Random set of the day: Marina Bay Sands

Today's random set is 21021 Marina Bay Sands, released during 2013. It's one of 5 Architecture sets produced that year. It contains 602 pieces.
It's owned by 943 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $841.20, or eBay.

New Zealand architecture set when?
Sand? There's not even one single tan piece in the set. False advertisement.
The Mario Kart fan in me just sees a go-kart driving across the pools at the top...
I remembered seeing this recently in DuckBricks' Most Expensive Parts video. Apparently, that one printed tile goes for over a hundred dollars!

Can't believe we haven't gotten a CN tower architecture set yet
I visited Singapore and Malaysia earlier this year for the first time. Saw the Marina Bay Sands in real life, and was hoping to see it at the Miniland at Legoland Malaysia—but sadly that Miniland predates the real-life subject's construction so it isn't included. :(
I'd forgotten this set was that old; I thought it was more recent. I may have been thinking of 21057.

This would be very nice. That and Canada are probably the two countries I’m most surprised don’t have any Architecture sets. Especially Canada.
(Unless I’m mistaken and there has been a Canadian Architecture set since I last checked, but I’m pretty sure there hasn’t)

It didn't help that they took the set out of production very quickly after realizing they'd just released a model of a real casino.

The Beehive or the Sky Tower are the only two buildings that jump out, but I don’t think either could be described as either aesthetically pleasing or great architecture (maybe the Beehive was some kind of architectural achievement to build but I don’t have the knowledge to confirm that).

I would like a massive set of the beehive, like 10276 (although smaller and more affordable) And I would then like a smaller build like this one here for the Auckland sky tower.

Cool set, and in some regards better than the one in the Singapore Skyline set. But as a whole I do very much prefer that one. While the building on its own is nice, the combination with the other stuff makes it work so much better.
(and I need to visit Singapore again.....)
Maybe if it was a little larger, the H-shaped curvature of the glass could be made more apparent rather than appearing as 3 square tower blocks.

Triplet Tower of Curved Contours
This was the first significant set I wanted to buy, but decided was too expensive, so I built it with my own pieces and BrickLink orders. Substituted trans dark blue for trans light blue (which was expensive back then) and didn’t bother with the printed plate. Good fun, and $$$ saved

Isn't glass made out of sand?
I never understood why this set became so expensive. Price per piece is nearly as high as in 10190 . It's even more strange that apart from this plate the set doesn't have any unique parts. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Very expensive because there were only 10,000 made and only sold in that market. It wasn't available outside of Southeast Asia.
And yes; aside from the name plate, there are no unique parts in the set. You can Bricklink the entire set (except for the name plate) for relatively cheap.

Right, but if you are a completest of the Architecture line- and it is the only one you don't have - you might spend that. The box/instructions/printed tile account for probably 90% of the value.

@Lewa8439: Re: CN Tower...TLG probably look at the Space Needle set and say either "Same thing" (which it IS NOT), or "Close enough" (see previous comment). :)
