Seriously though, I like the contents of this add-on pack, but not enough to buy overpriced sets at RRP directly from LEGO. This pack should be easy enough to get on the aftermarket later.
As for the name, why do they still call it VIP add-on pack even though they changed the name of the program to Insiders months ago? They don't really know what they want, do they (other than loads of our money)?
I don't find 40599 appealing enough to get anything else in the second half of December. I was expecting another GWP and had a few expensive things left on my list but this GWP isn't enough to get me to pull the trigger. Maybe if they had double points I'd get a set on my list but I think that expired.
Is this for in-store as well?

I'll definitely be getting 40610, but it's kinda weird that it's only running for 9 days. Why not extend it all throughout the rest of the year?
Didn't want another 40599 so waiting for another similar threshold GWP before I get the Orient Express or Museum.
Got 40610 with a couple of Brickheadz off the wishlist..
There are also a couple of modular building Pop-up postcard packs that have just appeared on Insider Rewards ... look quite good, if a bit overpriced.

Because they may have another end of year general discount planned.
Dare I say these two sets seem to represent the extremes of the whole GWP thing?
I can somewhat see the appeal of 40599 , but it looks far inferior to similar sets from other manufacturers (usually around €10 or less....). A small set with only few somewhat special pieces and quite the number of stickers. Yet at a absurdly high threshold, especially considering you can get most of those expensive sets with a good discount elsewhere.
On the other hand, 40610 looks great for what it is. Sure, it's not really a build, but lots of interesting, less common and partially printed pieces! And at such a low threshold? That looks like a pretty tempting deal!
I was hoping for something interesting since I didn't go for the carriage GWP, and the add-on pack looks nice, but 40599 does nothing for me - particularly since I didn't get the first three. Since there is no double points promo, and the sales page is looking pretty sad, I don't think I'll be getting these. But I might grab the add-on pack on bricklink eventually. Those are nice.
Can't wait until I'm old enough for the Insiders program. Then I can finally get my mitts on those sweet add-on packs!
