Being "Corporate Historian" for Lego sounds pretty cool

By in Netherlands,

It's been 70 years since windows and doors have been introduced in 1954. I'm guessing it will be a pile of doors and windowframes. Or a UCS door with plaque.

It has to be this, 2024 is the year of lego space across most of the themes.

But, the question is- what colour will it be?

I met two of them at the Fan Tour, they are a fascinating bunch of passionate people, really glad that Lego invests so much in the history, the museum, the set vault, etc.

probably blue because it's classic."

Except Blue wasn't made until later. Red or White would be the true "classic" colors.

By in United States,

If I wasn't married with a kid, I'd totally go and book a flight from the US. I wish I knew about stuff like this 15 or 20 years ago. I wish I was out there traveling more.

Skip.

@NoOneOfImportance173:
Yup, Red and White (which internally represented cosmonauts and astronauts when the first minifig sets landed), Yellow within a year at most, then Blue after the blue/light-grey/trans-yellow color scheme was winding down, and finally Black.

You’ve got me chuckling. I recently went to the opening of the Lego store at the Trafford Centre, Manchester. 10:30 on a Thursday morning. The only youngsters I saw weren’t even walking yet lol

Lego timings do seem a bit daft at times

By in United States,

yay! an event to announce a set I will never be able get!!

By in Canada,

It better NOT be a large scale spaceman.

Remember, these products are exclusive and you have to go the the Billund Lego house to buy them. If Lego ever smarten up and decide to do classic spaceman products galore, I definitely would like them to be widely available everywhere on the planet.

By in Poland,

Come! let me show you what you will never be able to get!

By in United States,

I'll bet it's a brick built, large scale 4040 or some other Galidor figure. It's about time for a revival of Galidor.

Or maybe a minifig scale 8315 with all the main cast as the figs? I could actually see me owning that, just to put it in sci-fi displays to have people either go 'what?' or recognize it. (I actually watched the TV show back then)

By in Germany,

If it is a space themed set i hope for the first female space minifigure as a brickbuild one which would be Doctor Kelvin sp017. That would be awesome!

That would be a musthave for me!

But i do not think that Lego drops out another buildable minifig just a year after that Brickbeard dude.

Seriously, kid. You're obviously a good student. Look at the above comments. Grown men are considering getting on an airplane to have a little adventure (with a toy as an excuse).

Go have a little adventure. It'll do you good.

Is that the day when they teach all the important life stuff that you need to know? No? Unless you have a final exam or something, take a day off. You'll remember it for the rest of your life. If you stay in school that day, I guarantee you won't remember anything about that particular day...except maybe regretting not going.

I'm not someone who regularly skipped school either. In fact, I had perfect attendance in my first year of high school. (They invited me to an awards ceremony and I nearly died of embarrassment when I learned the award I was getting was perfect attendance...so I made sure that never happened again.) However, I'm 50 now. I wish I made more time for things when I was younger.

In college, my favorite band came to campus for a concert...but the night they were playing was also the night before the third largest projects of my entire time in college. I stayed at the dorm to work on it and didn't go to the concert. Now, 31 years later, I cannot remember for the life of me what the topic of that project was...but I have always regretted not going to see They Might Be Giants play. The project was pretty much done anyway and I could have spared a few hours.
