I leapt on the Magic Maze/add on pack offers like a starving dog on a plate of sausages, so I may have to give this double point offer a miss, sadly.
Sigh, Insiders points just doesn't feel the same as VIP points...
Need to get the Bookshop before it retires, but so many good new sets at the moment!
HUZZAH!!!
I've been looking for a good opportunity to buy the Alpine Lodge. This might be it.

If the GWP conditions from that Thai store apply worldwide, then there will be two days of overlap between the pirate GWP and double points.
I already have one order on the way so it's probably too soon to be thinking about another one, but if we do indeed get double points plus the pirate GWP, that might just make me pick something else up.
I was waiting for double points to buy the Venator. I'm hoping it'll be back in stock by then (it probably won't, so I'll just wait for the next double points event).
Oh good, I was having trouble placing a new LEGO order.
Pirate GWP is available from 13th I think, so wait until 15th and also get double points... been waiting for this... Ninjago city markets will be purchased finally! Maybe Houses of world 4 might drop in there too?
Eldorado Fortress, Pirate GWP, double points... I have been waiting all summer for a promo like this, and have held off until now to make this purchase. Sorry, but a stupid maze just did not cut it 4 me.

That depends on the value of the item(s) in the order. The double points is for the whole order but you only get one of the gift (or one of each gift if there are multiples at the time) whether you just reach the threshold or go way above it. So there are cases where the points are worth more than the GWPs, especially if you cannot split the order. If you are ordering two mid-sized sets, it might be better to split the order and go for GWP. But just one huge set and points may be better..

Fear not, they will rename it at some point again. That is inevitable.
The Christmas GWP had better be worth it - that is what I am waiting for with a [potentially necessary] large purchase. That said I might get started on my Christmas shopping and get some double points at the same time.
Hmm, quite tempted to get the 21060 Himeji Castle or 10315 Tranquil Garden with 1 (or perhaps 2) GWPs. 2x Insider points just about making them cheaper than Amazon (although the Amazon Prime Days could well change that).
Or maybe it's time to just play it safe and backorder the 10318 Concorde.

The LEGO Insiders program is going through changes, but don't worry, all your Insider Points will be saved, you don't have to do anything. LEGO Insiders will be rebranding and be known as LEGO VIP! What does VIP stand for? As an Insider, that made you a Very Invaluable Patron, and we want to reward you as such!
Somewhat tempted by a modular on Oct 13 to get the pirate GWP and 2xVIP. Neither are necessary, but nice, and retiring modulars won't be in stock forever.
Might pick up the modular Police Station before it retires.
I've managed to clear some space for building, so come the overlap between this and 40597's availability, 10320, here I come! Or I guess that should be, "Here you come." To me, specifically.
If there's double points and GWOP then may be time to pick up 10318 Concorde. 42158 Perseverance is also on my wanted list. And there's always 10325 Alpine lodge which is needed before December to expand my Christmas village.
Concorde time!!

It's true, it does leave me feeling only mildly important now. Maybe modestly important, but that's pushing it.
I've got a few things to order and was waiting for a 2x VIP (sorry, 2x "Insider"--that's going to take some getting used to) to come along, so this is timely. Hopefully will be a good GWP or two floating about at the same time.
I'm waiting for the Xmas GWPs.
Excellent news! I've been waiting for this to order the modular police station.
What a good month October is turning out to be. Seeing DPD more often than family! Will have made a serious dent in my most wanted wishlist by the end of the month.
Just hoping that Black Friday will be its usual anticlimax, as my year's Lego budget will be long gone before then!
I bought the Lego House set and Tranquil Garden at the start of this week, double points are nice but the maze and being able to get the house is better (plus the two bonus VIP add on packs - not Insiders packs I note from the order!)
So sad I can't get the LEGO house in Canada. It's a great display piece.
Luckily there are a couple of sets I wanted to pick up before Christmas and was banking on October double VIP points, so it's good that they're here! Also a nice bonus with the pirates GWP.
I'm going to continue to call it VIP anyway - I want to still feel important! Anyway, I was in the Stratford store in London a couple of weeks ago and they still have loads of the blue VIP cards for new members - it's not gone away immediately. Good luck LEGO - even 'Loyalty' and 'Clubcard' sound better than 'Insiders'.
I've pulled back on my Lego spending this year. Backing two boardgames equally $500 will do that, with another launching next month that'll probably cost another $300...
I've even considered selling some old Lego sets to make some extra spending cash. Probably going to part with my old 7676: Republic Attack Gunship.
The new Modular and Dune Ornithopter will definitely get me to spend on Lego again next year.
I want to get a bunch of Star Wars sets before they retire. Whether I will is another matter entirely.

The bookshop doesn't disappoint. It adds so much warmth to a modular shelf.
could this be the time to buy Titanic ?
I went to the Lego store at Mall of America and they still refer to it as VIP, so even the employees haven’t caught on.
I may have to consider something for double and pirate gwp. We shall see. I have such a backlog.
Been waiting for something like this to finally scan my instructions.
It’s the 10th today. I just placed an order. There’s no indication in my order confirmation e-mail or indeed in any part of the ordering process of double Insider points. Should I be concerned?

In your basket, the amount of VIP points earned is shown in blue below the "order total".
And after you finish your order, when the "Thank You! Your order has been placed" screen shows up, the amount of points is also shown in a yellow square to the right.
It doesn't say you're getting double VIP but each product has the amount of points you get. You can do the Maths to confirm it. For example, each 39,99 product gets you 300 points.
The emails don't show the number of points. When you add it to the basket, if there's double VIP, you'll see "600 points" being displayed.

I registered two of my sets. I've got only 2x20 insider (VIP) points for them as normal, no doubles.
Btw:
"Points can’t be earned for LEGO CITY Missions sets.
Most sets will have QR codes on the building instructions, apart from some smaller sets and any made before 2018."

Thank you very much for your answer :~) .
Unfortunately, I had already placed the order when I realised that there was no mention or indication of the double points, so I was already beyond the 'Thank you' screen. I will just need to wait and see how many points I have received a few days after my order is despatched. I have made a note of my current points. I may have to contact LEGO CS, but hopefully not :~\ .
