Look, I love Elephants; this Elephant's wack.
That Walrus on the other hand... he's precious.

Sure. Elephant. Not like I could do better.

That was not my first thought.

It needs to be Pink, I think!

Semi-functional ears and trunk. Tusks and maybe a tail? What's not to like?

Needs a Knight riding it.

And maybe some Blacktron.

Are you suggesting being gutter-crawling drunk would make this seem better? Eh, yeah, I guess I can see that.

Huwbot finally decided to address the elephant in the room, I see.

Looks good to me, for what it's trying to be: Simple, fun, and cheap... and LEGO. And again, perfect for modification into whatever fantasy or sci-fi beastie you want it to be! Brick-built creatures win out over pre-moulded ones in many ways, for me. Even silly ones like this.

Edit: I know most comments are just ribbing these in good fun, but I maintain my point. Somebody's gotta stand up for these goofy little fellas!

The head has strong LEGO Universe pet vibes

The end of the trunk was a neat idea. For the time.

Actually a pretty good go at it from a little polybag set like this

And with a walrus (I think) as an alternative build. Legoo goo g'joob!

I agree. Alternative build wins.

I love the 2003-2005 era of Designer Sets in particular. There's something special about them.
This isn't really among the greats and never really caught my attention.
But... looking at it by itself I like what they did. It's recognizable, movable and rebuildable all with fairly basic parts (for the time anyway. Those wedge pieces are only a few years old at that point).

All in all: a great, inexpensive little polybag! And still with the classic charm before we would get stuff like 30574 Cat with all its specialized parts.

I think it could look funny in black with trans-neon green eyes xD

I went into the instructions to have a look at the walrus everyone was talking about (because the set entry doesn't have a "More Images" tab), and I agree that it's pretty good. Kind of makes me want a molded one, which would go well with the current Arctic subtheme.

All I can see is Mythbusters' own Jamie Hyneman, and I'm perfectly okay with that."

Are you sking for this set to be blown up? "Jamie want big boom." and all that.

@TheOtherMike:
If you click on the image, and then click on the “expand” X in the lower right corner, and then zoom in, and then look past the glare reflecting off the polybag material, you can sorta see the walrus in the upper right corner of the packaging.

Ya'll just bought this set like betas, I EARNED it through Life cereal box-tops.

Yeah, that's right. Women want me, men want to be me, etc, etc.

I, too, got this set as a mail-in freebie via a Life Cereal promotion. There was a choice of sets offered, this and a Duplo critter - parrot, I think - and I got two of that and one of this.

Not the fanciest set or whatever, but hey - free LEGO is free LEGO!
