What is your favourite minifigure of 2023?

Posted by ,

LEGO has produced 1036 minifigures in 2023, passing the threshold of one thousand within a single year for the first time and providing more choice than ever before!

Nevertheless, your nominations have decided the sixteen most popular minifigures released this year. Plenty were suggested and the nomination process was very close, so vote for your favourite after the break...

What is your favourite minifigure of 2023?

Minifigures that narrowly missed qualifying for this poll include Indiana Jones from 77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb, as well as Izzie and the Night Hunter from DREAMZzz.

You can participate in our other 2023 polls here:

Which minifigure did you vote for? Let us know in the comments. The results will be published in the New Year.

Space baby! Space baby! SPACE BABY!

By in United States,

Falconer gets my vote. But the Dreamzzz figs are very neat.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

Sora!! I'm a bit disappointed there's no one from 71799, that set has some amazing minifigures.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Moon Knight, for sure. Really hope I can get him on Bricklink.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I gave my vote to Nightmare King for TLG's effort that goes to creating new, original characters.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I can't separate Brown Spaceman from Spacebaby!

Therefore.... better be...

FALCONER!

Gravatar
By in United States,

The Batman 1992 figure is awesome!

Gravatar
By in Belgium,

That Nightmare King looks excellent. Will have to seriously look at Dreamzz line! Vote still vent to the Falconer though :-)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Went with Falconer. I have two of both of the space figures, and was tempted to vote for the brown spaceman, but he is brown.
Nightmare King looks pretty cool too. I considered him also.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Ahsoka Tano. Batman close behind

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Not sure how 71038-2 Pinocchio didn't make the cut. It's clearly one of the most innovative minifigs of the year, but I guess a lot of purists weren't keen on the extended nose.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Rex for me. batman 2nd. if u could vote for two.

Gravatar
By in France,

My vote would have been for Indiana Jones for sure ... but among the ones here, Moon Knight really baffled me when it was revealed (and it still does) even despite the fact I can't stand Marvel Super Heroes

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I voted sora, but she ain't winning.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Adam Warlock A.K.A. Ayesha's 1st born son!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lord Ras should be here imo. Brand new head mould AND arm prints! Amazing for a NINJAGO figure

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Moon Knight is a perfect example of excellence achieved in a pure white minifigure. Flawless, whether you like superheroes or not.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Personally, I would assume that the brown Spaceman and the Space baby are one and the same item. Obviously highly debatable and both views are kind of correct (from a certain point of view!) For all the 'charm' of the Space baby, I still went for the Brown Spaceman as I can use it properly in my neo-Classic Space mocs.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Why are the Spaceman and Spacebaby separate entries? To split the votes and make it more unlikely that one of them wins?
Doesn't sit right with me to be honest.
I voted Spaceman of course.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Honestly none of these really stand out much this year.

Batman 1992 is pretty good for a polybag, but similar to the 89 fig from a few years ago.

Classic space, great, but same fig different colour, no longer as special as it was when they did pink, as there have been so many recently.

Rex is great, but let down by his exclusivity to the venator.

Moon Knight? he is very detailed but personally I prefer a bit of colour, rather than almost all white.

Sora comes close, but wish it had more of the hair like as seen in the show over the hood.

Space baby, I guess is cool.

By in Poland,

There are many great minifigures here and it is hard to choose but I voted for: NJO820: Sora

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

Voted for Sora before looking at the rest so I don't know which ones were in contention, but here is my top 5:

1st - Sora
2nd - Spacebaby + Brown Astronaut
3rd - Falconer
4th - Orc
5th - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Honorable mentions: Robot Warrior, Blacktron Astronaut, Lys Solay, Mulan, Aurora, Pocahontas, Nightmare King, Wyldfyre, Tails, Dr. Eggman, Dani Dennison, Professor Huyang, Shin Hati and Funky Kong

Most overrated: Captain Rex for sure.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Even though I haven’t watched the moon knight series was is my absolute favorite

Gravatar
By in United Arab Emirates,

Voted for Beast as he was the one I was most excited for, but Falconer would be my second as a favourite that I have.

Nightmare King and Sora I do not have, but would like to get as they look top quality and are original Lego creations.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Falconer for me. She occupies a prominent place in my medieval display, and makes me happy every time I see her.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Tough bracket!

Brown Spaceperson and Space Baby are easy choices, but the Falconer is amazing, Beast is perfect, and Warlock is one of my favorite comic characters. Robin Hood is my favorite Disney film, and the Nightmare King is probably the strongest out of a stacked lineup of Dreamzzz minifigs. Batman ‘92 is great. The other choices are no slouches, either. Good problem to have!

I did consider including the Brown Astronaut and the Spacebaby as one option, but decided against it for two reasons. Firstly, there were lots of nominations for one or the other, so many people presumably considered them separately. Also, even though the Spacebaby serves partly as an accessory to the Brown Astronaut, the likes of Grogu and Baby Groot are treated as independent figures, so I think the Spacebaby should be as well.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Spacebaby, Moon Knight.

Not on the list: The CMF Wolverine is pretty great.

Gravatar
By in Hungary,

Voted for Sora as my daughter identifies herself with her and we had lots of fun playing with her and the…
Orc! Which would be my own vote and Moon Knight as we had one blank box and he was it! Great fig.
Falconer loses as were not able to get her :(

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Beast!
Though I did forget I about Bo-Katan Kryze in the entry round :$
Consider her a very close second ^^

Regards,
Mitch

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nothing really standing out TBH. But it seems like all Lego have to do is to colour swap the classic spaceman and it keeps everyone happy.

Gravatar
By in Ireland,

I don't have any of these minifigs.
I don't like any of these minifigs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Nightmare King or Night Hunter both were fantastic. Loved the Falconer and the Troll Warrior, but both seemed a bit too retro to compete with the Dreamzzz designs. Would love to have Warlock and it should be up there, but the Dreamzzz figs were better. I'm in the minority obviously but Moon Knight looked very weird to me. I liked either the Storm, Beast or Wolverine from that series better.

Gravatar
By in Brazil,

I love how well built Brickset is. You just hover a link and it shows a preview of the item so quickly!

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is a really tough choice.

Gravatar
By in New Zealand,

Captain Rex for me! Annoying that Indiana Jones from 77013 missed out. I own that set and he's a great minifigure!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I know Moon Knight was the most popular from Marvel series 2, but Kate Bishop was still my favorite from that wave and just overall this year. Really comes down to having been just a little more excited for her and the fact that I think she was perfectly executed in every way, whereas my 1 nitpick w/ Moon Knight is that the alternate face should've been an alternate head instead

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Lots of minifigs in that list that I don't care for (& many that I do not in that list)
The only one I possess is Sora, so that's where my vote went

Gravatar
By in United States,

I voted for Orc. I have three, and they look great on 7048 Troll Warship.
My nomination was for Izzie from Dreamzzz. I plan to be at the store tomorrow, waiting for it to open, so I can get 71472 Izzie's Narwhal Hot-Air Balloon... and perhaps some other sets! ;)

Gravatar
By in United States,

Robin Hood got my vote. I love the figure so much, and the head sculpt is perfect!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Any chance you could include a list of the top 16 in the article? Now that I’ve voted, it’s not available, and I’m curious to see it again.

You can just open the page in either a private window or another browser, and see the poll again.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

Have none of those, but when narrowed down to sets I would eventually get (so unlikely to be Licensed or CMF), it's between Sora and Nightmare King.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

Brown classic spaceman. I hope they keep bringing more new colors in 2024!

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Orc. TLG are more than likely looking at these polls.......Orcs!
Do more stuff with ORCS :o)
Loved Moon Knight tho...

Gravatar
By in United States,

Robin Hood and Prine John translates to Lego better than most animated animal characters and are very iconic. Just wish they also had Maid Marian.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Pretty damning that Fox didn't even make the list, they really dropped the ball on him.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Brown Astronaut because Classic Space. Spacebay would have been perfect if it was Sand Green.

Gravatar
By in United States,

No fair putting Spacebaby up against Brown CS fig! I believe a lot of us submitted Brown CS and assumed Spacebaby was an accessory. That's going to be rough.

I'm hoping so much for a Turquoise one

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

I picked Orc. Didn't want to pick something from non-LEGO IP, nor something that's a rehash or too similar to existing.
The orc feels different enough, and has some really clever neck/chin element design.

Spacebaby was their own minifigure in 31142.

Spacebaby! SpaceBaby!!! SPACEBABY!!!

For real, Hounddog McBrag was robbed!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

It was a tough call between Batman '92 and the Nightmare King, but I picked the Dreamzzz badguy just because he's pure cosmic horror, and I love it when goes all out for it's original villain figures.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Difficult choice! I went with the orc but was tempted by the brown Classic Spaceman, space baby, Batman and falconer - all of them excellent.

By the way, the Nightmare King minifig is coming out this January/February with the Dreamzzz Magazine, a relatively cheap and easy way of getting it.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Why is Newspaper Boy not on the list????

There were lots of nominations for both together, too [so many people presumably considered them as one]!

Gutted! This obviously splits that vote, effectively knocking it (or both) out of the race.

Gravatar
By in Netherlands,

When the Forestmen were introduced I was very happy as it allowed me the play out the (further) adventures of Robin Hood (1973). To actually have that Robin as a Lego minifig is something I never imagined would happen. And figure looks great, so that's were my vote goes.

I'm also happy we got prince John, but I still would like to see a Maid Marian minifig. One can hope!

FALCONER!"

Same reason I went for her. The fact that she's a redheaded Action Lady helped. I like Batman '92, but part of the reason for that is because of 30653, so voting for him would only have been partially because of the fig, and partially because of that set.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Falconer, Brown Spaceman, and Beast are all excellent, but specbaby opens up a whole new world of building / playing, so I chose it. (yes, I know there are also the microfigs from Lego games as well... but this one looks so much better)

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Bit disappointed by the lack of Indiana Jones, but Space Baby is cute.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Kind of a weak year for figs actually

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am going with Sora. A really cool looking new original figure.
I also really like Moon Knight, Ahsoka, and Falconer.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Well I'm surprised by the general lack of Indy, but the Spacebaby is amazing. I might have procured the space rollercoaster mostly because of it, and it definitely gets the vote here. That said, I'm also very impressed by some of the Dreamzzz figs, and I do like the fact that TLG are putting a lot of attention into an unlicensed line!

Still, Spacebaby...

EDIT - also the Ernesto de la Cruz fig is awesome. It was the only CMF that I really wanted, and thankfully it only took 2 dips to get him.

I know, but Brown CS fig was an easy 2-for-1 and now we have a difficult choice.

By in United Kingdom,

Moonknight, Kate Bishop, Storm, N1 microfighter Mandalorian, 92 polybag Batman, Vision,

There's too many to choose!

Gravatar
By in Australia,

if sora doesnt win im doing what kurt cobain did

Gravatar
By in Malaysia,

Ernesto!

Gravatar

Ernesto de la Cruz for me as well. Really sums up the charm of that movie!
