Random minifig of the day: njo100

Today's random minifigure is njo100 Nindroid Warrior with Twin Blade Jet Pack, a NINJAGO figure that came in one set, 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger, released during 2014.
Our members collectively own a total of 2,519 of them. If you'd like to buy one you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $13.00.

Nindroid!
Rebooted is underrated in my opinion. It was one of my favourite seasons, and they had these cool villains.
Edit: But I did hate Jay and Cole fighting over Nya. Like, why can't you stick with Jay!
Nindroid battle pack when??
Ah yes, from the season when the Ninja met Borg.... as in Cyrus Borg, who is simultaneously a Steve Jobs look-alike and Star Trek reference in one person.

In my opinion, I think it was a missed opportunity when they made the Nindroids generic robot ninjas, rather than evil robotic versions of each ninja team member (similar to the villains in the latest Dreamzzz wave).
Not often we get a minifig photo from that angle.

these guys were really cool back in the day, and still absolutley are. really liked their buzzsaw motif.

The ones with no masks aren't canon and Mindroid was the only one with short legs, leaving just one Nindroid from that.

You know, I think people get so hung up on “canon” that they forget to ENJOY the literal TOYS.
Got the set this came in in a bulk haul. I have the jetpack for the figure bit not the figure.

So are the katanas wings in this particular arrangement? Or, since jetpacks generally do without wings, are they purely for slashing at people as you fly past like scythed chariot wheels?
First an alien android...now a ninja andoid. Lots of androids today.
Pretty 'metal' to just fly around with swords sticking from your sides. And if he 'crash'es.... they can rebuild him. They have the technology.

Not really. Borg was an actual visionary who just wanted to invent stuff for people to use to make their day easier. That was until he was hit with the Overlord in virus form of course, but at that point he was just puppeteered around.
Before season 3 began he apparently mechanized the entirety of Ninjago City (with the consent of its citizens). But at the end of the season he realized people weren't ready, so he helped everyone convert the city to its normal self.
That said... in season 7 they showed the debut of the 'BorgWatch'. And everyone in the city treated it like the newest Iphone release. So maybe he did take over the world...
