Random set of the day: Medic's Car
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 30000 Medic's Car, released during 2009. It's one of 34 City sets produced that year. It contains 30 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 1,541 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $5.40, or eBay.

Medic’s Go-Kart.
Are Lego City's emergency services so underfunded? This isn't the first time we've seen them using what appears to be a go-kart.
He's going to need a medic himself after the go-kart joyride!
looks like the medic will need a medic if he gets into that thing!!
Is that an IV bag in back? Or perhaps it is a thin façade for drug-running?
On the other hand, could be a medic for an amusement park or something.
Hm, in that case definitely drug runner.
I think calling this a "car" is being very charitable. OTOH, it's a great parts pack.
Released the same year as the excellent 7635.
Not as good, but would still be fun for kids.
This set was sent out by Huwbot to try to rescue the RPotD.
'Beatle, beatle, woo, wooo!'
While updated to the new (well, last gen and technically ski patrol) "extrication overall" uniforms, my EMS crew still includes a guy with that head (and a fire helmet representing the squad truck crew), and he's been that way since the uniforms were turnout coats and blue pants when I was a kid
Almost all the EMS (and occasionally fire) agencies here have a Gator or Polaris Ranger with a Kimtek slide-in for carrying a Stokes, spine board, or in one case, a full Stryker ambulance cot for festivals and off-road, but I have only seen things like this at big stadiums.
After crashing his go-cart, the medic is gonna need a medic.
If this is who they sent to save the pilot from yesterday’s RSotD, that dude’s sca-rewed.
Parts doesn't feel as special as yesterdays 2884 but it's a good looking set.
You all lack imagination. What if in the Lego City, the Health Institution takes part in Lego City Go-kart races? And this is their in-house built medic-themed go-kart?
Looks like the medic who come out if you crash in Mario Kart
One of but a handful of '0000' sets, along with 10000, 40000, 60000 and 70000 :)
Would have been so much better if they used the pull-back chassis like they used in those Shell polybags.....
The chief physician's golf cart. Think of Police Academy!
Perhaps this is a practice vehicle, and they use these go-carts against each other to train themselves to weave through traffic that won't get out of the way and reach their destinations in a timely manner with the ambulances.

I still love that head print, it works so well for a lot of City minifigs...
I love it. It's a polybag, so they can't exactly give you a full a ambulance. So if we 'have' to make it a vehicle, it was always going to be like this. So with that in mind the inclusion of a black briefcase, a siren pole and what looks like a medical pump (the clear 1x1 round brick and tap) is more than what would be strictly needed.
Of course, it could do with doors. or sides at all. But it's fun!
@raven_za now this set feels so special! Even though the numbers aren't meaningful, it still feels like a lotery win!
A freebie given away with the Daily Mirror, in the UK.
Which is why I have four of them >.<
Clearly this is for getting around INSIDE the hospital.
Looks at "car"...thinks: He must work at the Airport...or a park...or a golf course...:)
After reading some of the comments, I want a Lego=themed kart racer...
@WizardOfOss: Speak for yourself; I have a great nostalgic attachment to that chassis piece, as it (or at least a functionally identical mold) was in some well-remembered sets from my childhood.
Almost looks like a Back Of The Box rebuild from 6523.

I know, I know. It was part of my childhood too. But those pullback chassis were part of my 2nd childhood, and you bet I would have loved them during my first....I just call it improved nostalgia ;-)

That is interesting trivia; thanks for pointing it out.
Of those, only 10000 seems consequential enough to justify the number.
