The Ford Anglia is definitely my favorite Speed Champions set

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

That owlery looks seriously incomplete. I can't believe I'm saying this: it needs stickers. Norbert looks adorable though
Forbidden forest looks like a fever dream.
Hedwig mech seems unnecessary
Wait, MARCH?

Gravatar
By in Australia,

The "magical creatures" set looks interesting. It seems like a parts pack for moulded animals, but I still kind of want it, the blue leaves are pretty.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Boathouse, Owlery are standouts. Honorable mention for Hut thanks to Fang & the new casual clothes torsos.

BMW two pack is pretty sweet.

SECONDED! It even features cheese grater 1x2 parts, except without the grater portion! We are going to need a fan name for this new part...

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Wow all these sets are amazing. Though, i think i'll only be getting 76424

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh dear. I always start with good intentions to wait a couple of months for Speed Champions prices to reduce.... but impatience always wins, and these ones do look pretty good!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The boathouse and owlery are great, glad they at least did the first version of Hagrid’s Hut so we get lots of new stuff with it

Gravatar
By in United States,

I'm just looking forward to the Monkie Kid and Ninjago reveals. Any day now...

Uncut Cheese.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I see a lot of great new SPACE parts in there! That’s very exciting!

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Weakest HP lineup so far.

But that Ford Mustang Dark Horse is really nice!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Another Hogwarts Roof Colour Change? Thank goodness I never switched to that awful green one.

Hagrid’s Hut is the best of the HP (only because I want one in my display), although I prefer the Prisoner of Azkaban version. The rest are quite average at best, and I have no idea when Hedwig started to take illicit substances, but I think we should stage an intervention.

Gravatar
By in United States,

** new 1x2 solid slope needs a name **

I vote "door stop".

And, that BMW 2-pack might win the award for "Most Stickers In A Speed Champions Set." And that's a high hurdle to overcome.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

One day they'll include some Lego bricks in those Speed Champion sticker sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Lmao at how how they’re literally making up nonexistent scenes for Harry Potter sets because they’ve been milking the line *that* excessively.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I really want to get my hands on the bmw set!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don’t understand the HP roof color change after we just had waves and waves of green roofed modular sets.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I've been wanting an eight-wide Mustang since the scale change. Shame it isn't in green like 75884 was. Blue is my favorite color, so I'll still get it. I'd love a Bullitt one, though.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Love that the Flying Ford Anglia finally gets its own set, will most probably be my first ever HP set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I don’t normally get the US made speed champion sets but I am a total sucker for the dark blue on that mustang.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I dig the hair element on the driver with the Mustang. Is that one new? I have not seen it before…

Long cheese?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Hagrid’s Hut uses the new reddish orange color. Glad to see it being used as leaves. Should make for some beautiful autumn MOCs. :)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The wheels on the BMWs look ridiculously tiny

Anglia is from the scene where they almost get hit by the train. The boathouse is when they arrive in Year 1. Hagrid's is when Norbert hatches. The Owlery is when Harry asks Cho to the ball. The Hedwig set is a bit too open to nail down to a specific scene. So you must be referring to the Magical Creatures Battle Pack. Given the parts and animals that are included, I think people will forgive them for stepping outside the films a bit.

@Zordboy:
Big Cheese?

Gravatar
By in Spain,

Sticker Champions!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Oh man what did they do to Harry Potter?
Do i need to buy all set sets to make one complete set?
Im a big fan of the previous Harry Potter sets, but these are remakes of pieces of retired sets. None of them seem complete.
I though hedwig was a 4+ set at first. Its horrible!
Not a great line up this time.
Speed champions are on point as usual.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I Think that the Speed Champions deserves to have their very own cartoon series in 2024!

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Baby owl and norbert nice

Gravatar
By in Canada,

JB Spielwaren has the pictures of the new Lego Technic 'Space'. 4 sets, all look fantastic! Hopefully the functions will be as good as the look of the models (well we most likely know the functions of the orrery).

Gravatar
By in United States,

Fun to see some different locations rep’d in the HP line. It’s also nice to see mostly smaller ones. Will I be getting any of them, though? Probably not—but we’ll see!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

HP Portraits???

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Ford Mustang's a definite "Yes", and the Audi reeeeally has my eye (really like that box art...)

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Speed Champions line is a bit disappointing. Nothing really strikes my interest, and they look remarkably similar(yes, I am not a car person). Hopefully, they cover some more old cars since I really like the shaping on them. The Dark Horse has the most interesting building techniques, but the Ford Anglia is a better looking car. The Harry Potter sets seems okay. I only buy the polybags so I'll probably pass. Although I might get the Anglia and Forest creatures on a steep discount. I regret not getting that centaur set on discount a while back. I'm looking forward to the polybag reveals though!

Gravatar
By in United States,

"Harry Potter and the Speed Champions"? Is that a new book?

Gravatar
By in Canada,

I see a new doggo, baby owl, and a new owl?

Noooo! I'm so grateful that Lego's finally catching on and not including as many stickers, it's fantastic!

Gravatar

I just realized Fang is completely the wrong color and I can't unsee it now...

Cheese ramp.

Gravatar
By in United States,

As someone who’s not at all into Lego Harry Potter, I’m really excited about this line. Boathouse, Hagrid’s Hut and Forbidden Forest all look great for castle/fantasy fans, even the Owlery too. And the Ford Anglia will be a great (affordable) display piece/gift for folks who are more HP fans than Lego fans. Hope the license doesn’t inflate costs of these sets too much.

Not personally into Speed Champs either, but that theme has really been carrying the torch in terms of affordable, great-looking sets. These new ones are no exception.

Gravatar
By in Denmark,

Dang that Mustang looks nice

Gravatar
By in Latvia,

I really like Harry Potter (the books, at least; the movies considerably less so), but haven't yet picked up any sets from that line. I doubt that's going to change with these new ones, although I admit to being tempted by the variety of owls in 76430 and the hippogriff in 76432.

Not a fan of these speed champions sets though. The latter two seem to be suffering from the stickers plague just like so many others from this line, and while 76920 looks like it's doing better on that front, the car itself feels blocky and boring. But maybe that's just me.

Long cheese?"

That was my thought too, since it seems to be more like a stretched cheese than a grater-less grater.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

I have no interest in any of these. Even the ford mustang looks almost like the toyota supra or the ferrari 812. I have just recently started building speed champions sets. In my opinion they get boring realy fast. Once you have build 2-3 sets the next seem almost the same. Same building techniques with same outcome in a large 8 stud wide scale without any functions. I have build '6 stud wide cars which can open the doors, the trunk, the bonnet and you can take off the roof to have better acces! For me unless they do some classic cars i wont be buying speed champions in the future. Waste of money in my world.

Why do they re-release the harry potter sets we already had some years ago? Cant it be over at some point? hp make space for something new! Star wars the same thing. Such an old franchise, too often repeated. That it doesnt get boring to people i can and will probably never understand.. Sure, disney wants to make money every once in a while. Got it.

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

It is amazing to see how long one can milk a franchise that has been dead for more then a decade now....

nice cheese slope though, wierd that it took them so long

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Not that big of a Potter fan (enjoyed the movies, but that's about it), but that Anglia is my favorite of the bunch.

As for the CS sets, Mustang seems okay but rather generic, never seen that Audi before but it looks like a stickerfest. I like the BMW set the most (those gaping holes in the front do make them instantly recognizable...), but again, so many stickers....

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Is anyone else bothered by the medium legs in HP sets based on the PoA and later books/movies or it’s just me? The actors are nearly adult-sized… Apart from that Harry and Cho look great in the Owlery set. I’ll need to order the full size equivalent of each leg well in advance just like I did for the advent calendar.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

That’s a pretty cool Karen driving that Mustang.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

NEW PART MOULDS LET'S GOOOO

yeah some of the sets are kinda nice but I won't be buying any of them. Pick-A-Brick here I come!

Gravatar
By in Italy,

still no other F1 Speed Champions? sigh!

Gravatar
By in United States,

All these Harry Potter sets look amazing! It's the perfect wave to get your hands on some of the main characters!

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

That Ford Anglia is the Luke's landspeeder of the Harry Potter theme.

Gravatar
By in United States,

@Ogbigd31081:
First Owlery, first Boathouse, first baby Hedwig (not that she ever was a baby on-screen, except for that time she cried about getting killed), first Magical Creatures Battle Pack, but Hagrid’s Hut and the Ford Anglia are kinda like the X-Wings of HP. Too bad about the short stripes on the doors. Mine uses strips of white sticker backing to complete the stripes, but I’d love to finally be able to swap those out for fully-printed stripes.

Let's call the small one Edammer slope, and the larger Gouda slope. That would correspond nicely to the actual cheese.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Shame about the flat roof on the Ford Anglia but I can live with it.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Anglia looks like a solid update to the version in 75968, and it might be possible to part out the necessary pieces to update the old one if you have it. Boathouse is a welcome addition, but it looks like the same McGonagall minifig from 76399 and 76382, and while it's nice to have additional unsorted Hogwarts robes, I think they could have swapped Hermione out for a less familiar student. Susan Bones, maybe? On the plus side, brick-built boats mean they can be altered to accommodate Hagrid. Also, the clips sticking out the back of it make me think that we might be getting more sets which are supposed to connect to it. The Owlery is another nice addition to the Hogwarts grounds, and the Harry and Cho figures look pretty good. Hagrid's hut looks to be an improvement over 75947, with new Hagrid/Harry/Ron/Hermione figures and Fang and Norbert to boot. Forbidden Forest is kind of weird, but not bad-weird. I think the blue tints to the colors are supposed to make it look like a night scene, which is appropriate for the setting. The Hedwig set is not great, but depending on price, it might be an ok display piece. Looks like the Privet Drive sign is stickered, which is unfortunate. Overall, not a bad lineup, and fortunately doesn’t look like anything should be too expensive. I’m thinking maybe $99.99 tops, for Hagrid’s hut, based on 896 pieces, compared to 496 for the $59.99 previous version.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Most of the HP sets are unnecessary to anyone who's been collecting the line for a few years. But with that said, they look fantastic--I especially like the new Hagrid's Hut (although I feel like Fang should be dark grey, and not brown).

Multiple of last year's Hogwarts sets had clips in that position, so they will probably just stick with the current modular Hogwarts.

Gravatar
By in Norway,

I hope we get a dual review of those blue Fords next year. Fun to see the difference in themes approach to at shape and scale. Might need to get both and compare with one from whomping willow set

Huh. I haven't seen all of last year's modulars in person yet, but I thought they only used Technic pins to connect sets. Thanks.

DOOR STOP - YES! That's exactly what I thought but you beat me to it.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

My interest here is purely in Speed Champions. It looks like an ok lineup, but I think last year was better. Only three sets though, so maybe more to come? Maybe if they add a couple more cars that are really good I will come around.

Overall it feels like they have taken a subtle turn back towards the "toy"-look, rather than continue pushing for more realistic scale replicas as has been the case over the last few years. I would have preferred the latter as that is what sets this line apart from everything else. And also makes sense with bothering to license with all these manufacturers, doesn't it?

- Best part about the Mustang must be the choice of color, love that! I lack blue in my collection (since I never got that topless McLaren). The old windscreen is the worst for me, I have never liked that part. The build looks like it's probably more interesting than it first appears.
- The e-tron is the strongest of this bunch, I think. The real thing is a wacky machine so it lends itself well for this kind of thing, because even if details are a bit off it still looks right.
- BMW is the weakest for me. What's up with that choice of wheels and tires that stick outside of the bodywork? Size looks fine to me, but that width and lack of spokes? None of those cars carry that look at all. And BMW's racing color scheme is just hopelessly hard to replicate in this medium, as already shown with the big technic bike. Tons and tons of stickers and it still looks botched.

Gravatar
By in Sweden,

Oh, forgot to add that I really like that new 1x2 tile with cut corner!

Gravatar
By in United States,

It is interesting how many people are raving about the HP sets considering these seem to be a major stepdown from the quality they've had in designs prior. *shrug*

But I will pick up a few thanks to new figures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Time for the Harry Potter line to take a break…

Speed Champions needs more product than it gets. There, I said it.

Gravatar

Hey, those new Ferrari's of the CEO aren't getting any cheaper either! It's not like they have a choice....

All jokes aside, I guess they have seen that enough people are willing to keep paying those prices, or otherwise just wait for 30% discount at Amazon. So obviously they just keep trying how far they can push things.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Oh No!! Speed Champions price up again, single car set was CAD24.99 in 2021, CAD29.99 in 2022 and 2023, and now CAD34.99 in 2024.....
