Oh the new one. Looks quite nice.
OH, MY were doomed I tell you DOOMED, R2......? R2 oh no he's gone. taken by the evil Huwbot and now he's put me up for torture in front of these people! what will they say about me?
C: I am C-3PO, human - cyborg relations. I am fluent in over three million forms of communication...
Owen Lars: I have no need for a protocol droid.
C: Of course not, not in an environment such as this. That is why I have been programed with other tasks, such as ..'
O: Can you understand the language of moisture evaporators?
C: Evaporators? Sir, my first job was programming binary load lifters, very similar to your evaporators in most respects.
O: Can you speak Bocce?
C: Yes, it's like a second language to me, as I said...
O: ok, shut up. We'll take this one and the red one.

I gotta admit, I read that in Anthony Daniels voice.
Printed shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes…
Printed shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes…
Eyes and ears and mouth and nose…
Printed shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes!
You probably didn't recognize me because of the printed legs, toes, and arms!
Looks like he is crying

I once attended a Star Wars music show hosted by Anthony Daniels. Near the end, he unbuttoned his jacket and revealed he was wearing a gold vest, at which time he started, in 3PO character with sideways bobbing head and torso, to tell us the odds.
I don't go out much to things like that (big family + small budget) so there are few rival memories, but that show will always be remembered as a good one.
It looks so bad with the silver printed like that on a fully gold leg. Not as bad as sw0561 from 75059, but definitely the low rent version of sw1209 from 75341.

Oh, dear!
Clearly recognisable, which I imagine wouldn’t be the case if he had, I dunno, a red arm or something
This was a high quality minifig to get from a magazine Gift. It looks superb irl, at least the one I got.

One of the big reasons for getting 75341 was because of the dual molded leg. I also really just liked the set, but the fact I could finally get a good looking modern C-3PO with the dual molded leg helped a lot. I can do without the arm and side leg printing though. Minifig 3PO works best with more simplicity, but he never looked right with just the bit of silver or gray just being cut off like that. Why even bother including that detail if you don't have the whole leg change color?
He sure came a long way from the pearl light gray version.

He is delivering a tears in rain monologue

"taking big rips off a bong shaped like IG-88's head..."
Considering IG-88's head was a reuse of a bit of set dressing from behind the bar at the Mos Eisley Cantina, that's strangely appropriate.

I'm pretty sure all of us did!

Star Wars in Concert, in 2009, right? I saw that one too, when it was in London; I remember that moment you describe, it was right as he was introducing The Asteroid Field number - it was especially effective because he was otherwise wearing an all-black suit, so the gold really stood out - and, like you say, dropped perfectly into character to recite the chances of successfully navigating an asteroid field directly from the movie!
Finishing with an extremely put-out sounding "Of course, there are *some* who prefer to never be told the odds..." xD

Yes, that’s the one! The laser effects during the show were spectacular as well.
Vaguely familiar. If it was all gold it looks like one of them "stellar battles" robots.
Surprised no-one has mentioned that the gold plated C3P0's are probably one of the most expensive mini-figs you can buy, so best let the kids play with this one instead.
No one referring to Creepio and his singularity engine? Where are the Auralnaut fans? :D
