Not very keen. I don't really like the look of them. We already have such a lot of Superhero system sets (which I do collect, even Mighty Micros). I'd like to see some different IPs or internal themes instead rather than yet more Superheroes (or Star Wars).

Glad to see the Unikitty tail in black though.

Cubedudes! Finally, everyone can get them. These look great. There's a huge crossover potential with all the people who love and collect those Funko vinyl dolls.

Is this just some sort of response to Mega Blocks Kubros? They seem kind of pointless and expensive to me, nothing that anyone with a handful of sets or a classic bucket couldn't knock up themselves...

Hope this great sets come in one per case. The only one I am interested is on Black Panther, he looks both cute and dangerous at the same time.

@Adzbadboy Except the arms aren't the same. The Lego Ideas set has arms that are 1 stud wide, 3 plates thick, and rotate about the "shoulder". The BrickHeadz are 2 studs wide, 2 plates thick, and don't appear to rotate. The only similarity is that the end in clips, which isn't really all that novel or unique.

They're cute, but I'll probably pass on them.

Definitely unexpected... They all look splendid, except for black panther. Too bad, since he's such a cool character in Civil War. Dr. Strange though ;) I might have to pick up a few.

@Hushed new-ish, it's been appearing in Spider-Man sets recently as a handle for the new web part, and a few come in the new Ecto-1.

awful. absolutely no interest from me. And $20 each? wow LEGO, you keep finding new and better ways to make your products ridiculously overpriced ripoffs.

Huh, when I saw these earlier today, I thought they were just cool little MOCs with some decent custom printing...

Now I really feel like Lego is stepping up there game with putting out great products. This is something I can set on my desk or something and it looks professional. These are probably not going to be the biggest hit for kids, but I can see these being a great hit with teens and adults. Great job Lego for trying something new and different!

Lego catching on the chibi figure market again like megabloks cubros. things like this should stay exclusives then theres no point in having an exclusive launch.

I just noticed the printed tile on the bases with a fairly large and prominent LEGO logo. I find that a very interesting addition. Is LEGO going to start trending this way with more of their product, to promote brand differentiation/recognition?

The name "BrickHeadz" doesn't sit right with me. For whatever reason it sounds like a competitor, like something you'd just grab from Five Below when you don't know the difference between LEGO and its clones.

They look suspiciously like the Mega Bloks Kubros line: https://collectors.megabloks.com/en-ca/kubros . That's all I'm going to say about them. :D

This is cute. As a fan of the Super Deformed art style, consider me interested. They look like really cute display pieces similar to the Pop Vinyl figures. Though I kinda wish they were pose-able... Cute figures are nice, but pose-able cute figures would be even better!

They look fun, but it's really not my thing, so definitely a pass for me (although this is the way event exclusive things should be handled IMO). I'm with LostInTranslation I'd rather see other IPs (or better yet, more DC sets with a focus that isn't Batman or Superman) but I doubt that LEGO making these prevents anything like that from already happening.

Sorry to sound rude, but have (some of) you guys never seen CubeDudes before? This isn't a new thing at all. Of course they'll look like MOC's or Ideas projects or those MegaBloks things. There's only so many looks you can have with this design.

@Adzbadboy: That project was started 11 months ago, so these sets could have been in development already.

Looks neat! I probably won't buy any (esp at $40 a pair!) but they are nice looking sets.

Edit- The Marvel ones look a lot more well done than the DC ones IMO. Especially Iron Man and Cap!

@theBrickBlogger None of this stuff interestes me, so I'm not buying either, but from a construction/design standpoint, I think the MegaBloks Kubros actually look substantially better - facial detailing, feet, etc.

Austin worked on the BrickHeadz sets and designed the graphics too! So the idea did originate with a fan, it just happened to be a fan who then became a designer :)

I really like these, they remind me of funko's pop vynils which I have way too many off...
Clearly a display item, i'd love the joker on my desk :D

@Adzbadboy @joel.Baker the basic design is from Austin Carlson. The superheros orientation and articulation of the head is my idea. Lego has chosen the base model. My inspiration was the Funko's pop vynils.

Megablocks line Kubros sells well!

I think the DC ones look really good, and the Iron Man/Cap one is pretty good. Not a fan of Black Panther... if these are sold by themselves, Doctor Strange will be probably my only Marvel purchase out of them.

Kind of meh. I'm with @dougts in thinking the MegaBloks ones look substantially better.

I can understand people not liking these, but personally? I can't wait. I just wish that all of the exclusives came out later as non-exclusives, like these will.

I think Batman is the only decent looking one, but I still won't buy any. Especially at that price. Hopefully the price comes down a bit, but I'd still be hesitant, considering there are so many other sets I'd want and no reason to waste my money on these. And looking at the Kubros (since I've never heard of them), I'd say they have a better varied character selection. MB has been doing a lot of good things. They are already doing a better TMNT line than LEGO ever did...too bad.

As for these, interesting but unnecessary.

These do look cute, but for Australia it sounds like they'll be *absurdly* expensive, and I just don't need to be spending more money on cute Lego one-off display pieces.

Now I know how the Adventure Time haters feel. Ugh.

While I think these are cute, the more I see of them the more I only see the black Unikitty tails, the awesome printed pieces, 1x3 tiles, anime eyes, a recolored (white!) 1x1 antistud with pin holder, the brilliant economy of parts for some of the details (the bat ears, for example), and the printed tiles for Iron Man's eyes. I think the parts alone are probably enough justification for these (but not at SDCC prices).

I think these are charming! Will try my best to get a couple while I'm there but it's not the easiest process.

I don't think heroes fans should be too disappointed in the exclusivity tag - this will likely amount to the printed tile on the base, packaging and at the very most a couple of very minor aesthetics tweaks - if any.

Are these going to be the new and more expensive mixels? I think they are fugly and for once the MB version actually looks better!

All these comments about Kubros made me google them, and man, the human faces on those are terrifying.

Cool in theory, but I do wish LEGO kept articulated arms at least -- I know these are more stylized buildable statues than action figures, and for good reason, but I also think pose-ability goes a long way and I imagine it'd be easy to do. We could mod it, sure, but I think it'd be a selling point.

As much as I adore Lego's Superheroes range, if I want a Funko Pop, I'll buy a Funko Pop.

The builds look nice and cute and all, but honestly I'm worn out on the "oversized head figure" thing that oh so many companies have been doing for a good long while now. I certainly prefer these to the Funko Pops and bobbleheads and whatnot, but yeah, don't see myself buying 'em. Gimme more Mighty Micros instead!

For what they I think they look fine, they definitely lean towards that super-deformed style like Funko Pop. I applaud them for trying something different from their usual products but they're just not my preferred style of figure. At first glance the $40 price tag looks bad but we really can't grasp how bad until the part count is revealed. I wouldn't be surprised if the pairs that're released later on through standard retailers aren't closer to a $30 pricepoint.

I do wonder why they went this route instead of something that to me would've made more sense. The Giant-Man from the Super-Hero Airport Battle set (http://brickset.com/sets/76051-1/Super-Hero-Airport-Battle) is proportionallty a bigger version of their own minifigure design. Using that build and making other heroes would be more in line with what I'd consider buying.

This is not representative of how I did ever or would ever play with Lego. If other people like them, good for them. Definitely not my thing. I think to like them you have to like this big-headed blocky style of figurines in general... and I just don't.

I hope they make these for other themes such as Star Wars! Then I would buy them. They look great though!!
