Dave Bautista had a crotch gun in Glass Onion.
(He had a pocket in his swimsuit that he put a gun in. It was terrifying.)

This is why I sugested there needs to be need of different naming shemes.
That's not even a buildfig. THIS IS JUST A SIDE BUILD.
And if we want to be specific.... Why Spider droid from new set is not considered "Minifig"?

By in New Zealand,

This is a droid murderer! Its legs are made from battle droid torsos!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Does anyone else find the designation “dwarf” a bit odd? Like, the only thing that makes this droid dwarf-like is the sheer size of the other droid in the set it came in. Why isn’t that one “giant spider droid” or this one “some function other than homing spider droid.”

Nah, they had one of those in From Dusk Til Dawn, and while it didn't make any sense at all, it could easily be printed on the legs assembly.

By in Denmark,

By the technical definition, a figure requires two standard minifigure parts to be considered a minifigure and the Dwarf Spider Droid includes the torso and arm from a Battle Droid, so...

This is not a minifigure.

To address this briefly, I would not consider this a minifigure for the reason @Rimefang mentioned. If the Dwarf Spider Droid is a minifigure, the same should really be applied to Homing Spider Droids, Vulture Droids, Droid Gunships and others. However, that decision is in the hands of BrickLink.

Personally, I would place the cut-off point at Droidekas. I think people would expect to see them on a list of Star Wars minifigures, but not the Dwarf Spider Droid.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

Don't blame it on the minifig(s) or Huwbot. It's the database of that {thing) that got messed with.

Gravatar
By in Canada,

What's with the unsightly blue pin on that 'minifig'?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Droidekas being counted as minifigs makes sense to me since they're roughly minifig-scale, are considered general mooks for minifig battles, and are often put in the lineup of minifigs in set photos (though usually not included in the lineups on boxes; hmm). Dum-E being counted as a minifig is a bit of a stretch as even though it's a named "character" (insofar as being a robot arm that exhibits a small amount of personality) there isn't really a consistent build for it across the sets that it appears in (while Droidekas have gradually evolved they often settle into certain build formats for periods of time), so it feels more like a side-build. That said, in general, I'd probably consider anything that would qualify as an action figure in another toyline to be a minifig.

Dwarf Spider Droids are miniature tanks, not characters. I don't *think* Hasbro would label a toy one as an action figure; I don't really see this as a minifigure. It's a defined side-build of a particular subject matter. This particular one uses minifig-categorized parts, which is a point in favor, but not a great one.

OK, so what is the largest set we can find in the database that is "officially" a minifig by virtue of having two or more minifig parts built-in?

Start with pirate ships. A few have figureheads consisting of a minifig torso and head, plus other stuff.

I'd buy a new and complete Ego Minifig for the standard price of € 2.50 - 4.00

That’s not a minifig, that’s just a picture of a minifig

Gravatar
By in United States,

This is like "The Good Place" when someone calls Janet a "robot". She replies. "Not a robot." If someone calls her a girl, "Not a girl."

Huwbot posts a "minifig" that has no minifig parts...so people (accurately) reply "Not a minifig."
Consider it training for Huwbot's AI.

Well, technically those Battle Droids elements are not considered minifigure parts. The two or more elements need to be a standard head, torso or legs. There are plenty of sets in which undecorated minifigure heads have been used as part of something other than a minifigure, but I am not sure about the torso or legs.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Let me just say that the design of those spheres are very elegant. The way that the half-sphere inner sections pop in easily but stay secure enough is very well designed.

They can rotate seamlessly without popping out, and the anti-stud pattern and technic axle hole makes them versatile. A great solution to the problem of putting a sphere in a square-centric world (Lego).

Aside from the ship's figureheads I previously mentioned, best I can think of is they used to use two sets of miniquin legs on horses from that era. Those aren't technically minifig legs, though.
