Review: 40728 Brite Bomber
Posted by Huw,
Brite Bomber is a rare outfit in the Fortnite video game which first made an appearance in season two during 2017. It can also be found in LEGO Fortnite, and it was the most prominent outfit used in the game's promotional material.
The colourful outfit and flamboyant hair-do should lend themselves to an interesting blocky character.
Summary
40728 Brite Bomber, 151 pieces.
A colourful character and a welcome GWP for Fortnite fans
- Interesting hair style
- Sunglasses not entirely convincing
The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author.

Over 250 of the blocky characters have been produced to date (this is number 254), but we are still encountering firsts. This is the first one to have sunglasses propped on its forehead. I'm not entirely convinced by them, though: not being familiar with the character, I initially thought they were headphones!
The in-game outfit includes a pink vest emblazoned with a unicorn pattern and that has been reproduced here on a printed 1x4 brick.
Her hair -- long, pink and tied up at the back -- is sufficiently elaborate to make for an attractive figure, and some interesting techniques have been used to mount the sunglasses.
Fans of the game who are buying the sets this week will be delighted with this gift, and aficionados of the blocky characters will find a lot to like as well.
It's available until the 7th October at LEGO.com, free with purchases over £80/€85/$85.

Brickheadz are always mediocre GWPs IMAO.
I keep thinking it's Hellboy's kid because of the sawed-off horns. Yes, I know they're shades.
Anyway, mine is going on eBay when my order arrives. I care not for Brickheadz or Fork Knife.
I was going to moan about this as it is the second BH GWP I have been 'forced' to get.
Then, I looked up 40412 and saw its resale value. I'm just going to shut up, now.
EDIT: BH is almost a decade old????!!! Yikes!
Just think of how many poor children have no memory of a world unpolluted by Brickheadz. :(
Well both, I think its a great free gift. I cant get enough Brickheadz even though I have never seen or played Fortnite. Its a bright model with unusual colours. Huw's Camera is so good I think we see things we wouldn't even notice when building ourselves. I'm hoping mine comes without the free cat hairs :-)
I didn’t seek this out, but to heck with it. I’ll display it in my Minecraft scene as an elaborate sculpture.
I've never understood the animosity towards the Brickheadz theme—they're essentially the Lego equivalent of Funko Pops. It's perfectly acceptable to dislike them, yet many adore this theme. While I'm fond of Brickheadz, not all sets are hits (I've yet to encounter a Lego theme where every set is a hit). I'm not keen on the Star Wars or Marvel themes; I find them overpriced and overhyped. However, you won't find me complaining about their existence—that's the beauty of Lego, offering a vast selection of sets and themes to suit everyone's taste.
Eh, it's a fine set. Wake me up when they make a customizable Kymera brickheadz.
Suggestion: Maybe add a picture of the thing it's supposed to represent?
(Obviously goes for every review of sets based on something)
I had no clue what a Brite Bomber is. And while in this case it's easy enough to Google it, sometimes that also shows misleading results.

"There appears to be a pretty fierce discrepancy between the colour of the plates, particularly the modified 1x4 at the eyes. That is not a great look."
Indeed, that's a big minus. Colour inconsistencies seem to be appear for more and more colours - when will Brickset write some articles about that and other quality issues?
No idea how well or not this captures whatever the subject matter's supposed to be, but this looks fine, and well worth the asking price!
Got mine the other day and immediately flogged it off on EBay for a decent price.

Good point -- I've added a link to the Fortnite wiki.
Brite bomber got a whole lot more relevant in game again recently, as she was part of the last battle pass, as well as part of a LEGO Fortnite "starter pack" (another different brite bomber skin + LEGO fortnite furniture).
It's interesting that the actual physical figure in 77073 Battle Bus is yet another variation, or most likely, simplified a bit, using printed glasses instead of special hairpiece, which is logical. (special head moulds went to the pink Cuddle Team bear and Meowscles, and the mask for Drift)

I can send you some if you'd like?

Thanks! And that link makes it even better!

I'll deliberately misunderstand your proposal that you want to send Brickheadz ;-P Where shall send you my address?
When I saw this in my bag on the 1st, it reminded me of Rainbow Brite, anyone remember that? So old nostalgia persuaded me not to avoid ordering, as I have done a lot this year because of some gaps that have reached spending threshold.
I had no idea it was Fortnite. Anyway, happy to have it, for once and I upped what I was spending to get the pumpkin too. Waiting for it to come as it was a brick order, it's still stuck in the warehouse at present.
The name is very confusing. Without a picture people might think it's and actual bomber plane or something lol.
Is this only available as a gwp?

Yes
Promotion ends today, 10/3, in US.

It's the 'Insiders Only' promotion that ends. It then changes to everyone after that.

For now yes, but maybe it will be normal product also, since there is no LIMITED label on it.
@Huw Do you remember such case? For sure Frodo and Gollum were gwp which is possible to buy.

I mean, there's also animosity towards Funko Pops. Even more of it, actually.
(Deservedly so IMO.)
For someone who thinks these are dumb, I'm pretty happy getting this one to add to my collection lol.
"I'm not entirely convinced by them, though: not being familiar with the character, I initially thought they were headphones!" I thought they were goggles.

Indeed. As the great philosopher Paul McCartney said, "Let It Be."
@daniellesa: Rainbow Brite. To quote a cartain Jedi Master, "Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
