This bricklist is the controversial companion to its predecessor and consists of those sets that really should have been thought a bit more about before being released by Lego. Superbly littered with a collection of those painstakingly annoying sets that made you cringe, this list will enlighten you in ways unimaginable. The set with the worst design. The set with the utterly useless baseplate. The set with the ugliest minifigure. The set with the most worthless bricks. The set that will make you vomit. The set that will make you vomit and then eat your own vomit. The set that will make you vomit, eat your own vomit, and then vomit again...I digress, this experience is relative – but the scenarios are endless.

This list collates all ships released by Lego, in chronological order, since the beginning of the Pirates line. It includes POTC but it excludes re-releases, mini-versions and any ships that are not to minifig scale (Duplo, juniorised era releases.. etc).
35 Largest LEGO Sets of All Time
This is the list of the biggest LEGO sets of all time by number of pieces.

If you had all of these sets, it would add up to 207,297 pieces. (Broke 200K pieces in 2023!)
This list reached a milestone in 2023 - every set in this list is over 4000 pieces! I remember starting this list circa 2017-2018 and only about five or six sets at the time were over 4000, with number 35 reaching as low as the 2700s. Interesting to see how quickly large sets like these have been coming out!
The set 40179 Personalized Mosaic is not included because it is not the same set every time. It has the same number of pieces in every set, but the final product is never consistent. In addition, there are two versions of the set, one with 4,502 pieces, and one with 6,002 pieces which adds to the inconsistency.
Sets designed by Jamie Berard [Unofficial]
Other people have tried to list all of Jamie Berard's sets - what's special about this list? I tracked him down on Facebook to ask him firsthand which sets he did. His response was detailed and precise, but making it readily available (and easy to follow with pictures) on Brickset seemed like a good idea. His comments are in quotes, the sporadic other notes were info I happened to know (let me know if I should add something).
Newer sets have been added (by Brickset staff?) that did not appear on Jamie's original Facebook list, but have been publicly attributed to Jamie elsewhere (such as in official designer videos advertising the sets).
Weakest Star Wars sets - 1999 to 2009
Which Star Wars sets have disappointed the most over the years ? We all have our own list of the sets we love to hate, and here's my list - one set per year since 1999 when it all began..... And just in case anybody's wondering, I own all these sets, so I speak from personal experience.

Large Creator creatures
I really like the Creator animals. Here's a list of the large ones.
Creator Sets With Minifigs
From 2011, some creator sets include a minifig and also more variety than just standard houses, including lighthouses, log cabins, tree houses and shops. This turns it into one of the most exciting and collectible lines, with minifigs, multiple instructions and relatively sophisticated builds.
Over the years this has expanded to include various vehicles alongside the buildings, and a subtheme of buildings with matching footpaths that appear to be a cheaper alternative to the expensive Modular Building range. The latest development is a series of 'modular' buildings made up of smaller components that can be interchanged between sets. (while these might offer a new play experience, this writer prefers the older style of more cohesive buildings)
NOTE: Does not include Modular Buildings or other special sets that have been included into the Creator theme, specifically those with only one build.

Redesigned Star Wars Sets
This is a list of every Star Wars ship that has been re-made as of 2011. It does not include sets with ships that have been re-released, but not changed (7140 X-Wing as 7142 for example). It also does not include ships that have been repackaged with different or more ships, but not redesigned (7146 Tie Fighter repackaged in 10131 Tie Collection or 7166 Imperial Shuttle in 7264 Imperial Inspection). It will not include mini-scale or midi-scale sets, only system/minifigure. Ultimate Collector Series sets are also omitted, UNLESS they are minifigure scale. Sets redesigned for the Clone Wars TV series are inlcuded. If a ship is part of a larger set (the redesigned AT-ST in the Battle of Endor, for example) it will be inlcuded. The purpose of this list is to assess LEGO's redesigns and determine whether they are improvements or not. It also serves as general reference.

Residential sets
The focus of Town and City sets of the late 1990s up till the present has been on "action" themes. However, a town is a lot more than just police stations and petrol stations. These sets are the houses required to build a real proper (minifig scale) town.

Back then, LEGO only made play sets without the minifigures. When the play sets were losing popularity and kids didn't buy them LEGO did not know what was wrong. Until in 1978, a brave worker, Jens Nygaard made a little man (after 50 prototypes) and there began the minifigure.

Shell in Lego
The oil company Shell and Lego goes back a long way. There were Shell sets even before there was minifigs. The first sets were 325 and 491 (neither of which are available in this database). A Shell "subtheme" was launched with the minifigs in 1978. Even after "Octan" was introduced in the 1990s as the oil brand in Lego, Shell continued to produce special Lego sets, some of them with Shell's logo.
Shell and Lego signed an agreement in 1996/97 to cross promote the other's product and although this lasted until 1999, a large number of sets were made. Shell and Lego's cooperation continues at present with the Ferrari license.

Star Wars Battle Packs

The Ultimate LEGO Universe Factions Guide Part 2: Space
Once again I am creating a list of sets that one could concievably collect and put together on display to showcase the peking order for all Classic Space Themes villains and heroes, who's in charge of what. Who fights against who.
Once again I will be working on the In-Universe Canon that I personally would love to create fictionally speaking for merging all of the LEGO Universe into one grand master Universe, every Theme, every Battle, every bit of Fun... So anyway, I digress. Let the LIST Making commence.
LEGO Universe Sets
LEGO Universe is LEGO's Massively Multiplayer Online Game, and it may come as a surprise that, at first glance, it seems to lack any real LEGO sets. However, with closer investigation, there are a wide variety of LEGO sets, both classic and obscure, that appear in LEGO Universe.

Minifig Magnet Sets - Glued vs Not Glued
Here is a guide to the various minifig magnet sets, showing which ones are not glued to the base and which ones are glued to the base.
Since I like collecting minifigs, I was thinking it might be helpful to start a Bricklist of the minifig magnet sets and have them listed by those that have removeable minifigs and those that have glued minifigs. The reason this idea came up was I had set #852948-1 (Female Minifigure Magnet Set) still on card and I was thinking about getting rid of it (I had no use for the minifigs if they were glued to their magnetic bases). Once I found out the minifigs could be removed, I changed my mind and decided to keep this set.
Since then I've thought about getting other magnet sets, but I found it difficult to find out exactly which ones are glued and which ones aren't. I thought a Bricklist would not only help me, but other minifig collectors as well.
Thanks to Farmer_John and akunthita I learned a little something about these magnet sets. Basically anything before 2011 is not glued, while anything after is glued. There is apparently some overlap with some sets that were sold both ways. When in doubt, the later sets state on the backside that the minifigs are not detachable.

Advent Calendars

Motorise a train using Power Functions
The bare minimum required to convert a train to power functions. There are other non- essentials, such as lights, extension cables, polarity reversers (potentially useful if operating more than one motor on a single train) but these can be added at your leisure.

Re-inventoried, redesigned or re released sets
A list of sets that have either been altered whilst available or are re releases of previous sets; this may be for aesthetics, part availability, function, structural integrity or other reasons.
Criteria:
1. Changes in mould or print (including changes causing new piece/item number) don't count. This would also cover minor changes e.g. adding pupils to an existing head design, or updating a head to a 'gap stud' from a 'solid stud'.
2. Sets released containing the same parts but different packaging or year of release won't be listed
3. Sets where the design has been reworked due to parts change(s) WILL be included, e.g. #4563 redesign due to reduced cab cut-out-
Modern Mini-figure Impulse Sets
A list of the modern one mini-figure impulse sets introduced by Lego in 2008. All impulse sets contain one mini-figure and a small amount of utilities for the figure to interact with. The impulse sets should not be confused with polybags or other promotional sets. The mini-figure impulse sets are special as they are all delivered in a real Lego box like other mainstream Lego sets. However, the box is very small. A mini-figure impulse set normally contains between 15 and 30 bricks. Price is between US$3 and US$5 depending on place of purchase. Lego ended the series in 2010. Here are examples of sets excluded from the list on purpose as they do not really fit the definition above: All polybags and promotional sets, 4933 Street Sweeper, 5373 Knight & Catapault and 7901 Airplane Mechanic.

A list of all the Lego animals, to collect or get the instructions from brickset and build them. I bet there are some you didn't know about!
There are a few which you'd be better off buying as sets, such as larger animals like Shelob and Deep Sea Predators, or those with rarer pieces (like the green hinge on the frogs legs).
The criteria I've used are:
- Brick-built rather than moulded.

The Most Complex Bionicle sets
This list is a selection of complex Bionicle sets that includes functions within them. Some have alternate models, combo models, gear functions and even RCX controls. The sets are listed by number of pieces.
It enlists all 2001-2002 Big Sets, as they were all cosidered as Technic sets, since Bionicle was meant to be buildable figures with Technic pieces.
It also includes almost all Battle vehicles, except some from 2009, that, while having good piece count, includes no gear functions or have predictable building.
Skopio's building is repetitive but not challenging at all, and he has no gear functions, but his pieces make up for him to be on this list.

8 Stud Scale Cars
Cars for minifigs built to an 8 stud width standard. This width allows 2 minifigs to sit side-by-side without resorting to one of the special Adventurers/Indiana Jones vehicle seat pieces.
To qualify, the vehicle doesn't necessarily need to be exactly 8 studs wide or seat 2 minifigs side-by-side. The vehicle's scale simply needs to match the 8 stud width standard. Semi trucks, for example, should be 10-12 studs wide to fit the scale, since they're wider than conventional cars.

Lego Star Wars Sets That Are Long Overdue For A Redesign
As many are aware, the Lego Star Wars lineup is well known for redesigning and re-releasing sets within a few years. Not counting UCS or mini sets, we've had four Millennium Falcons, four X-Wings (the original trilogy T-65s), four Sith Infiltrators, three TIE Fighters, you get the idea.
For the record, I don't have a problem with this as they're great opportunities to acquire ships you may have missed out on and the newer versions are generally more detailed with better construction. It's rare for a redesign to be worse than it's predecessor (except for 75058 MTT from 2014). However, in over ten years of the theme there are a few ships and locations that have only been represented in Lego form once and are due for a redesign.
NOTE: The notes alongside the sets will be updated accordingly when these ships/locations are redesigned in an official Lego set.

A History of Lego Trains
This list walks through the history of Lego Trains. More than just a hilights or favorites list, I hope it's informative, leaving the reader with a good sense of how things have evolved over the years. While several models are listed, many are not--my goal was to select only a sampling of models specifically representative of their type or era.
Technic Duplicate Sets
A list of all Technic Sets that have had re-releases.
Have included a few promotional duplicates, as well as a few that were obvious recolours (in the competition era), as well as the EU/US duplicates in the 1977/1978 years

Bricklist organized by the originally intended release date of the sets. When the exact release date is unclear, the sets are organized by the order of the set number.
Furthermore, I can only add cancelled sets that are on Brickset's database.

Star Wars Minifigure Scale Sets
A collection of Star Wars sets calculated to be true minifigure scale. Minifigure scale is being defined as 1/45 regarding the height of the minifigure, and the length of sets on this list are within 10% perfectly to scale. Only the most "to-scale" version of each ship is displayed. Sets are ordered from most to least "to-scale".

Creator sets with 10 or more user alternate builds
I love that the Creator sets inspire alternative builds. As a Lego fan with a relatively small collection it is somewhat liberating to know that I will be able to recreate builds I see online by only acquiring one set. Even the smallest (and cheapest) sets can offer hours of challenge in recreating user submitted builds and in turn creating alternate builds. Here is a list of Creator sets that have at least 10 user submitted alternate builds.-

All sets with the pre minifig minifigs
I am quite surprised that no one so far has made this list!
Here are all the sets with the pre minifig minifigs. They only lasted from 1975 to 1977. The figs already have a yellow head but no face. And no moving arms or legs, just a slightly glimpse of arms and feet.
Men got on their head a cap or cowboy hat, women got the famous pigtail. A 1x2 plate becomes a belt or a neckerchief for cowboys. So, 4 parts with up to two additional parts made a minifig in those days. In 1980 there was a cameo of this sort of minifig, find out in which set that was!

Lego Space "Impulse" from the 1980s and the 1990s
Before there were "Impulse" sets, there were these small sets in Lego Space. Each set featured a minifig with a small vehicle (usually). The set numbering started at 6801 and increased numerically (more or less) in the subsequent years. Note, promo mini-sets are not listed here.

Skrall
The Skrall were a group of conquerors that would win every arena match. When threatened by these shape-shifting robots that can appear from nowhere at will, they moved away to another city and attacked it when Glatorian and Agori were there. Their leader, Tuma was later deafeated by Mata Nui, which made Tuma look bad, so the Skrall abandoned him. The Skrall also had the bone hunters as allies.
