Pictures of two more Scooby Doo sets
Posted by Huw,
Hoth Bricks has just published images of two Scooby Doo sets, 75901 Mystery Plane Adventures and 75903 Haunted Lighthouse taken, presumably, at the German toy fair.
Will at Hoth Bricks states "75901 Mystery Plane Adventures features Scooby and Sammy in pursuit of the headless horseman. 75903 Haunted Lighthouse again with Scooby-Doo and Sammy accompanied by Daphne, a bearded ghost and a creature of the marshes."
Head on over for a closer look and while you're there check out a picture of Star Wars 75903 Final Duel.
Thanks to Kez and Sinthoras for the heads-up.

Wouldn't that be Shaggy, not Sammy, or did he get a name change with the reboot? :P (Probably just a translation thing, but found it funny.)
Still, some decent looking sets, doing the theme justice.
^ I believe Shaggy is known as Sammy in quite a few non-English speaking countries.
I know no better so trusted what Google Translate told me :-)
Huh, well I guess that makes a lot more sense now! Thanks!
Well, I had only planned on getting the mansion and the van...now it looks like I will get them all...my kids didn't need to go to college. And the Final Duel looks great!
Actually, Luke did have a blue lightsaber during that part. LEGO wouldn't randomly change the color to make it inaccurate.
Wow, that Final Duel does remind me of Palpatine's Arrest... although annoyingly, we can't see Vader's helmet!!
Scooby-Doo sets look pleasantly cartoony... might get the plane just for the pumpkin-headed dude. It can't be more than $20, right?
I was anxious to see what The Final Duel looked like. Very happy that it doesn't hold a candle to the Death Star version, so I won't need to get it.
Luke definitely has a green lightsaber in ROTJ, he lost the blue one on Bespin in TESB.
I know it's somewhat related to the formula and problems of the original show, but in the view of LEGO's commercial strategy, I think it's not good to see all sets coming with Shaggy but other human members weirdly become exclusive or rare, something usually displease FOLs.
It's interesting to see some variations of locations and monsters. A Hobbit beard is reused and a pumpking head finally comes (but not sure if it minuses a place for CMF series). It's the third time for us to see such kind of modern lighthouse, so hope that the playability is different.
I was confused as to why they referred to Shaggy as "Sammy", but I realized the term "shag" has very different meanings in America and the U.K. They probably changed his name for the European versions to not offend anybody.
Well that confirms I won't be getting Death Star Duel. Very similar to the scene that they put on the death star. Obviously on a larger scale, but the basics are all the same. Plus there are no exclusive minifigs to the set, unless you are going to count the new darth vader.... Good set for those who aren't getting the 10188 death star.
Holy Balin's beard in grey; Gotta get that somehow. Makes Scooby Doo theme like 600% cooler.
Dorayaki, the Hobbit a Beard and MF Swamp Creature head may simply be mock ups for the figures. These are still preliminary pics I believe. Although it does illustrate how useful some of the hobbit beards can be in multiple colors.
I like little Star Wars vignettes. I have Palpatine's Arrest and the Yoda/Dooku duel was nice too so I'll get this new duel set even though I already have the Death Star. My only disappointment with it is that the steps leading to the throne look a bit chunky and the Emperor looks the same as the recent exclusive minifig that came with a recent DK book (obviously not very exclusive anymore, much like the polybag Clone Liuetenant that has been re-used in another SW set this year).
As for Scooby-Doo, these sets look pants. I'll probably only get the Mystery Machine and pick up the rest of Mystery Inc. on the aftermarket, unless my kids have a different outlook on the sets.
I love these Scooby-Doo sets.
From the Hoth Bricks page:
"...Scooby et Sammy (Shaggy dans la version anglaise de la série animée)"
See? Right there is says that it's Shaggy for the English version of the cartoon. :)
"Actually, Luke did have a blue lightsaber during that part. LEGO wouldn't randomly change the color to make it inaccurate."
Wrong, during the final battle with the Emperor and Darth Vader he used a Green Light Sabre. It should have been Green, not sure why they gave him blue instead as that's from an entirely different scene in an entirely different movie.
Just to confirm that Luke's lightsaber was green in return of the Jedi,

really hope that they aren't inaccurate with the blade in the proper set
Come ON people, it's the same thing every year. IT IS A PRELIM! No, Luke will not have the wrong color lightsaber in the final product. They aren't going to suddenly start slacking on huge details like lightsaber color after a decade and a half of making their products ever-more insanely accurate to the movies.
That's extremely disappointing from Lego and Disney. So far, Star Wars sets for 2015 have been mediocre in my opinion...are there no pics of Tydirium?? That's the one set I'm actually hoping is decent..again according to me. Eugh
I want the Death Star Duel! I don't have any other sets with the emperor or Darth Vader so it is a must have.
Those Scooby Doo sets are wicked, too. Balin's beard ;)
The dual is great even though it is a bit of a rehash of a few sets. The Scooby Doo sets I love, that love however is driven more by the fact that they have decided to stay true to the original show. Perhaps my enthusiasm for this is also driven even higher by my huge disappointment that the turtle line did not have as much of the retro spin as I had hoped.. poor bebop and rocksteady, a mini-figure they shall not be....
Btw, did you guys see on that website also 3PO and R2 (advent calendar): http://www.hothbricks.com/2015/02/75097-star-wars-advent-calendar-2015-gros-plan-sur-c-3po-et-r2-d2/
These look nice! That plane kind of reminds me of a 2011 Pharaohs Quest set ( http://brickset.com/sets/7307-1/Flying-Mummy-Attack ) based on the way it's built but the chain reminds me more of 2005 Dino Attack or of 2012 Monster Fighters type things where the lighthouse reminds me a bit of a 2008 LEGO City Cost Guard Tower (http://brickset.com/sets/7739-1/Coast-Guard-Patrol-Boat-Tower ) just to name some things that these remind me of, as I missed out on those sets however that makes these all that much more likeable!
I'm a little disappointed with the final duel set. Smaller than I was hoping. I will get it but add some extra features myself
Looks like Scooby has goggles on for Mystery Plane Adventures!
The lightsaber thing is making me laugh!
Luke's was green for the entire film that this scene is from. This is obviously a preliminary model and that detail's been missed or overlooked. What's not totally obvious about all of that?
Thanks for the link by the way! I'm really glad to have seen it, I haven't got and don't really want 10188 so I'll be glad to get this. It'd be weird to not buy a single one of the 2015 range too! Though you never know, I might still go for the T-16, we did see the side of it, a model of it, and hear it mentioned in the first film, it just about qualifies for me!
@fuelbreak - I read somewhere that the creaters of the new TMNT have said they want to put Bebop and Rocksteady in the show this season. So perhaps we might get minifigs of them, but it'll be their new versions.
I am thoroughly disappointed with the Final Duel set. I have watched many Scooby-Doo episodes, and I have never once seen this "Death Star" or "Luke Skywalker" in any of them. At the very least, they should have gotten rid of this "Emperor" person and put in Scrappy-Doo instead.
@Modok - The Final Duel set is from the Star Wars theme. Huw was just saying there was an image of the set if you wanted to check it out.
So that somehow is $70? I wouldn't mind getting the new Vader and Palpatine..but I don't know about that price tag.
How different is Palpatine compared to the Visual Dictionary version? I may just pick that up.
@Brickaddict221 - I believe that was sarcasm from Modok....
I agree on the Final Duel set, don't know if it justifies the high price tag, especially when anyone who already has the Death Star has this scene depicted perfectly already IMO. Maybe it'll be a place holder set for once they retire the Death Star? (before they release something else, maybe a new Death Star?)
@mcbbvb - i like the idea too, but paintings should be improved in my opinion. And maybe there is another way to imitate antlers on R2-D2. I wish one of this '80 christmas postcard in the set. It would be splendid to send card like that to someone special.
@natro220 thanks for the tip, it appears however that the turtle line is dead so our two little friends may never make the minifig cut.
^^I'd picked up on that (and @Modok's sarcasm). In fact, I thought your comment so early on meant nothing else needed to be said about the mysteriously blue lightsaber.
You can see the wing tip of another 2015 model in the Final Duel Picture.
A Headless Horseman of Halloween set! :D And a Scoo-be or not Scoo-be set! I love the Ghost of Hamlet and Sea Demon minifigs!
