Second SDCC minifig revealed

Posted by ,

The Wall Street Journal has just revealed a second minifigure that will be available at San Diego Comic Con next month.

It represents the Arrow character Arsenal, aka Roy Harper, and 1500 will be given away on Thursday July 9 via a raffle.

You'll find an out-of-packaging picture after the break.

This brings the number of exclusive items that will be available at this year's event to five.

So the rumours are confirmed and I am absolutely in need of one! I will be keeping an eye on eBay.

Lol I agree with @brickdancer. I do consider myself a completist but I've learned to rule out these sdcc sets. I just would rather buy a modular with my 200 bucks than have one figure. It is a very nice looking figure tho

@MrsEspo12774 Just wait and buy a nice custom of this figure from someone like PhoenixCustoms or Cristo....quality is excellent and for around $35 each, much better than what you have to fork over for the SDCC exclusives

Great. Another exclusive Minifigure. :\

Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get a complete DC SH collection. (Especially as I don't own any yet.) :P

I have no problem with Lego giving out SDCC exclusives, I just wish they weren't minifigures I wanted so much. :( I do hope this means that they are planning on possibly releasing Arrow sets in the future.

I know a lot of people like superhero figs, but I am glad that most of these have been superheros instead of star wars or LOTR exclusives. I can pass on all of these. There has never been a SDCC minifig that I had to have that did not come out later, whew!

Interesting that they did base this directly off of his appearance from "Arrow", unlike last year's Green Arrow exclusive minifigure which was based off the New 52 costume. 1500 of each exclusive figure is a nice number. As much as I've been enjoying Arrow (my folks and I are almost to the end of Season 2 on Netflix), I won't be going out of my way to get this. But it's really cool that it exists.

Will this be all the SDCC exclusive figs for this year, I wonder? Last year there were four, but last year the LEGO Group also devoted their whole NYCC presence to BIONICLE, and I don't anticipate them doing anything of that sort this year.

I don't know enough about the characters, but I thought last year's Arrow was based off of the show. It just so happens the show and New 52 look similar. I don't know.

I have finished season 2 of Arrow. I knew Roy was trying to get in on everything, but I guess I didn't know he becomes a Red Arrow.

This figure does look neat, but it isn't something I *have* to have. Although I would gladly take one if the opportunity arises. I found a good deal on Phoenix when she came out, but ultimately I haven't attempted to pick up any others.

Oh man, this is one SDCC exclusive I'd really REALLY like to have... Oh well.

To those looking to nab one of these. Keep an eye on ebay during the show. The first ones that pop up will probably be listed at $200 or so, but then as SDCC winds down you'll notice the market gets flooded and the price may be as low as $75. That's when you grab one. If you wait to long, they will disappear and the few on ebay will skyrocket past $250.

Last year I sold my extra Zur-En-Aarh Batman minutes after winning it for $300 shipped. The price eventually settled down to around $100 later on in a month or so. Patience is key if you want to save a few bucks.

And now the Zur-En-Aarh is back up to $250-$300 on ebay.

I just wish Brickset and Bricklink wouldn't number these in the same series of minifigures as the rest. I honestly think that's what drive a lot of people crazy. Just list all SDCC exclusives -- whether Super Heroes or not -- with their own numbers. So instead of this being sh189 (or whatever it will be), why can't it be classified as sdcc39? That way I won't have those gaps in my collection when I pull up my Brickset account. Just a thought that would benefit the obsessive among us.

Awesome ill be there Thursday but still not that good of a chance of being chosen from the raffle though. might have to make a trade with someone who wins but are more interested in a different exclusive I have

@Sethro3: I thought so as well, but after I started watching the show I looked up some pictures for comparison and there really are not a lot of similarities.

The only Comic-Con exclusive minifigure my brother and I have is last year's Unikitty (which he bought online), though we did get the exclusive Tahu masks when we attended NYCC last year.

@lloki1....If they do it like last year, it is not a raffle in the truest sense of a raffle. What will happen is you will wait in a very long line (which goes pretty quick once it gets going) then once at the front there are two kiosks with iPads attached to the. You press the button and it tells you if you are a winner or not.

So, if they do like last year, there are no tickets and no drawing.

Arsenal looks sweet! Which sucks as I just bought a custom of him....Grrr. :)

Man, I wish I could get one of these. But I won't be at SDCC. Guess I failed this city ...

Man! This year's line-up is really strong, seems like there are a lot of collectors will have to buy them... Hopefully there will be no SW minifigure giving out this year. (But I have a bad feeling about this... Since the Force Awakens)

Almost every toy company that has a presence at SDCC has exclusives that make the fans drool. It has been that way for years. I think it is neat that Lego has made an effort to do special superhero characters for it at all - it is COMIC-con after all. Besides, every collector needs stretch goals. Whether you collect coins, stamps, comic books or LEGO, no one can get everything... unless you are as rich as Bill Gates. Then you MIGHT have a shot.

I personally would love to have an Arrow based set or two. Since they did an Arrow themed DLC for Lego Batman 3, the licensing should not be too difficult. Right? A set for The Flash would be nice too... And Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - I REALLY want a Phil Coulson Minifig. Where is Phil in the Lego Marvel Universe?

I am such a nerd.

^I heard rumours from a very reliable source that the 3rd SDCC figure to be announced for this years con is... Phil Coulson.

onlyjoking :P

Interesting how they didn't actually brand the blister pack with the Arrow show logo, like they did with Secret Wars for Sam Wilson's Captain America. Really hope that LEGO do do Flash sets/figures at some stage. :)

Wow would love this as a huge fan of the Arrow show, but sure its going to be going for lots of money and well out of my budget. Would also love to see Arrow sets in the future, but unsure Lego will do them due to the violence in the show, having said that you can get Arrow DLC for Lego Batman 3, so fingers crossed.

LukeSkywalker, if LEGO did make a SDCC exclusive Coulson, there would be a lot of angry fans. Including me :)

Roy Harper looks really good, shame he's exclusive though. :(
