thing is supposed to be a Humvee. I didn’t realize they could be crossbred with a Mini Cooper.

When I bought Colonel Miles Quaritch from 75571, I had forgotten that Colonel Hardy was probably the first modern military minifig made by Lego. The lack of detail, particularly the pixel camo, made it unremarkable.

One of the first Superhero sets I ever got as a little kid. This one holds a special place in my heart, and i still think it holds up pretty well today, especially in the minifig department.

Wonder if any of these villains will be getting figures again to go with The Flash movie...

Ow, you say that like 2013 is ancient.

While the armour looks cool, it has a design flaw in that if you take the visor off, you still can't attach hair pieces as the elevated back blocks them.

By in Netherlands,

The minifigs are cool and all, but that ship feels a bit dated. Or I'm not sufficiently versed in its design (never seen the film).

Fun fact: this ship also appears in Dimensions... in the Ghostbusters level as a boss. The level is called 'the phantom zone'. Figures!

The two side grey cockpit bubbles are hinged suggesting that they could be used for mini-figs but I've never seen a picture of them open to know if there is enough space? Either why they all definitely need to be replaced with opaque green cockpits to make a really cool 3-seater alien spacecraft.

The jeep junior double seat piece is an interesting solution of how to fit 2 mini-figs in a 4 wide vehicle, although I would prefer just leaving the doors off using regular seats.

@Pekingduckman:
In terms of the set itself, yes, that’s absolutely true. You can’t combine these character’s shoulder armor and hair. However, a handful of hairstyles are actually compatible with these, like TLNM Zane’s, and I think also the Islander topknot. This isn’t particularly useful information, of course…

We've had 10 years of DC movies in a shared universe? What a rough ride it's been.

By in Germany,

I have this set.

I have no idea why.

I can't even remember buying it, yet my database entry for it says I bought it at our local independent little toy store. It's still MISB packed somewhere in the attic as I never even bothered to open it. Very strange indeed.

This Zod 71020-17 would beat that Zod.

When will Lego bring us a classic Superman movies wave? Many great scenes to draw from.

@ambr:
Looking through the instructions, there are two seats under the clear canopy…and three evil Kryptonians (only two with protective helmets, though). The side bubbles do appear to have enough space for a minifig to lie down inside, but I don’t see any evidence that they demonstrated this. I don’t have access to the back of the box at the moment, so it may possibly be shown there.

This was one of the best movie themed Superhero sets to come out at the time.

Probably because it was on shelves until 2018!"

@p3co: Did it stick around that long? I'd forgotten that.

Haha. I don’t really know. It was around for a long time though. I know I got mine for a good discount at least.

@ambr:
BTW, I believe this was supposed to represent the Kryptonian mothership, which was _huge_. The “cockpit” would have actually been the bridge, which a ship this size could have parked in. Translating that to “swooshable, hand-held spacecraft” gets a bit goofy, in terms of how the seating has to be arranged.

Junior? No, that piece has an honored pedigree all the way back to Adventurers.

@oukexergon: As long as they stop with the first two.
